when i went to boarding school at Marist Brothers High at Suva, i was given a list of what to bring with me ...a mosquito net, pillows and blankets and a cane knife. Yes, a cane knife..because after school we were all required to go to the plantation behind the school to clear the weeds and grown our own dalo and cassava

Do you export your cassava or just sell it at a market? I prefer the yellow ones and I love making chips (french fries) with them, better than the potato version.

Correct! The University of South Pacific released a technical report which confirms all varieties of Cassava, grown in Fiji, contain cyanide. I thought I saw a link to this report in a reply to this vlog but it was removed!?
Kawai is my favourite starch in Fiji (the bright purple adds a great splash of colour too). Not a great fan of just boiled Cassava, but cassava chips are great!
@@WakaFamilysame here too in Nadi. $100- $150. Lately theres hardly any cassava in Namaka Market. Twice my mum had to buy dalo and it was less quantity. Disappointed that farmers here in Nadi are not into cassava planting to meet the demands.
Three generations working together in the farm..🙏🙏🥰
Didn’t think about that actually!

It’s true isn’t it
Thumbs up to you for taking your boys back to their roots and let them experience life as it is...
