    What beautiful well thought out blacksmith techniques. The irises are very gorgeous and textural. The video is very interesting, I could watch these techniques all day. Thank you so much for sharing, and for showing that these pieces take time and craftsmanship, and should be supported.

    The time study and lessons of efficiency were brilliant. This is the stuff that no one else offers online. Sadly, I have no CNC or cutting torch and would be doing all that preliminary work by hand. I’ll still give it a go but won’t be making large quantities. Thanks so much. This is what I (and I assume many others) have needed. SO good to see you creating. You have loads of talent and I know your future is bright.

      Thank you Lou! Honestly to do this commercially I would buy them in from a laser profile cutting company. They require a minimum order but will equal to only a couple of $/£ each. Cheers J

      Torbjörn Åhman its a pleasure to know you like what I do!... If I give you discount would you make one from my pattern in your videos? I'm going to make available a 'pack' with pre laser cut parts if you're interested? All the very best. J

    Great video, Josh. Not only the wonderful irises, but the video production as well. I'll be making some of these -- as soon as I find as I find someone with a cutting torch... Clyde

    • @joshuadelisle
      @joshuadelisle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Clyde! You made think I should do a video on cutting sheet steel and the different methods you can use without expensive gear. Like a top 10 and go through costings and speeds. Also I was thinking if there is enough interest to get a batch laser profile cut and so you could by one or two pre-cut from my Etsy shop. Cheers J

      Joshua De Lisle if you needed a laugh Josh you should have seen three grown men wresting a number 6 with stand fly press out of a van, with the benefit of hindsight a number 3 would have been the better option mate ha ha, so if you know anyone who wants a straight swop a 6 for a 3 let me know 👍

    • @joshuadelisle

    Mate those just look beautiful, really elegant. One thing that jumps out at me is that they would make lovely bird feeders or small drinking stands. If the top petals where spread out a little a copper bowl could be put the middle and held in place with the bend.

    Loved this project, came out so elegant and as good a copy of natures beauty as I imagine is possible in steel. One thing that I couldn't find was the finish you used. Is this an oil based rub, say linseed and beeswax or some kind of lacquer directly onto the black oxide? Thanks for sharing!

    • @joshuadelisle

    This video is supreme - I do similar work, but in copper (haven't gotten to irises yet) and this is exactly what we're shooting for when we start making videos. Not going to self-promote on your thread, but I'd love to see what else you make - maybe swap patterns? contact at copperFlora.com if you're down..
