Nooo... that is ECRF DAM... A diaphragm wall forms a rectangular section constructed in-situ under the soil. Hence, this is an underground concrete wall. These walls are constructed panel-by-panel each interlocked to ensure structural stability and water tightness. to avoid seepage... diaphragm stops water under soil
it is the structure below the fdtn of ECRF dam to stop the seepage below the fdtn of dam to avoid flow of finer particles . due to seepage below fdtn , silt will get carried away, which will make the fdtn unstable and differential settlement of fdtn may happen due to which dam will get damaged ...
this might be the reason for the failure of kaleshwaram barrage at medigadda ...

మీరు సరిగ్గా చెప్పారు. పోలవరం ప్రోజెక్ట్ లో డయాఫ్రం వాల్ ని నదీ ప్రవాహానికి అడ్డుగా, నదీగర్భంలో నిర్మించారు. దానిపై ECRF (Earth Cum Rockfill Dam) అనే Permanent నిర్మాణం జరుగుతుంది. అసలైన డాం నిర్మాణం దాని పక్కనే రెండు కొండల మద్య జరుగుతుంది. ఎప్పుడైతే ECRF పూర్తి నిర్మాణం అవుతుందో, Upper Coffer & Lower Coffer Dams అనేవి పుర్తిగా తొలగించబడతాయి. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

నీళ్ళని స్పిల్వే మీదనుండి మల్లించకుండా డయాఫ్రమ్ వాల్ మొదలు పెట్టడమే తుగ్లక్ పని. ఎగువ కఫర్ డాం, దిగువ కాఫరు డాం పూర్తి చెయ్యకుండా డయాఫ్రమ్ వాల్ మొదలు పెట్టడం అతి పెద్ద మతిలేని పని. చంద్రబాబు స్పిల్వె పనులు, డయాఫ్రమ్ వాల్ పనులు ఒకేసారి మొదలు పెట్టడం వలన నీళ్ళు వెళ్ళడం కోసం ఎగువ కాఫర్ డాంకు రెండు కాళీలు వదిలి, దిగువ కాఫర్ డాం అసలు మొదలు పెట్టకుండా డయాఫ్రమ్ వాల్ పనులు చేయడమనేది క్షమించరాని తప్పిదం.

The explanation of Diaphragm wall is not correct. The Diaphragm wall is constructed in the river bed. The purpose of this wall is to stop the river flow, and divert water into spill way.The Diaphragm wall is the foundation for ECRF Dam. The Spillway and Diaphragm Wall are two different things, and constructed in two different places. The length of the Spillway is 1118 Meters, where as the length of ECRF DAM Gap1 + Gap 2 + Gap3 = 2457 Meters. Your explanation of Dam & Diaphragm wall are not correct.
