      It was 100 degrees that day and humid so that didn’t help.

    Did you use an aftermarket fuel tank? I know the filler necks are slightly different and I’m having a hard time finding out if the GN tank actually fits 78-80 cutlass’s

      He using a stock 99-06 truck fuel tank like a fuel cell in the trunk.

    I just bought a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Brougham. Florida car with a clean interior & mint frame. It's been my dream to have one since I was a little girl. I'm 35 now. It currently has a Rocket 350 and TH350 transmission. I fully planned on doing an LS swap after blowing this one up 😂

    actually the 79 HO was a 100% Oldsmobile factory made car, they did not send it off to a conversion place as the others...

    So I'm watching along and about 30 seconds into your drive I'm thinking "man that looks familiar" lol Then @9:57 you turned around right where I bow hunt some times lol Btw, I didn't sell mine if you're talking about the 1980 442 about 10 miles from you. My 1980 442 W-30 is identical to your 79 H/O except for the badges and the grill. They also had a unique transmission code on them. I think it has a factory installed shift kit or something, can't remember now. And could "Custom Coaches" be the company you're thinking of that did some of the W-30 package? Mine has Custom Coaches on the door sill covers. Here's mine.... th-cam.com/video/YO2qaN9S-oE/w-d-xo.html

      @@CarGuyV8 Don't know if you caught this in the description, but my dad bought it new in 1980. I have a pic of me standing up in the seat when I was 8 lol One owner with 45k miles. Never had anything major replaced on it and still drives like it's new. I've redone the inside, one of the days I'll redo the paint.

      @@chrisrosenthal1210 I did not catch that. That’s awesome! Glad to see another on GM car still on the road.

    Love the patina. I have a black gold 79 H/O all original in need of bodywork and paint. I may just go for the patina look on the paint after seeing yours.

    These weren’t pulled from the line. They were built specifically to be a Hurst/Olds model by Oldsmobile noted by the R in the vin code.

    Not sent out to be converted All done in factory. As a side note only intermediate to have a 350 in it. Still cool car.

  • @Ceeeje

    aaand...why didn't you just rebuild the 350 ??

  • @dalazdayz
    @dalazdayz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They made 2499 of them not 2500

    • @jayski8987
      @jayski8987 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. And the only G-body/ A-body to come from the factory with anything over 307ci. These came with a 350 olds. Anything under 2,500 units could be built with any engine available from the manufacturer at that time. They could have made a few super H/O’s since the 403 olds was available in 79

    I have a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass I got back in May of this year.. she as a posi rear end and a 307 that came from out of a 1986 Cutlass. If I wanted todo the LS swap would the factory driveshaft work? Looking for the simplest run down so I can drop and go lol

    • @CarGuyV8
      @CarGuyV8  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’d have to check which tailshaft you have to determine the length of your transmission vs a 4L60e. I’m guessing yours has a th350 so the yoke will be the same at least.

      4L60E. It had headers but they hit the frame. Stock pcm with a home tune.
