It's hard to believe that such eloquent sounds are coming from high school kids! Truly a testament to the high standards of Poland's state run music schools. These gifted students are so beautiful with their presentation and skill. Their parents, as well as the rest of the nation must surely be proud. Thank you, AFit for providing another brilliantly recorded performance for all of us to enjoy!
There certainly wasn't much to suggest that this was a group of young people rather than a world-renowned orchestra. It was terrific! Thanks, TH-cam. BTW. When I was in a Christian college back in the day our choir sang a song which used the main theme of this piece. The hymn was "Come unto Me, all ye who ..." (from the Bible.) I'm 78. Oct. 27, 2022. St. Joseph, MO, USA. Oh! All the wonderful classical music that comes out of Eastern Europe. It almost makes you forget about the war raging.
Wonderful performance by the talented youth of Poland. Many congratulations to both them and the production team. Fantastic job, well done. Greetings from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Faugh-a-ballagh 🇲🇨🇬🇧
The half of me that is Polish is extremely proud of these young players. They give me such hope for the future not only of classical music but for civilization and humanity as well. Bravo!!
One of my personal favorite pieces of classical music. I have listened to this piece of fantastic music probably in my life, at least 50 times, and each time I feel it is as if I have only heard it the first time !!! Wonderful music, wonderful orchestra, I love classical music !!!
One of the most contemplative pieces in the repertoire in my opinion. Beautifully performed and directed. It is my dream to travel to Poland and attend one of these concerts in person. As beautiful as it is through headphones, what is it like in person? Live music is always SO much more impactful. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pieces on TH-cam. As one with limited opportunity to experience such live, I treasure these experiences.

Very talented young orchestra. Beautiful performance!
10 months ago and I am commenting the performance of the best young musicians, some may be not nowadays, but is like the first time.. The concert is another jewel for your collection, don't loose because the are you..Thank you so much🙏✨🌹
Another excellent presentation by the Akademia! ^_^ Not only am I thoroughly enjoying all these performances by all these incredible, well above-par, young musicians from Poland, the attention to the production, the videography and direction is just amazing! Dziękuje za wszystko (Google translate, so my apologies if it's wrong) for yet another wonderful and excellent performance! Bravo!
No matter how often I hear this piece, it still excites me almost as much as the first time I heard back in the 1950s, when every Saturday on TV a TV station would have a Saturday cartoon show where they had Warner cartoons like Bug Bunny. They also had live action features like Don Winslow of the Navy, Superman, Batman, etc. But my favorite were the Flash Gordon serials with Buster Crabbe. It was here I first heard classical music I remember hearing Les Preludes...
Growing up in Los Angeles we had KTLA Channel 5 play the serials every Sunday I believe. I watched the same ones as you did Robert. Tailspin Tommy, Don Winslow, Tim Tyler's Luck and of course Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe. How soul stirring and to this day Les Preludes of Flash Gordon still stirs my soul. It is amazing the emotions it triggers. I love Franz Liszt, what a giant. I would love to hear it in Vienna before my time is up.
This is one of my all time favorite short pieces. My first exposure to it was in a middle school music class five decades ago. The " Les Preludes" is Liszt's variation on a poem with his words being 'What else is life but a series of preludes to that unknown Hymn, the first and solemn note of which is intoned by Death".
I love watching these videos because they all are so perfect in every sense, they all play excellent and all the girls look like models... Thanks for sharing.
Came for the sections sampled by the Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon movie serials. Continue to come back for the beauty of the music and the masterful performance by the orchestra. Bravo!
If you were listening on Classical FM radio and missed the introduction, you would not guess that this fine performance is by a student orchestra. Hope all involved are doing well now. Best Wishes from Washington, DC
Since "les préludes" is my favorite work of classical music, I may not be 100% objective and of no other piece have I seen and heard so many different performances. Nevertheless, I would like to praise these young musicians. Mastery of the instrument and feeling visibly go hand in hand here and also the performance of Wojciech Plawner ensures my feeling for an absolutely worth listening to and worth seeing performance. And not least because of the very good recording quality, I enjoy this performance at regular intervals again and again. Thank you to everyone involved for this piece of art in our hard times. Peacefull greetings from germany....
The reaction of Augustine Bekaert is in the Dutch language. Here is the English translation: 🙂 "I am amazed about the huge amount of talented musicians and I need to congratulate them for their passion and dedication with which they perform. Big thumbs up!"
Maravillosa interpretación de la más grande obra de Franz Liszt. Y la maravilla es mayor por tratarse de una orquesta de jóvenes promesas de la música. Memorable.
An iconic piece of music that sounds as heroic, dramatic, climactic and brooding as ever. After all these decades It may have been used for the Flash Gordon theme of the late 30's and early 40's but it was around long before that. Much longer. But it fit the character and the soap opera like heroics of this pre-Luke Skywalker/Han Solo hero (rolled into one.). Magnificent piece!
Golly! An all-time favorite of mine since I was first introduced to classical music by my mother. Such a dramatic piece by one of the favorites in classical music- Franz Liszt. Well done.
Oh...and another thing, though it may sound funny: How is it that the violins with the bows seem to never poke their next chair musician in the head? Has it ever happened that a violinist gets so carried away sitting with body movements and - wham! In the eye or face. Got to be where chair distance is most important to avoid that.
The Lone Ranger was where I first heard this music--way, way back. And also, "Private Schultz" a British production about a German soldier in the WW !!. A Television six part production.
Considering that the Akademia offers courses for TV, Sound Engineer, Film direction, cameraman and so on, these recordings seem to be real graduation Works. Compliments "magna cum lauda".
Aferın bu gençlere. Ellerine ve nefeslerine sağlık. İşlerini çok güzel yapıyorlar. Yaşasın dünyanın ortak dili sanat. Yaşasın teknoloji. Perfeçt Mukemmel.
2:50, 8:17; 14:05; 15:07; 15:33...."Lone Ranger" (Hi-Yo Silver.......Awayyyyyy!!). Where are the US "youth" orchestras on utube???? Great performance as usual from another European youth group!
I know this is an old thread. These productions from Poland are unquestionably without parallel. There are many youth symphonies/orchestras around the world. If you want to find some from the US, learn to search TH-cam
Really liked the concertmaster's animated
movements at the end, plus the Kettledrums. Wonderful performance. Thanks!

The future of Poland looks bright, seeing that young musicians are performing.
@@hollowpoint894 So excellent composers such as Mielczewski,Chopin,Liszt, and Penderecki also were in Poland as was the case in Germany.

From "Flash Gordon Concurs the Universe." First heard this in the early 60s watching the reruns in Chuck McCann's show on WPIX in New York.
Actually, during skiing scenes.
