I adore this program.....these houses and their makeover are SO INTERESTING!!! I was not that educated with Georgian period but it is lovely. For years in my studio I made hand made highly texture plant based papers and I often used gold or silver in my papers. Such an elegant touch!
Thanks for posting the video, it seems strange that there are only 29.8K followers. It's a great show! For exposed interior brick walls, siloxane is great to use because it's not appreciably visible when dry and it allows breathability while keeping brick and mortar dust down. The gift, when given, is always quite special because it is thoughtful and appropriate.
George said in another episode that one set of shelves either side of a fireplace should always be at the same height as the mantle 🤔 I love the front entrance 🩷
100%. It would have been so easy to put the shelves either side at the same height which would have made the room look wider instead of as if they'e put in some flatpack from IKEA that doesn't quite fit. Just a little bit of thought ...
'Cmon George, get rid of gypsum; cementitious products and promote the use of lime in these old properties. It's a cheap material that will allow damp to expire over the whole substrate and enable these houses to be healthier places to live. thanks for all the vlogs and programming; really interesting. A joy to watch.
They could have re-applied very easily, making the necessary changes, and that's what any experienced architect would have recommended instead of the dog's breakfast of an extension they had.
Any experienced architect would have advised them to re-submit their planning application for the kitchen extension, allowing for the initial refusal - that would have transformed both the kitchen and the bodged exterior.
31:22 "let's see if I was right". ... clearly, no you weren't as the layout with the "oversize island" is a disaster. 31:32 - the fireplace is unusable wasted space, and the door on the right opens the wrong way - anyone opening the door when anyone is sitting at the table on that side would hit the bench and anyone sitting at it. Just bad basic design. That's about as basic as it gets. 31:35 - the fridge is in the wrong place. It should be where the cupboards are to the right of the worktop, and vice-versa, making for a much more usable kitchen with more usable space.
It's impossible to see the layout of the kitchen because of the editing, but where's the worktop? Near the cooker? Near the fridge? Near the sink? Or just anywhere?
The "old, uninspiring bathroom" was pretty ghastly in the house in Wales, but not nearly as bad as the 70's "avocado" replacement. ... and after a 50k rebuild with no major structural work, there's no en-suite bathroom for the master bedroom and that's the only bathroom, and the downstairs toilet is still through the store room behind the kitchen? Oh dear ...
Thank you. We were beginning to have withdrawal symptoms. Happy New Year
Can't get enough of this series! Love love love it!
I loved this transformation. Beautiful, both of the homes.
Loved her kitchen with the hidden appliances, my idea of a kitchen too. Fantastic job! Great show

Great Guy.Love this Program.
The Welsh kitchen is perfect! My idea of the aesthetic kitchen too!

Welcome back and Happy New Year 🎉

Being the "Moley" bookworm that I am, I would live in that gobsmackingly beautiful undercroft!
Love me some Bach!
( HOVE PEOPLE ) :
They have , what is called a “Desert-Garden” - no wildlife , nothing for wildlife
😍
Great episode. Can you tell me the name of the software program you used to place the kitchen furniture?
City planners were absolutely stupid and without justification to deny an extension across the back, on the 2nd house 🤢
They could have re-applied very easily, making the necessary changes, and that's what any experienced architect would have recommended instead of the dog's breakfast of an extension they had.
To good
this is from 2018. In the US (Florida) today, JUST the windows and doors in the kitchen remodel would cost the entire $50k (USD).
This was seven years ago and pounds sterling - 12.5k then sounds about right.
Any experienced architect would have advised them to re-submit their planning application for the kitchen extension, allowing for the initial refusal - that would have transformed both the kitchen and the bodged exterior.

Except for the refrigerator, I actually like everything else. Very nicely done.
Mooie keuken maar de grote ijskast beter in zelfde kleuren van de kasten
Have to disagree. Love the retro green fridge 😍
That Welsh kitchen is a disaster - the distance of the fridge from sink is way too far. Don't you want work surfaces? OOooo nah
The kitchen is a bit odd. Seems a bit disjointed and the random purple is odd
As old kitchens usually were.
@@serenakoleno9338But it's not an old kitchen!

I think the new kitchen in the welsh house looks awful. A mishmash of pastel colours and cabinets styles
Welsh house : more of a success
less you in the pictures more what the episodes about
37:36 - there's a foot of curtains on the floor. Why?
What's "elegant" about that?
You seem to be such a joy
@@gigiatlas2364 Maybe you enjoy having a foot of curtains on your floor - I don't.
