    Having read numerous comments here, I think I finally understand why I cry when I peel onions. The next time I peel onions I will do it under running water while wearing glasses, with a candle burning, a chunk of bread in my mouth along with a gulp of water, a matchstick sticking out from somewhere, and a dish of water along with a glass of water and a wet paper towel nearby; I'll rub a metal spoon on my hands then stick it in my mouth, and I'll make sure they were stored in the fridge before hand. After all these years, I think I've got it!

    Hello you wonderful people all! I have an enormous yard that has a constant supply of weeds. I tried using landscape cloth under wood chip mulch, but the weeds popped right through. Now I use cardboard & it works a charm! It will have to be replaced every couple of years, but that’s a small price to pay for reduced weeds. You can ask your friends to save cardboard for you as well. It may be practical for you guys to use it mainly on the paths & have your expert Weedinator continue clearing the flowers beds etc. Just a thought. Big love from Northern California Coast!🌱🍂🍁

Maybe you can do a peahen house for them one day that they can enter and leave so they can still roam freely ❤😊

      They have given away peacocks to other Chateaux, because Thor and Sif have new peachicks each year, so I think they are at max capacity, and perhaps some of the chicks might even move next year? They tend to hang out on top of Lalande, or way up on the rafters, in what they call the "hangar", in the second courtyard 😊 And I do believe they give them special food in the morning, but Stephanie tends to not rise early, so maybe that is why we rarely see that in the vlogs...😂

    Best investment ever for Galahad is a small washable electric pad. The small dogs get so vold6and are right down where the floor draft is in old houses. The family dachshunds all loved a small electric blanket, even if just set to number 2. It saves them from arthritis and joint pains later on if they can avoid the floor chill early.
    The timers on those things are perfect. Waterbottles arent functional for dogs, far too bulky.

    Your targine looked wonderful. I ate loads of cous cous while I was in Morocco I had never tasted it before I went there but with the different flavoured sauces it was delicious.

    ☔️ As Stephanie has a straight faced conversation with her umbrella hat on I am not sure if I should be listening or laughing 🤔 😂

    We have a 10,000 liter tank that takes the water from our shed. It waters our garden all summer.

    Any update on the heating system yet? It must surely be becoming urgent once again.

    • @Sparrowdean
      @Sparrowdean หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why is it urgent, given that they have alternative forms of heating? Mystery to me why people keep asking about it because we know what happened, and Stephanie specifically said that she wasn't going to film or report on the central heating installation until it was finished.

      @@Sparrowdean because winter is on its way and there is a lot of indoor heavy clothing wearing making its way in. I realise the tragedy which happened put a temporary halt on things, and quite rightly so out of respect, however I must have missed the comment made about not further reporting on it, hence my query. My comment was not intended as a criticism which is the way you appear to have taken it, but out of concern for everyone’s comfort. There aren’t log burners in every room and it’s bad enough reloading baskets etc for a 3 bed house, let alone a large chateau. It is a perfectly reasonable question.

    Have you tried little boots for Galahad? My dog liked them in the snow, but she loved water. The trick is to get the right size and little dogs might be hella difficult to fit. Thank you for continuing to share. It's always fascinating.
    Have you talked to Davey about low-maintanance florals or grasses and other ground covers, to take you through the coming climate changes? We're just finishing with El Nino, and La Nina is hard on its heels. You might find more environmentally friendly plantings than flower bulbs.

    Curious...everyone at LaLande seems to have a specific contribution to operations. I may have just missed it, but I am wondering what area of expertise does Hanni Ross provide? She is so quiet!

    The stew looks wonderful! It was suggested and worked: put a piece of bread between my lips and the onions I'm cutting and my eyes. Hence, no tears
