Whats up man! Gotta say I’ve now bought a few rounds of flies from you. I killed it this fall/spring in OK/TX on every fly. Keep up the energy and good work! Let me know if you ever want to fish in OK (Blue River or Lower Mountain Fork) or TX (Guadalupe) with a trout bum in the fall - or - if you ever do a “fan on the water” video in your area I’m your huckleberry. I make my own schedule and travel for work all over the USA - Ryan from Texas Watched the video- that Brown was amazing!!!!👍🏻
Just planned a work trip in late June for Lake George. What can you tell me about the Schroon river? Looks to be 15 min or so from my hotel. Looks like I can wader fish lots of it. Any thought? Tight lines.
I find the cortand untra premium to be too stiff. I saw the trout hunter recommended on the poll you did on IG and used it for the first time yesterday. I caught back to back PBs with no issue. I liked how it was more supple too. I think one thing we can all agree on is that the price of fluoro has gotten ridiculous.
Nice man.. I was last there in February. Tough day for numbers. I busted my butt all day for 2 fish but they were both nice ones just below 20". One from that exact spot as your biggun.
Always had success with rio fluro flex 4X but some reason their 5x SUCKS. Not necessarily breaking strength but the line gets all twisty and messy. I don’t like it. Snagged two spools of 4X yesterday
@@DownstreamDownrangeI had the exact same issue with the Rio FF. 4x holds up great but 5x and thinner is super unreliable. I just shelled out for the Cortland Ultra Premium in the skinnier sizes and although it sucks that it's so pricey it holds up significantly better.
no its tied different. 1/2 materials are different and the front of much different. the amount of each material also different. so is my orange crush a copy of whoever invented the pheasant tail nymph too? its fly fishing theres 100000 flies of variants of all the same general thing. im sure you are a really fun person to be around
Yeah the jigged streamer version not the fullingmill one. I like the olive brown hairline polar uv chenille. I like them in micro streamer versions too
24 inchers are common in my river. Caught a 27.5 incher once. It was stupid big because 18 inchers are about 2.5 pounds and he was like 7 lbs. or more!
@DownstreamDownrange your'e supposed to be amazed. Lol. And ask where at ? Itd be awesome to go fishing with you but of course id have to take you blindfolded to my fishing holes.lol. its in NYS.
Nice fish Dan!!! Congrats man and thank you for the flies! Big shout out to you, enjoy watching the videos

@@ryanthecox1 ryan, 99% stocked trout. But…. Close, easy, great idea to get some trout. Will send you an email with more information
🔥nice brown love when there orange like that
Yep!
Trout hunter is excellent tippet, used it for over 10 years never had an issue
@@sirmegallot3276 it was my tippet ring!! Sharp edge! Now I have nice smooth edge cortland rings and the trout hunter tippet is fantastic
Great content!!! When do you stock up on fly inventory? I went to order some today and a lot of things including the stoneflies were out of stock
Just a very popular time of year. They are very time consuming to make. Can only do so many haha 😂
@@DownstreamDownrange Haha, sounds like a good problem to have! :)

Nice rod I got the DB 10ft 2wt. Awesome rod. Handles big fish nicely. Nice fishy
Yep it’s a great tool
I fish here pretty often. I grew up right nearby and still live less than an hour away. Surprised I haven't bumped into you tbh. DON'T TELL ANYBODY!

Big Brown, well done. Which reel did you marry to the rod? I've been using Seaguar Red Label for tippet, works great.

What size olive river soldiers do you prefer for the giants? Im in need of some and gonna check out the site for an order
1 size and 1 size only. 2X Heavy Size 6
Cortland top secret tippet man. Best on the market. Its pricey but worth it. More breaking strength per diameter than all the others.

I like scientific angler for floro tippet. Here good things about Cortland too

I haven't snapped off since I switched to using 4x power flex or the flouroflex strong Rio. 5x is just pushing it with the big ones.

What knot you using?
Cortland or trouthunter the tippet you can get. Expensive stuff but worth it
I noticed it getting that weird memory crap as well. I forget the power flex or fluro flex but one was always worse.

Wooooww what a fish. You’re in upstate NY in this vid? Helluva fish.

Big water, big flies, right conditions. Giants are out there, but targeting greatly reduces numbers
I have no interest in numbers I’ve caught thousands of trout
