Ciao Shea, prova a guardare Curon. It's nothing special but yeah. Here in Italy we are not that good at making series if I'm being honest, but I liked curon! :)
Oh my goodness, the fact that you saw this made my day! 😱 You have been such a huge part of my italian journey and I thank you so much for your helpful content. Grazie mille Lucrezia!!! 🥰
hii :) i'm italian and i love your videos, if you need this, here's a list of italian youtubers that i personally like, some youtubers talk faster than others but i can't really tell the difference: - awed (he does mainly reactions but hes's funny) - charlie moon (she does videos about the lgbt community, but mostly about her experience as a lesbian) - diEFFE (they are brothers and they have a cool serie where they test life hacks) - eleonora petrella (she does videos about fashion but she speaks slowly and it's easy to understand) - erikottero (she's japanese but she does videos also in italian, maybe she's not the best example for pronounciation and grammar but if you like asian culture that's for you) - fraffrog (she draws) - ginevra iorio (she was an exchange students some years ago in the US and she shares her experience) - inoobchannel (they are two friends, if you like black humour this is for you) - l'occhio creepy di youtube (you can understand her very well, she mostly tell about creepy stories - jumbodrillo (like inoobchannel, he does many video with black humour) - canale di venti (they also have a podcast on spotify, their videos are short and they speak about being 20) - matteo fumagalli (he does books reviews and books suggestion) - muriel (she does videos about the LGBT community, body positive..) - seoul mafia (he does videos about korean cultures, his videos are in english and in italian) - shanti lives (she's really cute, she does video about lifestyle and many other things) also if you would like to watch others series or movies i suggest you - collegio (it's a reality show about teenagers who have to live in a 70' school for two weeks more or less, i personally don't like it, but many friends of mine do, you can find it on raiplay) - aldo, giovanni e giacomo (it's not a movie, but thay are actors who do many movies together, you can find them on disney plus, they always make people laugh and all italy loves them) - fantozzi (there are actually more than one movies but they are so funny thay make me cry; i have the DVDs and i don't know where to find them i'm sorry) those are my suggestion lmk if you find them interesting and also sorry for my bad english
It is easier to understand foreign films and series dubbed in Italian because the voice actors speak good standard Italian without an accent . Instead, original films in Italian often have dialogues with marked regional accents that are more difficult to understand.
With Netflix, I changed my accounts’ language to Italian and now almost every show (very few exceptions) has Italian as an option for audio and subtitles
I have been learning Italian, for 2 years. I have been watching lectures, by an Italian historian, Alessandro Barbero. One of his youtube channels is "Alessandro Barbero Fan Channel" and another "Alessandro Barbero We are history". You learn a lot about Italian history (e.g. which female, Italian member of parliament, wanted to have a romance with Saddam Hussein) and you also learn about history of other countries, e.g. Napoleonic wars. Subtitles are available. I also watch "Learn Italian with Lucrezia", that you mentioned in your video. Greetings from Toronto, Alex
Heyy, as an Italian and polyglot I'm just amazed by your channel, honestly it's so grateful to see people learning my language but more than that is people that dedicate their time helping the others! You're literally the key reason and the motivation that I needed to keep up with my german! I thought you had 1M subs bc the way that you plan, make and edit your videos are amazing, you put so much effort helping us! You deserve a ton of subs and I'm looking forward to seeing that being accomplished, congratulations Shea, keep safe and thank you so much for everything 🥰❤
Do you like the channel “easy Italian “ ? I’m Italian and I love their videos , Katie is actually English but her Italian is practically perfect , it’s a great way to learn Italian . I’m Italian but I enjoy watching their videos .
Oooh, perfect timing! I was just searching Netflix for Italian series and movies the other day and your recommendations came at the perfect time. I put a bunch of them on my watchlist now. Grazie mille! ❤🇮🇹
This is gonna be so helpful when I start Italian. I've always felt like Rome is my second home, I just love their culture and food and I wish someday I can carry a conversation with natives. I'm waiting to get my Spanish to at least B2 before going to Italian. And about Baby, I agree, season 1 was so much better imo
We have very similar taste in content that interests us so this video was great for finding recommendations that actually intrigue me! I'm in the early stages of trying to learn Italian. I've been wanting to do this for years but just never set the time aside! However, me and my dad are currently in the process of obtaining dual citizenship so it's time I give it a go! I have some family who are still very immersed in the culture and I always felt out of place going to parties. I'm excited to finally be taking the time to not only learn about my families history but more about Italy in itself! Your videos are very motivating and helpful so thank you!
One of my favorite series on Netflix is Luna Nera, it’s about witches and magic in 17th century Italy. It’s for drama and romance and a bit of history. The acting is good and even though I originally watched it for the witchy aspect, I got the bonus of it being Italian!
A hack for language learning - If the videos are too fast, play the video on slower speed like 0.75 speed on You Tube! I recommend the Easy Languages channel here on You Tube. That's how I started learning Spanish and I still watch it if I'm sick of learning grammar and want to see the beautiful cities and people! The Italian channel is probably too easy for you, but it's a great place to start. Ciao!
Last week I watched a movie called La vita davanti a sé and I really loved it! It's a bit of a sad story but you will go trough a lot of emotions with it !
I'm surely going to watch the Netflix show "Baby"!! I believe that it will be useful for me to learn Italian. And as Shea has recommended this, I know it's going to be AWESOME!!
Thank you for this video. Someone may have already suggested this, but if the speaking is too fast on a TH-cam vlog to understand well, you can go to settings and put the playback speed at 75%. That change in speed may help you to understand. Then you can put it back to 100% and listen again to try to understand at its regular speed. I hope this suggestion is useful.
Alcuni dei miei film Italiani preferiti: Smetto Quando Voglio (è una trilogia in realtà) Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot, Mine Vaganti, Perfetti Sconosciuti, Notte Prima Degli Esami, La mafia uccide solo d'estate, Veloce come il vento, I cento Passi 💛
Hi ✨ Italian from Rome here and I just wanted to mention that while it could be good for learning Italian Baby is a very very exaggerated version of the true story and completely unrealisticin terms of teens' life in ROME. SKAM is much more realistic (and the kids have good Roman accents as well) and I must admit that I do watch it when I feel High School nostalgia.
@@SheaJordan I'm so happy that you appreciated it, I have a British friend who was so perplexed at how kids behaved in Baby and she really seemed to believe it was an accurate portrayal of what happened, so... I just got a little bit defensive of my city/generation and now every time someone mentions Baby I feel like I HAVE to tell them. ;) Thank you for bearing with me
Shows 😍 my favourite part of learning a language. I absolutely adore seing people learning our beautiful yet challenging langauge 🇮🇹 just foubd your challenge, looove it!
18 Regali is good! Im using the Netflix subtitles extension to study the dialogue for vocabulary. I love movie/show reviews so I watch one called cosmopolinerd. She talks so fast! 😂 Love her. TH-cam, just made a grammar playlist; all Lucrezia. So helpful now that I can understand better. 😁 Great video. 👍
I'm glad that what seems like the most popular Italian TV shows are available on non-Italian Netflix but yeah I feel your pain, I would love to watch Skam Italia but like for you it's not available on my local (UK) Netflix :( I watch SO many Italian TH-camrs too, I think it's such a great way to learn colloquial/more everyday Italian (and also unlike Netflix, most videos and channels are available everywhere of course)! I was actually going to make a video myself of my favourite Italian TH-camrs in the near future too, ahah ☺️
glad you mentioned skam italia since that series is one of my favorites and I've been following this channel for a while now so it was nice to see two worlds collide! (I might have posted english transcripts on tumblr while it was airing so as many people as possible could watch... the good old days) I also wanted to leave you a rec: braccialetti rossi! not a netflix series, it's on raiplay so you could try watching with a vpn maybe... it made me cry a lot but it's a good one :) as for youtubers... willwoosh and space valley are a solid 10/10
Hi Shea, I'm italian and I can say that Cleo is definitely from Milan so she has the typical accent from there. While callmedidi is from Verona. I'm not sure about Elettra but I think she's from the north too. I would like to suggest you Emma Mezzadri, I love how she edits her videos cause it makes them very easy to follow and they're never boring. She uploads especially vlogs so it's nice if you like to watch them. She is living in Milan too, but she was born in Ferrara. Hope this is helpful :)
Hi Shea- I just finished Baby & I LOVED it!!! I’m rewatching it because it was just that good. I’m pretty obsessed. It was the best show I’ve ever seen, I think, for many reasons. I was looking for more recommendations & found you & subscribed! By the way, I’m way older than you, and I still like teen dramas😅. I watched pretty much everything on Netflix in Italian recently, but nothing compares to Baby.
I’m so glad! I really liked it as well. Now I’m obsessed with Mare Fuori 😂 It’s a little tough though because it’s in Napoletano dialect so I need to use Italian subtitles. But I still recommend it! Good luck with your studies 🎉
What a gold mine! I've been learning Italian from mostly shows 'cause I didn't think of anything else, but now that I saw your suggestions of youtubers I feel reinvigorated to keep on learning. Thumbs up! 👍🤠
I Shea, nice to meet you! I am new to your channel and this is just what I was looking for! Thank you so much for your recommendations, I just finished "Guida astrologica per cuori infranti" it is a comedy Netflix series I enjoyed it very much! Each episode is named after a zodiac sign and a bit of their character is explained, so it's also interesting if you're into astrology. If you see it I hope you like it! Saluti!! 😁
Welcome to my channel! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And yes, I just started watching that show! It wasn't around when I made this video, but I know the second season is already coming soon! Thanks so much for watching :)
HBO has a great Italian show called My brilliant friend/L’amica geniale. I haven’t gotten around to watching the second season yet, but really liked the first one. They do however speak with quite a strong Neapolitan accent, I think. For films, I’ve watched this really interesting, weird, artsy and a bit slow film called La grande bellezza. For anyone who might want to try something a bit weird or out of the box, but in a sort of philosophical way🥰
Nice! I will have to check out that show. Ah yes, La Grande Bellezza is a very popular Sorrentino film, I watched it in my Italian Film course at university. Very strange, but really beautiful!
L'amica geniale is an amazing show, my favourite italian show, it's not exclusively in standard italian since there is a lot of Neapolitan language, so it's good for advanced speakers who already are familiar with Italian. It's a beautiful story of deep friendship and shows you the Italy (Naples) of the older generations, its hopes, dreams, hardships, customs and society. It's a moving story...
Hi Shea, I would like you to make a video on how you learn all the grammars while ur learning a language. I mean do you have a particular routine for learning grammar. As I'm also a language learner I'm a bit confused as to how should i approach to learn the grammar portions. If u could suggest some tips it would be really helpful. Really liked this video. Keep going.
Thanks for the idea! I can make a video like that. In the meantime, you can check out my video about my study routine: th-cam.com/video/FIzjQNGxUm8/w-d-xo.html I go a little bit into grammar.
thank you so much for the recommendations!! ❤❤ I'm learning Italian and will definitely use these TH-cam channel videos to learn and interact with Italian content creators! Grazie mille!
Hi Shea! I’m Italian and I love watching your English videos, I’m trying to improve my English and I find them really helpful! 🙈 by the way, I’m so happy to hear a foreigner wanting to learn Italian, keep it up and I hope one day I’ll meet you in Italy 🤭🥰
I binged watched the Trial and actually quite enjoyed it! I have been looking for other shows as well so uhhh...yeah...you might've gotten me hooked on Italian TV :D
After watching 2 video's of yours - I subscribed . I enjoy your authenticity and your willingness of helping us wanting to learn Italian ! Thank you - Love from South Africa
My absolute favourite Italian movie on Netflix is "Benvenuto Presidente"! It's so funny! It was the very first Italian movie I watched years ago and I've seen it at least 10 times, it's just an easy film to watch. Some times technical language is used because it does have some politics but after you've watched the English subtitles, marked down some unfamiliar words, learn the translation then rewatch with the Italian subs you understand better. But it's just an all around funny and entertaining film to watch! Highly recommend! I'll add, I think why I like it so much is because it reminds me a bit of British humour which is my favourite kind of humour and comedy
Thank you for this! I now have a lot of new TH-camrs to watch and this helped me decide to watch either Skam Italia or Baby next instead of Summertime because I was between the 3! It's a bit different from all of the shows you mentioned but Luna Nera is a good one for people who like YA fantasy/paranormal stuff. It's about witches being hunted in the 1600s and though there's only 1 season right now it definitely covers most/all of the typical YA historical fantasy tropes, and is good practice for conversations and words you might not already have as much exposure to. I didn't *love* it (mainly because of the aforementioned tropes), but I found it enjoyable and since my problem was mainly the writing of that genre it'd be great for someone who does love that kind of thing!
Cleo Toms lives in Milan! I love her too, and I also love call me Didi! I recommend you Sonia Candy's channel: she's Italian (some of her videos are in Italian and some in English) and her husband is American and they also have a youtube channel called Italian Time where they teach Italian together❤️
You should definitely finish The Trial. I loved how you kept wanting to believe the prosecutor, but then there were all these doubts...no spoilers but the ending wrapped it all together very well.
Skam and Baby there are pretty good choices. They shows you not only Italian, but how we natives speak everyday with the slang. The Trial It’s also good, you can get in touch with formal Italian, and see how we speak in a court of law, or a normal formal place. And, best of all: Im gonna be a boring Italian highlighting an error: Roccione means big rock.
Hi Shea! Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll make sure to watch those before my trip to Italy in a month. Also I’m sure someone has already mentioned this show but if not PLEASE watch “Luna Park” on Netflix, I think you’d appreciate this series very much! Only on its first season, however I’m hoping they get some more recognition from people like you so they get the go ahead for more seasons. Ciao!
Your voice is lovely, you have a nice amount of depth to your voice, it's lovely to listen to. Anyhow, my favourite show that is actually filmed in Italian, is Luna o Nera which is basically about ancient Italian witches, I love it! I need to go back and watch it in Italian though
We have the same taste haha I live all the channels you mentioned. I personally love "acriative life" TH-cam channel a lot, she's great and she speaks quite slowly, it's easy to understand! Thank you for sharing your recommendations:)
I found Calmedidi a couple weeks ago when I was researching Italian universities and found her videos about Cattolica and found she's super fun to watch!
skam italia was adapting the norway version of skam and they are not the only one! as far as i know there is a spanish version as well and a german one so if you are interested in other languages this could be helpful
I don't learn italian but in the future I will do but I wasthed your video because I want to support you ,by the way your videos are amazing keep going beauty
sei brava per raccomandare tutti questi per migliorare la giornata quotidiana in italiano. You're really brave and I m grateful that you shared this is with us. Merci de partager tout ça, ça nous aidera dans l apprentissage de l italien

I'm grateful to have found your channel, there is a lot of interesting content on it. Congratulations for the well done job! I wish you success!
Great video I used to watch Italian TV shows, there is one that was filled with mysteries and these friends would try figure them out and the main character guy lived with his father something happened to his mum and the other one is about a mysterious school TV show where group of friends find stuff and I think there is some haunted stuff going on if you could remember their names that would be great I really want to watch them again last time I watched them was as a kid.
hi, I would suggest following clips from tv shows, talk show, news and comedy movie, in fact in these films for example the so-called "cinepanettoni" are used slang and expressions in dialect from various parts of Italy
Super helpful video! Thank you ✨ I would suggest the Skam series! If haven‘t already heard of/watched them :) I have watched a couple of them and been meaning to watch skam italia now
Hi Shea, you can unblock Italian content in Netflix or in any streaming app just by using a VPN app, you can download them via playstore or as an APK. Try using Express VPN or VPN hub... Some of them are free, in others you need to pay subscription. ☀️ Hope this can help xoxoxo
Try Luna Nera, while it is a bit too short for my taste, it is pretty good. Curon was also nice, and while gomorra is a bit harder to get into it is still a fun show. As for movies, i liked sulla mia pelle and il legame enough to recommend as well. While i do like Baby as well, the thing i dislike about the second and third season is that the pacing feels off compared to the first season. With the first season, they still take their time and just shows how gradual their descent was into that world without you even noticing it until way later. With the other 2 seasons, it feels like the pacing is just off. Which in turn makes it feel a bit too predictable.
I greatly appreciate your incredible job. You have been quite helpful to me and that means a lot to me. Greetings from Colombia. You're so glorious and love her English.
I needed that video ✨💕 sometimes u can switch the language into italian on Netflix 🤗 not in every series or movie but in some and yeah it sounds very weird but when u know a show very well it can help to see it in italian 🤷🏽♀️😂
Great recommendations I just started the show Baby with my brother. Watch La Grande Bellezza! It takes place in Rome and I think you’ll enjoy it if you haven’t already watched it.

Here in Italy we are not that good at making series if I'm being honest, but I liked curon!

I'm glad that what seems like the most popular Italian TV shows are available on non-Italian Netflix but yeah I feel your pain, I would love to watch Skam Italia but like for you it's not available on my local (UK) Netflix :(
I watch SO many Italian TH-camrs too, I think it's such a great way to learn colloquial/more everyday Italian (and also unlike Netflix, most videos and channels are available everywhere of course)! I was actually going to make a video myself of my favourite Italian TH-camrs in the near future too, ahah ☺️
Yes, TH-cam is so great as a learning resource! You should definitely make a video too, it will definitely benefit other language learners :)
When I watched skam italia I just went to daily motion
That sure will be very helpful. Thank you so much! :)
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
glad you mentioned skam italia since that series is one of my favorites and I've been following this channel for a while now so it was nice to see two worlds collide!
Thank you so nuch, now I have something to watch as I continue to learn italian.
I’m so happy to hear that! Thanks for watching ☺️
Thank you so much my new friend for helping us nicely. love you.
Definitely watch Rose Island! It is wonderful!
If you can find it anywhere, I’d highly recommend:
- Romanzo Criminale (la serie)
- la meglio gioventù
Awesome thank you!
Romanzo Criminale is my favourite series ever. It was so good!
Loved 18 presents ! Definitely cried at the end 😅
omg! hahah well I will have to watch with tissues then :)
Thank you so much 😊
thank you so much for the recommendations!!
Aww thank you!
I binged watched the Trial and actually quite enjoyed it! I have been looking for other shows as well so uhhh...yeah...you might've gotten me hooked on Italian TV :D
Hahaha happy to hear that 😂👏
@@SheaJordan I think I'll try a few Italian crime shows like Gomorrah and Suburra Blood on Rome. See how it goes. Fingers crossed!
Thank you for those amazing recommendations!!! Now I have material to learn and practice!! ;)
You're so welcome!
After watching 2 video's of yours - I subscribed . I enjoy your authenticity and your willingness of helping us wanting to learn Italian ! Thank you - Love from South Africa
Thank you so much! I love to hear that ☺️
My absolute favourite Italian movie on Netflix is "Benvenuto Presidente"!
Oh nice! I've seen that one listed on Netflix but haven't watched it yet. Maybe I'll have to try it!
Thank you so much. Cant wait to watch all this movies and learn italian ❤❤❤
Hope you enjoy them!
Oh cool, I'll have to check that out!
Loved the list thanks !!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
I'm so obsessed with all the skam remakes🥺❤️
Yes they’re so good and entertaining!
my fiance is Italian-Am so im trying to learn his language so ill be able to talk to his family .. thank you so much
Awesome! Best of luck!
Amazing! Thank you for this suggestion, I will definitely check out Sonia Candy!
You have to watch on TH-cam, Willwoosh!! Eddaje...perché non é sulla lista il buon Guglielmo?
YES, I’ve been waiting for this video. Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@SheaJordan I did, thank you :)
You should definitely finish The Trial. I loved how you kept wanting to believe the prosecutor, but then there were all these doubts...no spoilers but the ending wrapped it all together very well.
Oooh interesting! yes I'll have to finish it!
Whats the name trial in italy pls
Love the youtuber recommendations ❤
Ciao Shea! You should watch the serie Suburra on Netflix, it is really good, takes place in Rome and it’a a more mature/adult type of serie!!
Thanks! I'll check it out!
one of the best Italian movies that I have so far seen is “La meglio gioventù ( The Best of Youth) “ ..
10:58 Lombard accent (from Lombardy)
Ciao!
Yes! Luna Park came out after this video but I recently started watching it and really enjoy it!
Your voice is lovely, you have a nice amount of depth to your voice, it's lovely to listen to. Anyhow, my favourite show that is actually filmed in Italian, is Luna o Nera which is basically about ancient Italian witches, I love it! I need to go back and watch it in Italian though
Thank you so much!!! :) Yes, a lot of people have recommended that now so I definitely want to watch it!
I loved your tips!! I know on Netflix Subura, Luna Nera and if you like drama I would highly recommend La Vita è bella 🥰
Thank you! Will do! Others have recommended Luna Nera alot, so I will have to watch!
Season 2 of summertime is coming out soon and I’m so excited☺️☺️
OMG I KNOW! I just saw the Netflix notification! So excited!
We have the same taste haha I live all the channels you mentioned. I personally love "acriative life" TH-cam channel a lot, she's great and she speaks quite slowly, it's easy to understand! Thank you for sharing your recommendations:)
Full support on your channel my friend 🇮🇹🇵🇭
I found Calmedidi a couple weeks ago when I was researching Italian universities and found her videos about Cattolica and found she's super fun to watch!
Yes! I love her!
skam italia was adapting the norway version of skam and they are not the only one! as far as i know there is a spanish version as well and a german one so if you are interested in other languages this could be helpful
Yes, that's what I've heard! It's really cool that they have so many versions
I don't learn italian but in the future I will do but I wasthed your video because I want to support you ,by the way your videos are amazing keep going beauty
Awesome! Thank you!
May I recommend ‘Teacher Stefano” for grammar lesson and vlogs. I’ve watched dozens on TH-camrs, he is the best IMO
really good timing -- thank you @Shea!
Yay! Happy to hear that!
thank you so much❤️ I just discovered your channel and I love your contents, just subscribed!
OMG! Thank you so much 😍 😊 I love your videos!
sei brava per raccomandare tutti questi per migliorare la giornata quotidiana in italiano.
You're really brave and I m grateful that you shared this is with us.
Merci de partager tout ça, ça nous aidera dans l apprentissage de l italien
I'm grateful to have found your channel, there is a lot of interesting content on it. Congratulations for the well done job! I wish you success!
Thank you very much!
Thanks a ton, you are a real inspiration, I have already watched about 5 or 6 of your videos, keep it up :)
Wow, thanks! I really appreciate that!
@@SheaJordan welcome 🙂
Is that Snake Jazz playing in the background? 😜 Great video, very helpful!
awesome video! so helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Appreciate your efforts.Thank You
Ok I love this sugestions but are you going to share where did you get that cute sweater?
Haha thank you! I actually got it at a thrift shop years ago so I don’t know where it’s originally from, there’s no tag. 😢
What's the title?
18 regali is an incredible film , and don’t kill me with Alice from baby is in it it’s great
Oh cool! Thanks for the tips!
I'll check out The Trial, grazie!
hi, I would suggest following clips from tv shows, talk show, news and comedy movie, in fact in these films for example the so-called "cinepanettoni" are used slang and expressions in dialect from various parts of Italy
Super helpful video! Thank you ✨
I would suggest the Skam series! If haven‘t already heard of/watched them :) I have watched a couple of them and been meaning to watch skam italia now
Hi there ☺️ I actually mentioned Skam Italia in this video. I loved it!
@@SheaJordan haha oooh nice - my bad!! must've gotten distracted and missed that bit. I have to finally watch it then 😊
It’s ok! 👍🏼
Thank you!
Rose island is really good. Definitely worth watching
I greatly appreciate your incredible job. You have been quite helpful to me and that means a lot to me. Greetings from Colombia. You're so glorious and love her English.
Happy to help!
Thank you for these suggestions!! I liked Baby so much and I hope I can watch it with Italian subs soon
It's so good! Glad you liked it too. Good luck with your studies!
Grazie! These look great!
I needed that video ✨💕 sometimes u can switch the language into italian on Netflix 🤗 not in every series or movie but in some and yeah it sounds very weird but when u know a show very well it can help to see it in italian 🤷🏽♀️😂
Yes! I've tried this before, but sometimes I don't like the way the dub sounds. Thank you for watching!
@@SheaJordan yeah i feel u, the original is usually the best!
Suburra is also an amazing series!
That's what I've heard!
Great recommendations I just started the show Baby with my brother. Watch La Grande Bellezza! It takes place in Rome and I think you’ll enjoy it if you haven’t already watched it.
This video was so helpful. Thank Youuuu
