Hey Nicolette, congratulations for your efforts, BRAVA! As an Italian I've heard many times that my language is pretty hard to "catch" for a learner, and I get that: grammar and all. But keep in mind this: we have one of the most consistent pronunciations in the world. What you read is how you say it, once you know how to. And that's a BIG advantage you can stick to in order to get better!
Hello, I'm Italian and I'm an English teacher. I must admit you learned so fast, especially the pronunciation and sounds of words because it's very complicated for an English speaker. Anyway if someone is already accustomed to learn foreign languages it's easier because in their brain the innate mechanism is the same for every language. Your knowledge of French helped you in some way. Then love and commitment played the rest in learning, having fun most of the times like when you listen to Måneskin. Saluti dall'Italia! Viva i Måneskin 🤟💯🇮🇹🎸🔝 Keep on learning 😉🍀💪
French is probably the closest language to Italian among romand languages (pronunciation makes them seem more different than they actually are), it helped for sure. Closer than Spanish I think.
@@gillian67ec No, Spanish is more similar to Italian for sounds and words, several of them are written and pronounced in the same way, while French has silent vowels especially at the end of words and a lot of diphthongs and triphthongs which are pronounced differently. Anyway, also French has a lot of words which can be related to Italian ones, especially the roots of words. Example: the word Primo (first) is Primero in Spanish, Premier in French but only in Spanish it has an ending in "o" like in Italian and it is fully pronounced.
I'm italian and i can understand a Little bit of spanish. I speak Aldo french and english. For me, french Is easier than english. I am going to study Also latin and I am so scared. Thanks for the video

You can do it!! 😊 And yes, I loved that company's French Grammar textbook, so I thought I'd give the Italian one a try. It's not a bad textbook, but I think when you're learning the basics it's not really necessary because there are SOOO many free resources out there to learn the basics.
It makes me feel so honoured that you really would like to learn my native language! Even tho it's a really difficult language and a bit confusing😅 It makes me so happy! It will be a great experience! And also, I'm learning English! I'm pretty good at writing it, can you tell? 😎😂

Lady, you are fuori di testa and considering that Italian is one of the most difficult languages on earth to learn for an English speaker, you are awesome and your Italian and accent is actually pretty ok only after 7 days. I mean, just wow, really
@@cescovan it’s really not mate, I could give a thousand reasons why so I’ll just choose a few, Italian has got 7 verbal modes and 21 tenses, English has got 2 modes and 3 tenses, so you would have the think in a whole different way and just this reason is enough to make it one of the most difficult languages to learn for English speakers. The vocabulary is oftentimes very different, even though initially English came from Latin, like Italian, the influence of Celts and other people completely changed (or created) English language. In Italian we have got the courtesy form, a way to speak to show reverence and respect to people you don’t know or that the same or a more important status compared to yours (talking about job for example), this is a completely estranging concept for English speakers, because it’s not something that’s present in their language. All of this things are not present in other languages (for example German has got 6 tenses, French 8, even Spanish just has 14) … should I continue? (By the way I’m not saying that a language is better than another because it’s more difficult, I’m just stating facts to make you understand where I’m coming from, I want this to be clear).
@@frigobar0173 I wasn't trying to argue that Italian isn't hard to learn or that learning a language at all is anything short of impressive. I'm just saying that compared to all languages - even those comprised in the Indo European family itself - (languages that feature ergative-absolute alignments, or with different writing systems, Isolating or agglutinative languages, OV languages...) "one of the hardest an English speaker can learn" feels just like a bit of an overstatement.
it's normal that you don't understand maneskin when they speak, because they have an accent that's hard to understand (even for some italians). i'm italian btw and i think you did great :)

I am a gamer and learned by changing the language on the last of us 2 and doing the same with some of the tv i watch (when applicable.) Listening to Pavorotti and Maria Callas helps. My wife is half Italian so that was my reason for learning.
All English words, which end tion , sion, are of Italian origin. For example Stazione in Italian is Station in English, Impressione in Italian is impression etc... etc... Like words with ity (ita)....... Citta' in Italian City in English, probabilità in Italian, probability in English, Formalità, formality etc... etc...

il nostro paese ha molto di più da offrire, ma ad ogni modo è sempre carino come gesto. Sicuramente ti renderà la vita più facile se visitassi l’Italia
As an Italian, only like 60% talk Italian correctly, other 30% talk italian incorrectly and 10% talk in dialects, not even knowing Italian, just only knowing most of the worlds and saying them correctly, you're already better than 10% of Italians, once you've mastered italian you actually become better than 40/50% of italians
well i learned english because the Beatles is right point to start learning a language because you like something related with that language , la pronuncia in italiano non è per niente male, devi solo dare la cadenza alle parole come lo fanno in italia, io ho imparato l'italiano perche ho immigrato 20 anni fa dal Venezuela ma non sapevo manco una parola, e ho imparato rinchiusa in casa guardando la TV, ti chiederai perche la TV? perche abitavo in un paesino piccolo dove la gente parlava Dialetto non italiano, quindi ho deciso di ascoltare la tv tutto il giorno e leggere quel che trovavo in italiano dopo sei mesi ero fluente e parlavo abbastanza bene leggere e scrivere non erano un problema para mi ho imparato velocemente :) essendo madre lingua spagnola l'italiano essendo una lingua latina come lo spagnolo mi è stato più facile da imparare che l'inglese :) BRAVA!!
Yes and no, I understand your point she kinda pushed a bit the title, but seriously she was good. And in just 7 days learning a language is not easy I know some people who have lived in Italy for over 10 years and they still make big mistakes while talking... And the same for italians I know many who work with other languages like english and they are terrible at it. More than her in just 7 days. Maybe she pushed the title she doesn't "know" the language, but is still impressive, and clever because she learned just the basics to be understood if she ever comes here (yes I'm italian)
@@sweetlioness3735 I'm Italian too but I'll answer in English so that everyone can understand. I didn't say she wasn't impressive in her language journey, she was. It took me tears to learn English, but what really helped me was going to U.K. and spend time there, force myself to speak the language daily, to assimiliate new words, new way to say but most import to take confidence with the language. After 3 moth my brain start to crash as I was forgetting words in both my native language and English. I than start to think in English, to dream in English and it was at that point that I’ve understood that I have assimilated the language totally. The rest was just improving and improving. Keep going, I’m sure you’ll master the language in a blink of an age ❤️

Aww thank you Athena 🥰 I hope you're doing well! ❤️
i am also learning italian for this very reason and i think if something ignites that passion in you, hold onto it!!! CAN'T WAIT TO BE FLUENT (also so nice to see someone who relates to the obsession 😂)

Brava!!!Hai un ottima pronuncia hai la mia stima👍
Hello, I'm Italian and I'm an English teacher. I must admit you learned so fast, especially the pronunciation and sounds of words because it's very complicated for an English speaker. Anyway if someone is already accustomed to learn foreign languages it's easier because in their brain the innate mechanism is the same for every language. Your knowledge of French helped you in some way. Then love and commitment played the rest in learning, having fun most of the times like when you listen to Måneskin. Saluti dall'Italia! Viva i Måneskin 🤟💯🇮🇹🎸🔝
Keep on learning 😉🍀💪
Yes, the French definitely helped a lot! (and the Måneskin motivation, of course haha) 😊
@@gillian67ec i'm italian and i can't understand a single word in french. but i can understand a little bit of spanish.
I'm italian and i can understand a Little bit of spanish. I speak Aldo french and english. For me, french Is easier than english. I am going to study Also latin and I am so scared. Thanks for the video
ottimo lavoro🥰 italian is a beautiful language, i’m very glad you’re trying to learn it
Che bello vedere qualcuno che impara l'italiano 😂
It's so nice to see someone who learn Italian
As an Italian I am impressed , it’s very hard , pretty much every Italian can complain about it and learning it in 7 days is even more awesome ! Keep up the good work !
YOO YOU DID AMAZING I’m Italian myself and it’s REALLY hard good job :D
I love how TH-cam sent this to every Italian that looked up something related to the band. I listened to two songs and this popped up in my recommends, lmao. Keep up the good work :)

I'm 18, I'm american-italian and I've been following Maneskins for a month.
I really like their skills and attitude..
I love them;)
Wow! This is really cool!
I'm italian and music songwriting was exactly the reason why I started improving my english.
I really feel connected with your story! Music inspires us to learn new languages, which is amazing!
Bravissima, complimenti, continua così!
Complimenti! In 7 giorni hai imparato un sacco di cose!
P.S. Non studiare troppo o vai fuori di testa! :-)
Ciao! Excellent improvement there! Hope one day to have you here in Italy with your skills! Great video, brava!
as someone who knows french and is also embarking on learning italian for maneskin i appreciated this
You can do it!! 😊 And yes, I loved that company's French Grammar textbook, so I thought I'd give the Italian one a try. It's not a bad textbook, but I think when you're learning the basics it's not really necessary because there are SOOO many free resources out there to learn the basics.
That’s amazing!!!! I’m Italian and your talking really well!!!
It makes me feel so honoured that you really would like to learn my native language! Even tho it's a really difficult language and a bit confusing😅 It makes me so happy! It will be a great experience!
And also, I'm learning English! I'm pretty good at writing it, can you tell? 😎😂
As an Italian speaker, this impressed me a lot. In bocca al lupo!!

Lady, you are fuori di testa and considering that Italian is one of the most difficult languages on earth to learn for an English speaker, you are awesome and your Italian and accent is actually pretty ok only after 7 days. I mean, just wow, really
It's actually one of the easiest a native English speaker can study - all the more reason to give it a spin lol.
Wow, that was impressive! Keep studying it. Non vedo l'ora di vedere i tuoi progressi nello studio della lingua italiana. :)
Ottima pronuncia davvero, continua mi raccomando :).
Grazie. Sì, continuerò sicuramente.

it's normal that you don't understand maneskin when they speak, because they have an accent that's hard to understand (even for some italians). i'm italian btw and i think you did great :)

I'm trying to improve my English skills just for Lady Gaga but I'm only 15 years old, so I'm working with my teacher at school :)
That's so cool! + Lady Gaga is pretty amazing 🤘
Lady Gaga is Italian on both sides of her family, but of course she grew up in the USA. Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) has 100% Italian blood.

I’ve been with my Italian husband for 9 years and Maneskin are the closest I have come to learning 🤣 your accent is wonderful btw, very authentic.
You give me a lot of energy to learn Italian, and now I lean Spanish because I like to learn new languages
I am a gamer and learned by changing the language on the last of us 2 and doing the same with some of the tv i watch (when applicable.) Listening to Pavorotti and Maria Callas helps. My wife is half Italian so that was my reason for learning.
Ohhh THIS so nice of You! Love from ITALY! Ciao carissima. . . Grazie!
All English words, which end tion , sion, are of Italian origin. For example Stazione in Italian is Station in English, Impressione in Italian is impression etc... etc... Like words with ity (ita)....... Citta' in Italian City in English, probabilità in Italian, probability in English, Formalità, formality etc... etc...
Che brava! Complimenti 🥰
That's absolutely impressive! You did an awesome job! Plus, keep in mind that all Måneskin members have a super strong roman accent and sometimes use some proper roman dialect words like "coatto" that you wouldn't ever learn in an italian lesson. Over all a super good job!!

Buon lavoro, complimenti 😉👍
Can you learn Italian in 7 days? Absolutely not. Can you learn a few basics grammatical rules and some random words? Yes.
I just pointed out how the title was incredibly exaggerated and it may give people the impression that becoming fluent (and with fluent we talk at least B2 language level, and that's barely fluent) in a language from complete scratch in just a week is possible, while it is definitely not.
Complimenti! Ti aspettiamo per un Italian tour qui da noi.
Italian is a way too hard language to be learned in 7 days , no language can really be learned in 7 days . I am Italian and I can assure it's impossible you will learn the italian that the maneskin ,who are from Rome , speak . Their roman slang is not in text books m

Italian speaker here. That was incredible, for real. I’m so happy for your achievements, I bet that was pretty exiting for you.
Incredible for only a week of study, keep up the good job. I feel you btw, I'm studying Thai now (that's my 4th foreign language and the first oriental one), the feeling of accomplishment when that babbling starts slowing to make sense and you're able to hold on simple conversations is priceless
