Schon designed/delivered mutitudes within his home studio live videos, upon virus arrival, stay home duration. Very stellar". I viewed every one, my favorites are strats schon plays.
You probably dont give a damn but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Man i got to say you are really out of the world you shows these great stuff got to admit the fact that you are equally good as some of those guys all the best
Thanks Dave, you are an amazing teacher! Being 58 makes me wish I was 15 again and then found your channel instead of figuring out licks by scratching the shit out my records 🤣 All you aspiring teenage guitarists out there got it made 🤘
I love this channel so much! I'm working on developing my lead playing, and these lessons have helped to put all the scales and modes I'm learning into context...Thank You!
I loved the Hardline Double eclipse album. Neal is such a versatile player and really has his own sound. I think that’s such an a important quality and I always admired him for that.
David, great stuff. Love your laid back style and can appreciate your historical background discussions as well. I've been playing and listening for well over 40 years now so I lived through much of it...Thanks for all you do especially in these times...You're great man.
Thanks for doing a Neal Shon licks video. I'm going to work on those today. Loved the Neal Schon chord one too as well as the Ace Frehley hybrid scale. I've been having fun revisiting classic Kiss songs since. Love your videos! Your helping me break out of being just based and helping make a lot of the 80s rock that I loved digestible. The Rockabilly one was great too.
Hi, Neal Schon has done so much great stuff in and out of Journey. I really liked Hardline & even the solo stuff he’s done. He likes the notes from the key of “ E Major / C#m” a lot. E Major = E F# G# A B C# D# E 😊👋 ( Thanks for sharing 😉👍👍👍
Growing up in the S.F bay area Journey was huge there that was where they came from I remember playing Look into the future and next all the time they were a bit heavier than the latter releases I kind of thought of him that way to melodic master there is a recent clip on TH-cam he's playing a strat on a stage by himself just rippin it up thanks David 🤘
One of My favorite solos of Neil's is from message of love. That solo is very melodic, but it's got some crazy fast runs in the main and outro solos. I tried my best and I can't figure them out or make them sound close. Not a lot on that song on TH-cam either :(
What Neal did with the HSAS deal was some heavy duty stuff as well and is some of my favorite material Neal has ever done despite what he did with Journey, Bad English, and Lee Ritenour, etc. that I've heard to date. I'll call it Schon. 😎
Hi David, thanks for another great episode, IMO your channel is the best thing for rock guitar players on TH-cam. FYI, the bass player working with Paul and Neal was Todd Jensen, who also played with Neal in Hardline shortly before that time. On a related note, it would be AMAZING if you could do an episode of Chordplay on the stuff Neal plays on that Hardline album! Keep up the great work.
I have a request and I’ve never been able to find this. Can you picture the last fast run in the Faithfully solo? Neal does the classic descending run of triplets (I think) just before Steve comes in to finish off the vocals. It’s classic Neal and I’d love to learn that run
Neal did a song on Jeff Berlin's album Champion. He only played one tune (I believe, Scott Henderson is on the rest). He rips on the tune he did, played some cool outside stuff.
Love seeing Neal's style /licks dissected Dave! He's just untouchable songwriting and soloing wise I thought it was so cool seeing him go toe to toe with the other various 80s shred God's on the "band-aid" documentary "stars" which was done by and hosted by dio in 1985 I believe! . *also* cant help but see your new ish article on Michael lee firkins you posted so Fck ya MLF getting the spotlight finally thank you David!! *laughing stacks* *black Betty cover* *hula hoops* *cactus cruz* *rain in the tunnel* *carless sonata* All prove how criminally underrated he is as not only an instrumental legend but his melodies and themes are more composer esque than any of the other guys in the shrapnel label/era I'd argue! . *does this give us all a hint hint* that 3 dirty MLF licks are coming down the pipe next dave ?! Hoping that means yes haha ive been looking forward to seeing you do him justice since I found your channel a year ago man ! . Thanks again for all your awesome content and cheers from Niagara falls canada! 😊🙏🤟 - Adam
@DavidBrewster, great lesson Dave! On a different subject; do you have a tentative date of release for your new book,”Shape Shifting”? Really enjoying all the content amigo! Thanks for all you do!
Great work man, love Neal's solo record 'Beyond The Thunder' as well, some killer playing and tones. I'd love to see you break down some of the Lincoln Brewster stuff from the Steve Perry ' For the Love of Strange Medicine' - killer phrasing...you'd kill it. Anyhow, hope all is well with you.
Ah-hem..*cough**cough*. Paul Rodgers... Free.. Paul Kossoff 😏...?? Schon is GREAT!! B🐓 DOES IT AGAIN 🎸🎸 Ill never get sick of separate ways, Stoned in love, although easy, it f u n to play. So many great songs and licks in his bag👍👍. Thanks brother 👊
These are excellent lessons, I love those Paul Rogers releases. How about a lesson on someone no one ever mentions: James Byrd? His Son of Man release is amazing.
Nice lesson, but I think you're slightly wrong about lick number three, it sounds like he is hitting the 12th fret on the high e to start the lick. So that makes it a 4 note phrase instead of 3 note phrase.
David, If you were my neighbor, I would pay you 10x the amount you would charge for guitar lessons. That's how great of a guitar teacher I know you are. Take care and stay safe my friend. \m/
Great stuff. Thanks for covering one of the most accomplished guitarists of our time. I’d love to see you cover the licks in this video from his living room th-cam.com/video/FD2AocNK5A8/w-d-xo.html starting at 0:56
Hello David. Neal Schon is the best. He on the top of my list of best guitarist ever. When I saw him playing that Schon guitar, I wanted that guitar so bad. Kind of like I wanted Paul Stanley's broken mirrored Ibanez Iceman when I was 10 years old. Check out Neal Schon and Jeff Scott Soto on the Believe in Me video. th-cam.com/video/HNoeAmHXpGE/w-d-xo.html Just awesome. You should do a John Butcher Axis Late Night Lessons Licks video as well as Brad Gillis. Keep on Rockin' \m/
Neal is one of the top 5 best guitarists ever, hands down!!!!
Thanks for Mentioning Muddy Water Blues. Agree it's such a great album!

You can play anybody accurately that is incredible guy. You know that you're so humble?
* Respect.! and thank you very-very much, Mr. B..
thank you David :)
Thank you so much for this content. You are such a good teacher and player. Thank you!!!!
i appreciate the late night lessons
good work

Great Lesson - I’m a fan of Neal Schons melodic soloing. It was so awesome when I learned to play the solos to Don’t Stop Believing and Lights.
Seriously?!?! Who gives a thumbs down for this? Really?!?! GREAT stuff David!!! So underrated as a player Schon is.

Man i got to say you are really out of the world you shows these great stuff got to admit the fact that you are equally good as some of those guys all the best
So true!
The bass player on the tour was Todd Jensen. He was the bass player on Hardline. He’s now the current bassist for Journey
Neal Schon is so underrated. People think because he was in Journey that he can't shred but during the Hear N Aid solo's he had one of the best solos.
He didn't shred exactly with Hardline, but that was a great project. They re-did "Hot Cherie" that Danny Spanos did. Dr. Love was a great song too.
It's a pity that Journey was so huge that it overshadowed Schon's skill as a guitar player.
Listen I’ll Be Alright Without You. Or When You I Woman. Tell me he can’t shred.
Thanks Dave, you are an amazing teacher! Being 58 makes me wish I was 15 again and then found your channel instead of figuring out licks by scratching the shit out my records 🤣 All you aspiring teenage guitarists out there got it made 🤘
Great lesson on Neil Schon just enough to make us want more.
Cool! I love his playing. He shreds. Great lesson! I love those slippery blues runs.
Great vid I play a lot of neal schon solo work. LA t e night is great. I like the theme, late night and steps a lot
Great insights into one of my favorite players.
Sending this Schon see what he thinks of your video ....great job
Great video and congrats on 30k, well deserved and more come for sure 😀
Awesome as always David!!! Definitely a Great Guitar player!Neil!!!
I love this channel so much! I'm working on developing my lead playing, and these lessons have helped to put all the scales and modes I'm learning into context...Thank You!
I like the way you give your message. Nice and smooth. Your playing is smooth as well. I am a subscriber. Thanks for your insight.
Fantastic player! A lot of passion in his playing
Great lesson today, one of my favorites so far.
Loved this video too
Good choice David. Neal really has it all.
Just what I’ve been waiting for!! thank you!! 🎸🤘🎸
This was cool! Love Neal's playing.
I loved the Hardline Double eclipse album. Neal is such a versatile player and really has his own sound. I think that’s such an a important quality and I always admired him for that.
Thanks for all of these lessons, and keep mentioning your Indiana history! Cheers from Warsaw, Indiana!
I see a David Brewster video, and I hit the like button and save before I even watch the video!
I love Neal's quick playing, but my all time, favorite song of his is Sweet and Simple.
David, great stuff. Love your laid back style and can appreciate your historical background discussions as well. I've been playing and listening for well over 40 years now so I lived through much of it...Thanks for all you do especially in these times...You're great man.

Awsome man. Neal's my idol. Please do a Pat Thrall video.
Since you love Neal so much coul you please cover some of the chords of the forgotten Journey's Dream After Dream album? Thanks in advance.
There is a brilliant clip on TH-cam when he was with Santana, Jungle Strut 1971. Playing is amazing but the stage clothes are even better! 😂🎸
Cool stuff, David (and Neal)! That b5 lick is one that sax players use quite a bit (see the sax solo in The Logical Song, for example).
The bass player on the Hendrix Set was Todd Jensen. So I guess it was really Hardline + Paul Rodgers
Nice t-shirt David..!!
I actually have a dvd of that Paul Rodgers show. Remember DVD"s?
Love you to do the solo from "Majestic" from Journey's 1979 album 'Evolution'
Me too! That was the very first ever Journey song I heard and it blew me away, never heard anything like it before. Etched into my brain forever.

4th that! :-)
can you do a lesson on journey -walk's like a lady ,i have not seen a lesson on the lead work at all
Would love to see a late night lesson on Ronnie Montrose esp., with the Gamma era

Just wondering what's all those guitar picks hanging up behind you from? Can you do an Elmore James slide guitar lesson? Thanks
What about some old Voivod?
Thanks for making this video. You need to make a Carlos Santana one
Great as usual!! If you haven't done a video on Steve Miller I'd love that.
I have seen this guitar in person. It has been stripped of all the parts and is a neck-thru body just sitting in a rack.
Hello does Neal Schon tuned down to E Flat when playing in Journey?
