    Fun facts about BabyMetal
    1. Voted #10 on list of 50 greatest metal bands of all time
    2. Their song Gimme Chocolate was named one of the most important metal songs of last 10 years
    3. Metallica likes to hang with them
    4. Red Hot Chili Pepper got on stage and performed one of their songs with them
    5. Member of Korn got on stage and performed one of their songs with them.
    6. Sang Pain Killer and Breaking The Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest
    7. Had a cameo in Corey Taylor's recent video.
    Next I would suggest:
    1. Legend of 1997 Head Banger
    2. Gimme Chocolate
    3. Karate the official video

Baby Metal teamed up with Judas Priest's Rob Halford to do a couple of Judas Priest songs at an awards show. Rob said in an interview (something like that), they are the hardest working band in metal he has met.

Welcome to the BABYMETAL galaxy. You have just witnessed one of the most innovative and unique bands - and definitely one of the most entertaining and best live acts you can hope to see.
As others have said, they are just approaching their 10th anniversary in the next couple of months - and they are still only 22 and 21 years old ... you can work out when they started from that.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocals and dance) and Moametal (scream and dance ... ie backing vocals, harmonies and getting the crowd involved). There were originally 3 girls, Yuimetal (also scream and dance) sadly left the band in October 2018 following a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons that she was not yet fully recovered from.
The third girl in this video was one of the 'Avengers', 3 girls who take turns to dance in the third spot and who have been supporting Su and Moa since the start of the 2019 tour. The Avengers are Kano (who was in this video), Riho and Momoko.
BABYMETAL began life as a sub-unit, fusing metal with J-Pop aesthetics, of a J-Pop group called Sakura Gakuin which has a middle school theme and is for girls aged 10 to 15. When they turn 15 they graduate and leave to pursue whatever career they choose.
Normally when they leave another girl will take the place of the girl in Sakura Gakuin and in whatever sub-unit she may have been in. However, BABYMETAL was formed around Su and her vocal talents, so in 2013 when she was 15 and had to graduate the unprecedented decision was made that BABYMETAL should separate from Sakura Gakuin to be come an independent band to go with her. Yui and Moa continued to work with both Sakura Gakuin and BABYMETAL for the next two years until they also graduated in 2015.
In 2012, in anticipation of BABYMETAL becoming independent, a live backing band called the Kami Band was gradually phased in playing at a couple of festival appearances and the encores in some shows until, when the transition from J-Pop Idol group sub-unit to independent metal band was completed at Su's 16th birthday celebration show (Legend 1997 - that was her year of birth) in December 2013. From early in 2014 the Kami band became the full time backing band for BABYMETAL in all live shows and they have been with them ever since.
The Kami Band are among the very best session musicians to be found in Japan and they can play anything. They also get to showcase their skills with instrumental introductions to some songs in a lot of shows.
Every song they do is different, some (like PAP PA YA) are just fun, party songs, most have a deeper meaning and usually a positive or uplifting message. They have choreo for virtually every song that helps interpret the meaning of the song, but most importantly gets the crowd involved. They play virtually every metal genre but will mix in many other musical styles and genres (like this one had F Hero rapping), often when you least expect it. Some songs are a bit more poppy than others, some songs just go hard on the metal, so it is possible (but unlikely) some won't appeal to you - others will be in your favourites playlists.
I would suggest 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 for your next reaction. The official videos are good (a couple of them should definitely be seen) but their live performances are where they are really at their best.

    Matsuri Da! (It's a festival!)
I wasn't aware of him before this collaboration, but F.HERO is a well known rapper in Thailand.
His rap was all in Thai. So his flow is pretty interesting.
This one was filmed at Yokohama Arena on the second of two nights, so everyone knew to bring a towel to wave, or to get one from the merch stand before the show started.
They were quite a few guest artists on the latest album, and BABYMETAL were happy to have all of their first choices get back to them and say yes.
They got Tak Matsumoto from B'z (DA DA DANCE), Joakim Brodén of Sabaton (Oh! MAJINAI), Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia (Brand New Day), Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy (Distortion), and of course, F.HERO the rapper from Thailand for PA PA YA!!.

This is one of their new songs. It was on their third studio album last october. babymetal was formed in oct 2010. they've been touring the world since 2014, there have been a lot of changes in nearly 10 years. not the least of which is the girls were 12 and 11 years old when babymetal was formed.

I just love watching 1st time reactors to BM. Utterly speechless huh? Yeah me too. It's amazing how long they've been under the radar to most people.
Sensory overload is what it is. You are mesmerised by Su's vocals and the girls wild but choreograped dancing while the Kami band loses their shit in the background. Hideki the drummer must be high on meth. And the production value, oh the production! Lets not get started on the crowd!
Oh well, 50 more BM songs to go 😅

I'm glad you did a reaction to one of their newer songs. Just a little bit of info...BABYMETAL have performed with, toured, or opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn), Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of this performance), to name a few of many. BABYMETAL has been around for TEN years and have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 50,000+ metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. Plus the 20+ awards they have been given. They have 50+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really heavy songs, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they got them too.

Some of remarks in Thai lyric translation part:
      Molam = Thai-Isan local music
“Papaya-Pok-Pok” = Thai pun phrase means Som-tam, Thai food made up from papaya-chopped and mix up with all ingredients, chilli, tomato, garlic, palm sugar, lots of vegetable and other, depends on varies area and restaurants.
“hot and spicy” = refer to one of “KFC”’s chicken flavors. Sub-meaning in Thai is, to living the best of you.
“I was Lightning Before the Thunder” = refer to Imagine Dragons’s phrase taken from Thunder.
      “Som-tam” = same meaning with (2)
“Hanaka” = Name of Thai old snack, slang word means like “sugoii !!!” in Japanese.
“Lazada” = Lazada is the number-one online shopping and selling destination in Southeast Asia and one of the biggest online shopping community in Thailand.

Since June last year until March this year, they performed 20 times in USA, 19 times in EU/UK/Russia and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan (total : 49 their own concerts + 6 appearance in festivals). Many more were planned but cancelled due to the pandemic. Please continue to explore BABYMETAL.

①, ② and ③ are songs from their 1st & 2nd albums. And ④ & ⑤ are from the 3rd which was released last October. BABYMETAL's songs will easily get blocked due to rigorous copy right policy, so sometimes you may have to do something to avoid it by intermittent pausing, keeping size of MV small in your video frame or changing pitch of the music etc. ④ & ⑤ may be OK because they are fan-cams compilations (No official MVs are available).

    > "That's different!"
Well... We will hear this more than one time from you if you want to explore more of them. But let me real quick copy paste some basic facts, since you don't know them:
BABYMETAL is around since 2010 when the three girls were 11 and 12 years old. They originally were part of the school-themed idol-project Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) but parted from SG in 2013 to become an independent act. Back then the band mainly consisted of three girls: Suzuka Nakamoto (aka. SU-METAL, lead vocals) Yui Mizuno (aka. YUIMETAL, backing vocals and dance) and Moa Kikuchi (aka. MOAMETAL, backing vocals and dance) complemented by a bunch of stellar musicians called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) at their live performances.
They already have five albums out (and a sixth on schedule for release):
    "BABYMETAL", rel. 2014 (studio album)
"Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse", rel. 2014 (live album)
"Metal Resistance", rel. 2016 (studio album)
"Live at Wembley", rel. 2016 (live album)
"Metal Galaxy", rel. 2019 (studio album)
BABYMETAL also has several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards). They also never get boring because of their diversity in music styles. Regardless they always manage to stay recognizable. Unfortunately, Mikio Fujioka (their lead guitarist) died from an accident in January 2018 and Yui Mizuno left BABYMETAL in fall 2018 because of health reasons. But despite all that, the band is going strong and achieved, as first Asian act ever, a number one notation at the billboard rock charts with their recently released album "Metal Galaxy".
My recommendations for the start are:
*"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html
*"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK th-cam.com/video/qXF94RGYEmw/w-d-xo.html
*"Rondo of Nightmare"* live at Nippon Budokan in 2014 th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html
    *"Syncopation"* live video compilation th-cam.com/video/uZ11JUZM8V0/w-d-xo.html
*"Road of Resistance"* live at Saitama Super Arena in 2015 th-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/w-d-xo.html
*"Shanti Shanti Shanti"* live at Glastonbury Festival 2019 in the UK th-cam.com/video/w5AlEavdipA/w-d-xo.html

One thing that a lot of people don´t understand. There´s no "anime music" as that.
Yes, there´s some groups formed for playing songs who are composed for an anime, but this ocurres usually in series made for small kids like "magical girls" anime. As a fact the singer Suzuka was in one of those groups years ago (Karen´s girls). But "seinen" or adult anime don´t have a special music. Sometimes they hire some composers, even most talented like Yoko Kanno or Yuki Kajiura among others to do the background music and use normal pop, rock and even heavy songs to use them in the anime.
No special music composed for a series, but normal music made by "normal groups"
    Some examples may be those
    th-cam.com/video/JAKLE5-9gDw/w-d-xo.html
Composed and played by Scandal, this songs ends in "Bleach"
    th-cam.com/video/BMX7egYOoIY/w-d-xo.html
Composed and player by Scandal, this uno ends in "Full Metal Alchemist"
    th-cam.com/video/Xs8IDEUYuUA/w-d-xo.html
By the metal group "Sexmachineguns" ends in a "City Hunter" movie
    And this one is fun...
    th-cam.com/video/D_P-v1BVQn8/w-d-xo.html
Composed and played by Gilbert O'Sullivan. An Irish singer... ends in a very famous anime from years ago: Maison Ikkoku
There´s a lot of this. "Anime music" are not a genre

The reason so many people come up with the anime reference is because their only previous exposure to Japanese music has been through anime :). To me, as an anime fan, it doesn't sound much like anything anime, it's just music with Japanese vocals. It is true that Japanese anime like to use rock/metal intro & outro songs though.

Welcome to the fox hole! This is, to me, one of their least anime-ish songs. I mean, I'm not going to get offended, because some anime opening/closing songs are hella fuckin badass, but I think it's a sore spot with some fans that so many western reactors immediately jump to that appraisal. If that's a selling point for you, you might like Awadama Fever. Moving in the opposite direction, there's Distortion. BABYMETAL spans any given spectrum, though, so it's not hard to find something to like.

Fell down a FoxHole I see. Well, have fun. Just remember no two songs are alike and they are first and foremost a live band. Stick with the live stuff for reactions. See you on the Road to Japan.
