The longest-serving Malaysian prime minister, Dr Mahathir held office twice from 1981 to 2003 and 2018 to 2020, respectively. During Mahathir's first tenure as prime minister, Malaysia experienced a period of rapid modernisation and economic growth, and his government initiated widespread industry privatisation and a series of bold infrastructure projects. Mahathir sought to restore the rule of law by reopening investigations into corruption and implementing financial reform by cutting spending on large infrastructure projects in his second term.

Since young I always like to hear Tun giving speech ..on anything ...I dont know why...either in BM or English. I will sit infront of the TV and watch until it finish. No matters what others say about him but to me he is a true leader. So much wisdom when he gave a speech. Sadly he getting old each day , so far we dont see any current leader that can fill his shoe next time...

We hope Tun will live pass 100 yrs n still be in politics then have a place in guiness book of records definately rare for a leader of such credibility in this world n that is why the emperor of Japan had honor Tun M with the highest award/recognition for being a world individual exampletry leader the world had ever known. How many of the Malaysian leaders have been invited to appear at Oxford Union? He is not without critics at home but he would have achieved more if not for his racial mindset running the country.
No country in the world can be run successfully along racial and religious lines. Malaysia as a country has been hampered by its long term race policy, owed no less to this man.

    • @AmeyBarkaylow

With all due respects to Tun Dr Mahathir, Tun M now cannot take in long questions anymore. Most of the time during this session, Tun M is not answering the questions given to him. Maybe also he is hard of hearing by this time. Take rest my dearest Tun M. Many people love you.

As Education Minister in 1974 he ousted English and the long-existing English schools. But recently he has been pushing for English to be made a compulsory subject when the whole English school edifice, which took a hundred years to build, had been destroyed by him. A dim wit. Dim sum is brighter...

@@syafiqsya465 so in your opinion there is no liberty of expression is it? I cannot find a situation funny because of the respect that is due to his old age ? Is it this what you are saying. I’m sorry if I find it funny the situation because there is a substantial difference between the question and the answer I will express my opinion to say so. Mahathir is able also play someone that doesn’t understand to say what he wants to say. He can be naughty, nasty and very playful. He’s a charmer !
