I watch a lot of jewelry-making videos, maybe too many...nah! I'm fairly new at all this so I am always looking to learn something new, and this video did just that. I have a flat copper California Poppy that I cut out and although I love it, I was looking for the best way to get dimension. This video showed up in my queue and I'm so glad I checked it out. Today will be the day to change my piece from a flat wanna-be poppy to a lovely dimensional one. Thanks for the lesson!
Diane Geary well I am about ready for bed too! Thanks for watching and keep an eye out for more videos ! There coming- I’m releasing one this weekend on fold forming
So I know I’m really late to the party but this is my very first video of yours and I gotta say I’m gonna stick around and see what else you got. I was working during so I will need to watch again but what I did see was great so I’m gonna tap tap tapparoo that subscribe button. Lol
Make It Kate make Sure you keep me Posted ... we could do a collaboration and I could make some flowers on camera and send them to you? To for you to make a video on the chimes!
What a great tutorial.Thank you very much. I wonder what is the thickness of the material? Oh sorry for question. I learned from bottom that you used 22 gauge.
I’m a beginner. So where do you get the metal blank? What metal is it? What is annealing and how do you do it? Also what kind of saw were you using and where do you get it? Good details on technique but a little more info would be helpful. Thanks
@@LionPunchForgeLPF Awwww you remembered, thank youuuu!!! 🤗 I'll probably missed it, since I just bought some tools and I'm currently a little broke 😅 (btw, I got the pepe tools graver adapter for the hammer handpiece!!! 🤩 Can't wait to receive it and start playing with it!!! 😊)

@@LionPunchForgeLPF Awww!!! 🤗❤️ Ohhh me too, I'm so happy you did!!! 🤗 I'm sure I speak for all the metalsmithers out there when I say that we all have room for more tools in our studios!!! 🤩 We might not have the budget sometimes, but room for them we have, so please keep tools coming our way!!! 🤩 (and the tuts, too!!! 🤗)
Great tutorial! We are getting ready for the Cherry Blossom festival here in DC. I’ll have try something like this while I am waiting for those blossoms to appear!
Stacey Shepherd Awesome! If you have any questions or need additional help I am on FB and Instagram under the same name Lion Punch Forge- thanks for watching
Thank you for the great video. How did you manage to cut out the flowers so perfectly? I just started sawing recently and it's difficult to cut out perfect shapes.
Great way to wake up! Don't have the die, but could cut them out. Did you use 24 gauge? Also, when you were spreading the petals, it looked like when you did the front you were moving away from you and when you turned it over you were working towards you... Am I right? Hope that made sence😊. These are really nice.
Judy Jeffares I used 22ga when I spread the peddles out I try to move in the direction I want the metal to move.. so I tried to hammer to push the metal under the other peddle. In the video what was done by turning it clockwise
Sterling, brass, fine silver and gold would work equally as well and be beautiful most of my tutorials I use copper for cost but the metals and techniques are interchangeable
Very detailed video. I am also a jewelry maker. You explain each and every thing with details. All videos are very informative. Love from Pakistan.
Love your flower

Thanks for a great instruction on how to work on a flower's petals. I cannor find if you' re saying how thick the copper is? How many millimetres?
1-2mm is about what works but you can use larger with more effort
Thank you for the great video. How did you manage to cut out the flowers so perfectly? I just started sawing recently and it's difficult to cut out perfect shapes.
I have sawn shapes out but for this is used pancake dies from Potter USA
@@LionPunchForgeLPF Oh okay, thanks!

Judy Jeffares This method of layering will work on similar flower dies too!
How about that Pearl ?
What guage metal are you using for the cherry blossoms? I appreciate your videos!
For these I use 22 ga but anything from 18-22 ga will work with the pancake dies
@@LionPunchForgeLPF Thanks so much!
Caren Demien my pleasure !
I hope this isn't too silly of a question, but it is possible to do this with Sterling silver? Or just copper? Thank you so much. This is a great vid.
Sterling, brass, fine silver and gold would work equally as well and be beautiful most of my tutorials I use copper for cost but the metals and techniques are interchangeable
What size is the thickness of the copper
20-22 ga
What type and or size hammer are you using?
I use a small cross peen like I wouldn’t use anything that was larger than a 1/2 inch diameter at the thickest part
Watching the video and my dog is barking at the tapping. Lol
Skeptic Chic haha!
Good content, but almost inaudible.
Some of the older videos I ha e on my list to remake.. I have better equipment now
I have all volume turned up and I can barely hear this.
It’s an old video. I’ll remake it soon
Too an words not enough information.
Too much time on one earring.
