kit lens is a great way to start out, its a bit soft especially on the edges of the image I've noticed but the variable zoom on a budget is really good. I wouldn't say I favour any focal length but my go to's would always be the classics like 24mm, 35mm, 50mm. In this video I wasn't using the kit and went up to 70mm but most of my earlier vids were with the kit if you need any inspo.
It took a couple months of learning/trial and error before I found what I liked with DaVinci, I'd say the game changer was learning how to expose s-log 2 properly though. I recommend learning that before anything and then look into using DaVinci Resolve if you're not familiar with it. Definitely look into powergrades like Cineprint and Dehancer too. @daikishinomiya has a really great video on how he uses Cineprint 16.
@@Jake-Wagyuwill definitely check out powergrades. i’ve been using DaVinci for a few years now and gonna get comfortable with the color tab. your videos look amazing. i’m so excited to get my hands on this camera
@@ryanandhiscamera The main reason I opt for s-log2 over s-log3 is that the ZV-E10 is an 8-bit camera, and s-log3 doesn’t perform as well in 8-bit. s-log2 requires less colour correction to achieve good results, and with the camera’s limitations, you’re essentially getting the same output without the extra work. Unless you’re using a 10-bit camera, s-log2 is a more practical choice. HLG3 has its time and place as it's great for quick turnarounds, but since I focus more on my grading in post, s-log2 makes more sense for my workflow.
amazing rich colors

@@Jake-Wagyu Been watching all your videos, was curious why you use slog2 over slog3 or hlg3. What's your opinion?

Show don't tell mate, it's nice but I'm sure there is a better more interesting way to communicate your idea than just talk. It's beautiful though..
