Recovering from surgery and my whole family, sister, Mom, and 80 year old father are sitting together, sanding and assembling this amazing kit together. Thanks Jason for your creativity and the memories of this together 🖤🖤

LOL, I drove tractor trailers for UPS for 41 years. For about half that time, my mechanic was nicknamed "Fast Eddie". He took good care of me. Ever consider making your kits in O and/or S scale? There are fairly big markets there also.

Truly love watching you create. It’s nice to see you have another kid out there. My wife is commenting she’s a mess with what you do but wishes it wasn’t always so somber and the paint so tattered. Have you thought about maybe adding to one of your vignettes a man or two may be doing some handiwork on the house possibly painting a wall just to break things up a bit.? Just a thought

    Hello Jason,
i asked the same thing in an earlier video, but i think so late after it was posted that you didn't read it.
I watch your videos for almost three years now.
I am a big fan of your work, great what you do!
I also like your artistic approach very much, your sketches of the houses are always a highlight for me!
I have a maybe stupid question.
Will all your sections be aged the same way in the whole final layout?
I am not from the USA, I am from Austria. So maybe my point of view is different.
I know it from my environment that new and old things always coexist. I think that's what creates the real tension.
From the building site to the ruin there was (and is) always all conditions in most places.
But I don't know if this is also the case in the USA?
Maybe it was common that a complete area of a city was built very quickly and then "run down" over years?
In Austria / Europe I know that only from bombed districts, which were created after the IIWW, mostly in the 60s, or housing projects. Almost everywhere after a few years the eyesore of a city.
From an artistic point of view, it is of course attractive to create a masterpiece in one style. In a diorama or whole layout I find it also still really worth seeing. I also do it that way in my small dioramas, because it usually deals with one theme. So it is OK. On film sets of series and films, it realy annoys me meanwhile very much... That's why I ask.
    Many greetings Florian

I absolutely love aging and weathering structures. It really is my passion and I believe everyone should model the way they want to. Quick question on the painting. Ive seen in this and past videos your technique of painting the individual boards so they come out looking like worn paint. On this one you use the sponge on the trim for the same effect it seems. As a beginner, why couldnt one use the sponge technique on the walls as well? It seems it would be easier for a more consistent effect for someone just starting (Like me).

    • @JasonJensenTrains

I think this would a perfect kit (and I just ordered one!) to have an interior. That brings something to mind: Is there a way to pre-stain the walls as you did and NOT have to put in bracing (which would show if one added interior details? I was thinking there might be a way to put weights/books on top and not affect the stain. Any thoughts on this, Jason?

    • @JasonJensenTrains
      @JasonJensenTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! You could lightly stain the front side then let it dry. Then put masking tape over the front side that you just stained then spray paint the back side of the wall with your interior color. Or even try spray painting a grey primer over both sides of the walls first then paint them. Let me know how it turns out. Happy modeling!!!
