Coming from computer science stream of a tier 2 college, the benefits of having an IIT/NIT tag is mind blowing. Some people will say that IITs and top NITs are just like some other random college and there's nothing so special about them, but once you get into these premiere institutes, you'll get to know its importance(or more if you don't get into them). These IITs and top NITs give you an exposure which no other college can give you. Same with campus placements, although the inhand salary might not be 1cr like you hear in the news, the companies IITs offer to get you placed cannot be compared to any other colleges out there. Being a pre-final student with the internship season going on, and campus placements round the corner, I regret not studying a little more during my JEE time, which could have possibly fetched me a seat in the top NITs or even IITs. The "IITian" tag is extremely valuable, specially in resume shortlisting and fundraising for your startup idea. So the people out there preparing for their JEE papers, study those extra 5 minutes and keep hustling, and motivation ke liye toh chomu Akash bhaiya hai TH-cam mein :)

Honestly, after going through all of this, the truck load of assignments, lab reports and whatever else the curriculum throws at us, we do not breakdown because of a very funny reason. The reason being that we do not even have the time to cry. The race of catching up to the syllabus is all what we can think of. I'm in class 11 and I'm forced to prepare for jee meanwhile I never see/saw engineering as a career i would opt for. I don't know if I'll even make something out of jee prep as a person who is weak in the subjects, and even if i make it to any ordinary engineering college, i don't think I will survive there.
