I just started on the new map. Took a while just exploring the thing. It is a cool map. I do not like the tool tip thing showing on the side. Do not see the need for the use's thing. Just have the hot keys in the help thing if you do not know them. I do like the "Y" button but it to shows up way too much. Maybe they will fix that when they get the new UI figured out. I think the cut you are using to the iron mine is made for it.
For large runs to the iron mine, it is much easier to unload if you load 2 cars of lumber, 2 cars of beams, then just repeat that for however many cars you need. For my single-player maps, I tend to use a local switcher to only load 4 cars at a time, then just assemble them into a long train for the riad loco. The Shay is absolutely champ at doing this, too.
my ironmine route follows the same as yours but i hugged the sides of the iron works valley/canyon on the right side and had a return loop going on the left to the works and the smelter all at 2.5% to 3% building downwards
The runs are going to be a lot longer if you want your grades and curves to be reasonable. With the big engines starting to be included, we need to plan for broader curves, more clearances, and higher speeds than we have in the past. I am using 70 meter minimums in yards, and industrial tracks and 140 meters or more for mainline and those may ve broadened out as I work out routes. I am also trying for a 2.5% grade on the main, so yeah long runs since the map looks flat, until you start laying track.
when you going up a grade and loco starts to slow have throttle on full and back your reverser down just a bit gives you more power like a gearbox in a car
Iron mine . Metal bridge. some of it will still get changed out but I do like to use the metal bridge for the iron mine. Still not totally set on if this will stay or change.
@@AardvarkGames-YT righto it just feels as though there are many places on the track where people would use fill or ballast instead of the aforementioned walling and bridges.
@@AardvarkGames-YT Even though there isn't a financial cost in game, irl there would be. You would only see large metal bridges on narrow guage lines if you couldn't use wooden bridges or fill to a practical degree, and when the cost was cheaper to use metal for the larger projects.
"take it 1 industrie at a time" well now im really looking forward to the track spaghetti
a little fun fact the game is controller assessable.
Thank you for the content RO content let alone new content is hard to come by especially good content.
I was hesitant to go to the beta update. But you convinced me that it is pretty safe to do so plus having all the updates to boot.
enjoy the update this one is great
I’m definitely enjoying the new Mikado/ Class 125. Haven’t yet delved too far into the Aurora Falls map. Looking forward to seeing how it pans out

Solid plan 👍

I only just connected to the lumber-mill, and this guy did a blitzkrieg to the Iron mine...
It's a shame I'm stuck at my job so I can't play the game and enjoy the scenery

Fun fact: you can place and use track underwater, you just can’t remove it

You’re meant to have max reverser for more power. Less reverser gives you lower power with a trade off of increased top speed
I feel as though I have to ask... why so many metal bridges and not ballast/wooden trestle bridges?

I'm not saying it doesn't look good, rather that it doesn't look realistic.
👍😊
Stone walling too.
