Maestro ‘s enthusiasm brings out the sweetness and lyricism of Liszt’s Preludes Symphonic Poem. This is a very fitting piece for the RNO’s 15th Anniversary Jubilee Concert. Bravo Maestro!

Wonderful performance. It was so great that I even waiting for Emperor Ming to make an appearance near the end. (Memories from my childhood).

One of the quickest Les Preludes ever at about 14:00, a throwback to tempi used by the great conductors before 1960. Yet Plentnev also uses flexible tempi and phrasing in a well conceived manner. He probably "knows" Liszt from his primary profession of pianist. I prefer him to most of the Russian conductors of the last 20 years. (Golonanov was the best ever with Liszt tone poems and Russian composors, from the 1940 to 1953 Stalin era.) I did like this rousing performance!

Excelente perfomance.
