First of all I need to beat my cancer, because all the medicals makes me so tired, so when it´s time to stand infront of the decks I have around 20min then I have to stop and take a break, it feels so strange that before you went all around the world and played, now you can't nearly get up from bed, still mixing music makes me feel a bit better. But if I get better I will start learning the young ones how to start as a Dj due to the love of music, not for the fame or money. So I´m thankful to see your videos Phil, even for an old fart like me you still inspire to keep playing music.

Involving other people is my challenge. Friends/family usually don't care about your personal ventures. And my area is starved of DJs that really love the art of being a DJ.
Hi all, hobbyist dj only but over the years played gigs for friends etc. I've just made the change from cd's and vinyl to sc 6000's. My son's wedding in September 24. Goal is to become proficient on sc 6000's so I can dj wedding successfully. Fingers crossed.

I'm also a middle aged man doing the DJing for the love of the craft and the extra money. having your family support is absolutely important, you have that spot on. They need to know your passion and understand it. Thank you for the lesson. We really appreciate your work and passion for our craft.
My goal is to start djing again after 20 years with a nice stand alone controller (thinking getting the Pioneer xdj-xz it looks most interest to me) and a plx-1000 turntable for my records. Made a nice space in my living room for it, to set it up and start practicing. And i want to thank you for the free book after joining your list.
I Dj'd over 30 yrs ago in the Bronx. I've been toying around with the idea of getting back in the game. Acknowledge in the day we didn't have all this help...we had turntables and a mixer.... After alot of consideration.. I've made up my mind.........

I think my only goal right now is to figure out what I want to do in DJing that will keep it fun for me and will work in my normal life around work, home, etc. I had dropped off the face of the Earth for a bit due to each of my parents falling into bad health and passing away over the last few years. Now I'm more looking at DJing in the current climate of livestreaming, ups/downs of posting mixes, podcasting, and seemingly the decline of nightclubs. So I'm more figuring out what I should try to do as a hobbyist. My challenge is always consistency. I start something, give it my all, then work gets busy or home life becomes demanding/busy/crazy, and suddenly I stop doing what I need to do to stay consistent. Not looking to play out anymore, or become some "big name". Just want to make sure I have fun with it all and I don't stop, because I just love it. So my 2024 DJing goal is to figure out what I want to do with DJing, and try to be consistent with it.
My goal this year is to be able to record a set & get it out there!! As I only stream my music mostly right now makes it difficult to record. Im D J David my goal is to have my own platform and not be stuck in these bars & clubs i want to create something for social media where i can build my own fan base , and not have to deal with fake customers that just live off of drinks and politics. I want to own my own business and not work for jobs anymore, i want to create more money for DJ school and money for my family. I want to be judged like the great D J's in the world. I want to travel and work for five star venues and corporate events. I will work hard on all my goals but where i live the town , its just bars & grills, i started being a karaoke dj but im sick of it i want to be a real Dj.
in 2024 I would like to reenter the world of DJ'ing after taking a break for eight years, but this time instead of just being just another DJ become a SONIC ARTIST - the Pablo Picasso, Hieronymus Bosch, Salvador Dali of the decks, and make people dance while doing it.
