The QSP Penguin is indeed available in so many different configurations and prices- I happen to have one in “Imperial White” with a black M390 blade, it’s somewhat more pricey in that configuration but still good for what you get. Thanks for a great review!

NIce. My son likes this style of knife so it may end up in his possession. I have enjoyed using this knife and it fits the pocket well. Thanks for watching.

I got the basic D2 one when they first came out. A couple things I noticed that I think make it the best $35 knife out there.
1.) the stainless steel liners are a solid 1-2mm thicker then any other brand.
2.) they have higher end machining a la WE knives and Reate.. which means you’re going to get a well done blade.
3.) piggybacking on 2 a bit.. their grind and sharpened edge comes scalpel sharp from the factory almost guaranteed
4.) maybe the most important, they source and heat treat great quality steel(s).
For $35 this is what I’d get if you want something a little more fancy looking and small. For a bigger $35 work knife I’d get a Byrd Cara Cara 2.

At distance the tip and a ways down looks identical to boxcutter shape in my eye.

Very similar and it works well for cutting boxes. Thanks for taking time to watch my friend.

I was not aware of the mini Penguin. I will have to watch for that. Glad you are enjoying your knife. Thanks for taking time to watch.

I like the looks of those green handle scales and the black blade looks nice! Great review and I like your opinions on the knife. Do you have the parrot too?

I do have the Parrot and like it a lot. Thanks for the encouragement and for taking time to watch.

@@thecanadianedge1I also have both the Parrot and the Penguin and for the affordable, budget price range I think they are great designs.

@@bladesandmore8833 They are a good price and design. I would like to get the Hawk as well.

@@thecanadianedge1 I ordered the Hawk and sent it back as soon as I unboxed it. The ceramic detent ball was missing and it would not stay closed. I researched the Hawk and others said the same thing happened to them after owning it for a while. I am not sure if other QSP knives have the same problem with losing the ceramic detent balls. I would advise against purchasing the Hawk. I do also own the Leopard and the Gannet so I hope the ceramic detent ball does not fall out of them if they have it!
