I like your analysis of Condo vs HDB costs... alot of ppl dont consider the tax, maintenance, etc.. I believe upgrading to another HDB is better. The spare cashflow can be invested in other areas to diversify your portfolio rather than putting all the eggs in one basket/condo

My friend sold his 3 room hdb and gave up citizenship and cash out all his cpf and bought a way bigger bungalow in Thailand living the life. Any thoughts on that ?
For experts in stocks and bitcoin, property is not attractive. Many huat keuhs bought nvidia in 2019 and 30x, and huat kuehs bought bitcoin in 2017, also 30x. Condo appreciation same as etf nia. But u get to enjoy. But the truly ambitious should go for single stock to 30x. That is better than just etf or condo, make u comfortable but not rich

Alot of my Friends did this too and all of them all say is very Jalan alot of Good Luck come their way. But must be careful. One of my Friends did it, but he lazy to follow up and end up die in Horrible Car Accident. 🙂
U dot not have a luxury to think when to sell..the “when “ is determined by your age which a factor that will affect the loan quantum decided by bank by the government tdsr , the older u apply a loan the slimmer the chance is to enter a property . Many don’t take action is they didn’t even think. About selling due to their comfortable current pay they get..imagine one day wake up the sense n wanted to sell n buy a private, then u lost your job, can’t apply a loan..that’s shiiit life, a safe age to sell and enter private and able flip 1 or 2 times is 25-35, after 35 unless your salary is high,,need to think u flip your private Pty by then is what age and is it upgrade or downgrade,,after 45-50..u just ensure u more gutsy or don’t do any stunts anymore..too old
Agree, and to add, in the employment climate in SG, 25-35 years old, unemployment risk is much lower. As one age, the chance of unemployment will go up in tandem. So just like anything we buy, including investments, must do proper research and know your own personal risk assessment. If one do it properly, SG residential property is a good way to build wealth.
