Don, first, let me say, thank you for always sharing valuable information on your channel. I recently installed the Aucar 15.6 inch unit in my 2020 GMC Sierra Denali. Unfortunately, I don't have my front camera when parking. Can you advise a fix for this? Thanks, Kelvin
Thank you! Just to clarify, if you are hoping that your front camera turns on as you approach objects at slow speed, it won’t. It is still working, but the new screen would have to be in console mode for the camera view to show up. Only shifting to reverse automatically triggers the rear camera. All other camera views have to be seen through camera view. Up to this point, I do not think there is a resolution. I don’t suspect one will be provided either.
OK, Don.. don't laugh. I have had my 2021 GMC AT4 truck for almost 2 months now, and l just saw ( thanks to your video) that it has volume buttons on the back of the steering wheel....
Never watched your videos before but I had your install video show up and watched this one too! Nice work! I'll be subscribing so that I can see how well it works with an Android phone with Android Auto. I know you said it works, but I want to know how well.
Don nice demonstration. I was wondering if you could do a splash intro of the GMC or Chevy like the factory unit when you start the truck. Mine should arrive next week.
There is a change to the boot screen you can make, but I never tested it out yet. Long video as it is but maybe I can make a follow-up specifically for customization
Thanks Don, it answered a lot of my questions. Only one issue I would have with it is the bluetooth connectivity. As the unit takes up one of the bluetooth spots, persons with two phones (like me, my work, then personal phone). I would loose the ability to connect a phone for hands free. It would be nice if the unit had a output connection similar to thr factory screen so your not using the bluetooth. Maybe Aucar can work 9n the fur future models.
@fredp3088 I like watching movies in my truck that app helps.. open the app while connected to the radio using Bluetooth.... adjust the Bluetooth metronome..my Samsung is at a +8 or +9.....I sometimes have to stop the videos/movies while they play then start them with the play/pause button on my truck radio to sync the sound and video
@cholios1765 Thank you so much! Question have you ran into a small issue where android autos resolution is a little blurry? I contacted support and they said they my galaxy fold6 resolution is different and I'll have to wait for a zlink update to have it fixed.

Don you’ve done yourself with this modification! Excellent informative video! As soon as my warranty runs out in 10,000 miles I am buying this product! I do have one question with all the extras you have put on your truck or are you ever worried about the warranty being voided or did you do all your extras after your factory warranty?
I am not worried about voiding my warranty while warranty is still active. Most of my add-ons have been bolt-on and can be removed without a trace. The exception is the exhaust, I had to cut the stock one to get it out. I would likely wait for warranty to be over for things like a supercharger or ECU unlock for custom tuning.

@Donslife thank you young man I appreciate you replying I have a 21 SLT Duramax 1500 and I had to change the setting to the 22 Silverado I guess I didn't wait long enough I check it tomorrow. Thanks again
At first, yes. But it was just a quick setting change using the code they give you to adjust the model year of the vehicle. Mine is a 2021 but the 2022 setting worked properly
@@Donslife Thanks for the tip as I just tried it and nothing changed. Did you have to swap a couple of the metal clips of the original unit? As well the 12v socket can be release from the back side instead coming in from the inside once the plug has been removed.
Hey Don, I’ve been watching your videos. They’re great. I haven’t pulled the trigger for my truck yet. I got a question if the CarPlay is connected can you still get your text? Read through the unit and respond through the unit? Via CarPlay. Also, I have a lot of customers that text me their address and if I’m in iMessage and I click the address it opens maps on the stock unit. Does that work?
Little part i didnt understand. Can you use your cellphone data to actualy use this while driving? Or you need another sim card with a plan? If so thats a deal breaker.
You can use your phones internet connection as a hotspot for the device, but not use CarPlay reliably at the same time unless you get a dedicated sim card for the device’s data.
I installed mine in our 2022 Silverado HD 3500 and the install went without any issues. A couple questions though... I noticed that if I am playing music thru Spotify or TH-cam for example thru the Apps installed on the unit, if I go the vehicle console by selecting the Intouch icon the apps will stop playing. Is this an issue with the way its set up or just a limitation of the system? Also, when the system is set up the way you have shown for phone calls, If I answer a phone call by touching the answer icon on the screen the call is answered but the is no sound... if I answer the call by using the steering wheel buttons then the sound is fine. Again, is this just the way it works or do I have some setting incorrect. I also installed an ATT sim card from an extra phone we had and that makes this thing incredibly useful. Thanks for your in depth tutorial, it was very helpful!
@ChosenAdventures Cool. So when I tried to get a sim I gave ATT IMEI and they said it was incompatible. Did you just activate the sim for an older phones IMEI and stuck it in then stereo?
@@fredp3088 So I had an extra phone that was included with the data plan with my other phones. My first thought was that I needed a new sim card with data plan only, but when I went to the local ATT store they told me that I could just use the sim from the phone. So she even found a spare sim card adapter and just gave it to me. I never had to activate anything as it was already being used in the iPhone. So far its working great!
If you are referring to the map in the thumbnail picture for the video, that is Apple Maps that is on the iPhone while connected to the screen wirelessly through CarPlay
All apps due to the Bluetooth audio transmission lag will have you experiencing a delay. This isn’t a product defect, it is a technology limitation. If there was an analog 3.5mm output for the trucks that have 3.5mm auxiliary inputs, we could have no delay. Not all trim levels have this option. Try playing a video on your phone over Bluetooth to the vehicle’s sound system. You’ll experience the same delay. Different manufacturers and models can vary when it comes to this audio delay/lag.
Is there a delay in the sound on Netflix or You tube? Looks like there is when testing split screen and the Office video…that would really suck so I hope it was a fluke or maybe there is an offset setting somewhere but it looks like Bluetooth delay
As always Don, Great video and great screen. I've been waiting for something like this. Did you say you'll need a Line-out converter for wireless Car play & Android Auto? I was under the impression that the unit is already setup wirelessly for these apps.
Thanks. The line out converter is if you want to add some upgraded speaker and an amplifier to your system. Carplay and AA work wirelessly with this out of the box
I assume this screen no different that the factory radio and still uses the brains etc etc from GM when adding amps etc etc. What about audio controls bass treble fade balance etc etc? @donslife
What a great install video and now a great how to use video. That is awesome you figured out how to link the screen first and then your phone. How does it work when someone else drives the truck, does their phone link 2nd? Or is that a setting you have to select with everyone that links their phone to it? Does it have driver specific features? Like if you get in it and link your phone, you set up waze and XM. Then someone else drives it and links their phone and selects Google maps and carplay. Will it remember different drivers? Thanks
I’m gonna have to try the way you have your phone setup. Because that was my biggest beef with this thing. I voiced that I wasn’t overly thrilled of losing my steering wheel buttons in my install video…
@@Donslife I would agree. It’s definitely a neat addition. I linked my phone like you did and I gained back my steering wheel voice control buttons. So that’s a plus! Also my auto day/night seems to be working on properly now after rebooting the tablet.
Thanks Donny, great video again, that is a game changer. Especially the switch board. Question is, how do you connect that switch board? I have a 8 switch board looking just like yours, but I do not see any way to hook it up.
Great. I guess it’s time for another switchboard. That will eliminate installing the switchboard in the ceiling, which I was about to do. Thanks for replying.
Hey man thank you for that great info and detailed install and all the feedback I just purchased for my 2020 2500 denali my only question is if this will still work with the factory kicker sub I know the radio doesnt have audio outputs (rca's) but I'm hoping that since the kicker doesn't use rca's it will still work
Your audio system still works as before. This new screen provides audio for its apps via Bluetooth to the truck. It is no different then pairing a phone
Thank you man this is awesome, you think they will ever have these on sale? Or discount the old model when the new model comes out? As well how do those touch screen controls work on the main screen gmc stock screen?
How does CarPlay look on your screen? I just installed this and Android Auto is very low resolution making it unusable. This video was very informative as the packing has no manual. I'll be watching this video on my phone doing the things you are doing to learn it better. Initial impressions are not impressed for $1300 mainly due to my AA issue. May see about getting a sim card so I can use Google Maps on the device as well as Spotify.
@@Donslife I thought it looked pretty good from the video. Mine is just trash, like it looks to be made for a very small screen. Street names are unreadable, bad aliasing on roads and traffic conditions, small fonts that give you eye strain trying to see what it says exacerbated by the low resolution. Also, the Google Maps is off center when not using AA but the units built in Google Maps. When using Maps on AA, the view is so far away I have to zoom in every time, just a pain to use. Thanks for the reply!
Great follow-up video extremely helpful too..thanks! I have a rear infotainment system with 2 screens. Can the Aucar connect to my rear system so that I can have the same video on all 3 screens? Also do it have a connection for hdmi?
Great video! I know you said that the camera automatically comes on in reverse but not left or right when towing. I am curious about the front and rear parking assist when you get too close to an object the cameras come on in the stock system. What happens with this system?
Honestly I didn’t get that tested out. I knew I would miss something. The parking sensors work, but I’ll have to see the if the cameras will trigger through the Android screen too
Great follow-up video it was extremely helpful! I have a rear infotainment system with 2 headrest screens. Can the Aucar connect to my rear infotainment system so that I can have the same video on all 3 screens? Also do it have a connection for hdmi?
Unfortunately there are no video outputs for rear screens. I am pretty sure the new screen would not be projected to the rear screens either. If they are the OE screens, they’ll still work like before with the original infotainment system. I haven’t tested this either.
Thanks for all the info Don. I searched all of the comments but I seem to be one of the few likely having an issue. I set mine up exactly like yours but seem to have a lengthy wait to connect to CarPlay most days for some reason. Any feedback on what could be causing it would be great. Ty
Try restarting your phone and forgetting old Bluetooth devices in your phone’s history. You can also try resetting the screen from the pinhole in the front by the fan knob
@DONSLIFE can you provide a number to contact them for tech support for the access code to change the system for the screen zoomed in on factory display
@DONSLIFE when I go to console and get to my factory looking radio screen and ac controls , my radio screen is so zoomed in I can’t use any of the functions . Any help would be appreciated
You probably have to change the settings to a different model year. Mine did the same. 2021 8”’needed to be changed to 2022 8”. Then it fixed the resolution. Then you’ll need to turn the truck off for about 20+ mins. Close the door and walk away. Then it should be updated for proper touch controls on the regular sized console.
I got a SIM card from Verizon to use for the 4GLTE and it didn't work. Verizon said the unit is not compatible. Gave them the IMEI number and device was not found. Not a big deal because you can use hot spot from your phone. Just an FYI if you have a work around to use the SIM card that would be great.
Hopefully that other person can chim in and let us know what he said and what Verizon did to get it to work. The unit reads the SD Card just no network connection. For now we just use the phone hot spot when we want to use the tablet aspect of the unit. Thank you again for your content@Donslife
Did any of you guys used Verizon SIM card for Network? For me it’s not working after all the research Verizon uses CDMS network type and this android system uses GSM network. Another thing I don’t like is when I’m playing from my phone I have to switch the audio output to myGMC if it’s on CarPlay I won’t have not audio.
Mine are tucked behind the dash. You’d probably want to move them up higher under the dash. The GPS module you might want to have near where the front glass meets the dashboard
Hi Don, interested on purchasing. My question is, a few times in the video you mention you have contacted the manufacturer on a few things, is the tech support pretty responsive or is days on end before you get answers? Just curious as it is made in China. Thanks in advance and your videos are awesome!
If I email one day, due to the time zones, I get an answer the next day, unless we run into their weekend, then it could be a few days. More and more overseas companies will offer WhatsApp contact, which can be easier for sharing pics and videos. This is very helpful since email is not ideal for this.
Hi Don, got my display and had the local GM dealership do the install. The unit works but does not display the original information screen. I have picked the correct truck in the options it gives for the options. The dealership also intalled it with the correct cable for the year of truck 2021 AT4 with tech package.
There is a setting that I had to change in the setting menu of the screen. I have a 2021 but changed it to 8" 2022 and it fixed the issue for the original GMC infotainment screen. You may need to shut the truck off for 20 mins or so after so the change can fully happen. If touch responsiveness on the GM infotainment is a problem, then shut the truck off again and walk away for 20 mins. Lots of owner's can confirm this is the solution for the OEM screen not looking correct.
Does the video and audio not match? Looks like there was a delay when Michael was talking. There is a slight audio/video delay when I pair my phone to Bluetooth and watch youtube on phone and audio from truck speakers is delayed a bit throwing off the sync. It looks like this was happening in this demo video. Can you confirm this happens or doesn't happen and video/audio is flawless and in sync? Ty.
It 100% is out of sync. I cover this in the video. It is very common behavior for bluetooth with A/V devices in vehicles. GMC seems to be middle of the road out of other manufacturers
It adds a step for sure. Since it is a software thing, I hope they provide an update one day that has the seat controls as a shortcut at the bottom like a few of the other climate controls
Do the factory chimes such as seatbelt, door ajar, park assist, and lane assist beeps still come through the truck speakers or do those come through that small external speaker?
Hey let me know if you figure out a way to bypass or figure out a setting that will sync the Bluetooth properly through video apps to fix the delay issue.
How’s the audio? Is it still as bold as the original stereo? I mostly listen to Sirus or HD radio, both of which sound great. I’m curious if there is any degradation.
I want to confirm this before buying, will the Netflix or TH-cam app work while in motion? And will your current vehicle wifi subscription work with this?
@@Donslife I just wanted to be 100% clear about it before buying it. It makes no sense that vehicles come with TV screens now but you can’t watch anything on it not even when you’re parked.
Can you elaborate on what your comment about video/audio delay and Bluetooth was about? I didn’t understand where Bluetooth was in the setup at the time you were referring to. In my current video watching setup with the factory radio (Android Auto / AAD) there is a delay for streaming video (but the app can account for that) but downloaded is fine with no need for adjustments.
It's kind of weird that the physical fan power button looks identical to the button for sound. Do you think it's possible to replace the button on the new unit with the fan power button from the original control panel? That way it'll have the fan symbol?

All other camera views have to be seen through camera view. Up to this point, I do not think there is a resolution. I don’t suspect one will be provided either.
OK, Don.. don't laugh. I have had my 2021 GMC AT4 truck for almost 2 months now, and l just saw ( thanks to your video) that it has volume buttons on the back of the steering wheel....
wow, this is I been waiting for for our GMC 2500HD. Just wondering how they works through the cold weather. But I’m get my now! Thanks again!
I wonder the same. I can’t test the cold weather functionality until January most likely
Great review, I’m waiting on my system for my Tahoe
Not sure how similar they are. Thanks for watching
Never watched your videos before but I had your install video show up and watched this one too! Nice work! I'll be subscribing so that I can see how well it works with an Android phone with Android Auto. I know you said it works, but I want to know how well.
Thanks for checking out the video but at the moment I have only tested it with an Apple phone
Hot damn!!!!! I’m gonna start saving some money now!!! I’m excited!!!!!!
Thanks for watching. I am still learning a lot about it.
Sound assistant app helps with syncing video audio its in the galazy store not the play store .... adjust the Bluetooth metronome setting
Really? I'll have to try that.
@cholios1765 Thank you so much!
Question have you ran into a small issue where android autos resolution is a little blurry? I contacted support and they said they my galaxy fold6 resolution is different and I'll have to wait for a zlink update to have it fixed.
@@fredp3088 I installed mines a few days ago and android auto looks blurry low resolution, I have a s24 ultra. Apple car play looks perfect. Spoke to my vendor and they said that the engineers are aware and r&d are working on it. Is Anyone else experiencing this with android auto??
@@Donslife excellent point I have any major problems. I guess I could simply just unbolt everything and return everything to factory temporarily.
@@Donslife hey Don, do you happen to have any images of what it looks like from behind? Is everything squared up and snugged up against the old console?
Great content bro! I ordered mines a couple of days ago (thanks for the discount code!)
Hey Don thank you for all the informitive videos you put out there.Your step by step videos help alot of us just trying to make it.I'm having an issue with it freezing when i put it on the original factory radio console how did you contact them for issues or the code if you could please let me know thank you.
It sounds like you need to change a setting. support@aucarauto.com for more information. Mine is a 2021 and I had to set it to 2022, the. Let the truck sleep and then the console worked
@Donslife thank you young man I appreciate you replying I have a 21 SLT Duramax 1500 and I had to change the setting to the 22 Silverado I guess I didn't wait long enough I check it tomorrow. Thanks again
How do you change the setting to a 2022?
Don, I figured it out my front camera. It was operator error😂
I have been there before 😂
Ok so as a GM nerd. I really like the GM make/model display at start up from the instrument panel to the media screen.
Does it still do that or not?
No, just custom wallpapers, live wallpapers and boot logos when your reset the device.
How are you getting you nob colors? I love the install video and getting the itch to buy one
If you are referring to the backlighting, there is an app that allows you to customize all of the button colors
Great job on the install video it was really helpful. Did you have any issues with the unit not picking up the trucks cameras and console programs?
At first, yes. But it was just a quick setting change using the code they give you to adjust the model year of the vehicle. Mine is a 2021 but the 2022 setting worked properly
@@Donslife Thanks I will give it a try
@@XTP94 if you change these settings. Shut the truck off for 20 mins so the screen can sleep and fully allow the changes to take affect
@@Donslife Thanks for the tip as I just tried it and nothing changed. Did you have to swap a couple of the metal clips of the original unit? As well the 12v socket can be release from the back side instead coming in from the inside once the plug has been removed.
Great content! so much info, Idk if you mentioned if the wired carplay/android auto still works like normal
Only wireless will work. For CarPlay at least. I couldn’t test android auto
Carplay notifications including imessage are still available
When's the next video set to drop? Anxious to see what else you have figured out! Great work Don
Not sure yet. I have lots on the go
Little part i didnt understand.
You installed from an AT&T? When i tried to purchase one i was told it wasn't supported? Even the website states it's incompatible
@@fredp3088 Yes however I needed to use a sim card adapter because the sim card from a phone is smaller than the provided sim reader.
@@fredp3088 my sim came out of an extra phone that we had, but needed to use a sim card adapter because the size was too small.
Thank you man this is awesome, you think they will ever have these on sale? Or discount the old model when the new model comes out
Hi, I would like to order two of your screens. I just want to know if it will have the map that you show in blue or if it needs to be installed.
If you are referring to the map in the thumbnail picture for the video, that is Apple Maps that is on the iPhone while connected to the screen wirelessly through CarPlay
You said there's a delay in Audio/video you get with carplay is that even with built in netflix and youtube?
All apps due to the Bluetooth audio transmission lag will have you experiencing a delay. This isn’t a product defect, it is a technology limitation. If there was an analog 3.5mm output for the trucks that have 3.5mm auxiliary inputs, we could have no delay. Not all trim levels have this option.
Try playing a video on your phone over Bluetooth to the vehicle’s sound system. You’ll experience the same delay. Different manufacturers and models can vary when it comes to this audio delay/lag.
I noticed that too. Your stream Idid not show up in my main feed. I had to go in and look for it.
All good. Turn notifications on maybe
This appears to be the exact same unit as the AutoTec Pro & a few others re branded.
AutoTec from what I was told is a distributor of these screens too. 🤷🏻♂️ The market will have lots if rebranded ones I am sure.
@@Donslife I hope you’re enjoying it! Great vid & look forward to getting mine
Is there a delay in the sound on Netflix or You tube? Looks like there is when testing split screen and the Office video…that would really suck so I hope it was a fluke or maybe there is an offset setting somewhere but it looks like Bluetooth delay
There is an audio/video sync experience due to bluetooth being the audio connection
@@DonslifeSorry man, just got to rapid fire and you mentioned it
As always Don, Great video and great screen.
@donslife
Good job, very professional. I would ask you a favor, how can I download that map that is shown in blue, if you would be so kind?

Android users: So it's an android 🤣
Pretty much 😂
Give it 12mo and the OS will freeze.

Great video Don!! Can you stream music from the tablet to a bluetooth device not associated with the truck?
I would think that is possible. I haven’t tried it either
Thanks
Can you black out the whole screen? Big screen like that sometimes you just dont want light in the cab while driving.
Yes. One button
I’m gonna have to try the way you have your phone setup. Because that was my biggest beef with this thing. I voiced that I wasn’t overly thrilled of losing my steering wheel buttons in my install video…
It isn’t a perfect system, but it has made my truck more interesting again, at least on the inside
Download the app from the app store and connect it via Bluetooth to the screen
Great. I guess it’s time for another switchboard. That will eliminate installing the switchboard in the ceiling, which I was about to do. Thanks for replying.
Is there a way to reset to factory settings when you are wanting to sell the truck that way it does not have netflix with your login?
Hey man thank you for that great info and detailed install and all the feedback I just purchased for my 2020 2500 denali my only question is if this will still work with the factory kicker sub I know the radio doesnt have audio outputs (rca's) but I'm hoping that since the kicker doesn't use rca's it will still work
Your audio system still works as before. This new screen provides audio for its apps via Bluetooth to the truck. It is no different then pairing a phone
I wish the dash on the climate mode looked like the Sierra dash and not some random car
It can be customized if you know your way around Android. I showed an example in this video from another screen owner.
Thanks great review have one question when making and receiving phone calls are you speaking throw the factory mics?
Yes you retain the factory mics and you can now add extra but don’t need to
How well do you think it will hold up in our Saskatchewan winters?
You made me really want to get one! Haha
I will let you know come January/February. 😂 They claim they were tested as low as -30°C or -22°F
@@Donslife haha oh boy, let’s hope they do well.
How have you liked it overall so far now?
Looks like a sweet upgrade!
CarPlay look really good on mine. It is shown in the video
Glad I read this. I use AA and use it all the time. Surprised AA doesn't have a high res option for bigger screens.
So if you don't have wireless carplay, will installing this screen give you wireless carplay!?
Yes
@@Donslife Awesome! Thanks for such a fast reply!
Great follow-up video extremely helpful too..thanks! I have a rear infotainment system with 2 screens. Can the Aucar connect to my rear system so that I can have the same video on all 3 screens? Also do it have a connection for hdmi?
As far as I know, it won’t show on rear screens, nor does it have any type of video output, including HDMI
Great video! I know you said that the camera automatically comes on in reverse but not left or right when towing. I am curious about the front and rear parking assist when you get too close to an object the cameras come on in the stock system. What happens with this system?
Honestly I didn’t get that tested out. I knew I would miss something. The parking sensors work, but I’ll have to see the if the cameras will trigger through the Android screen too
Mine came with a printout with instructions on how to change the car model/ac.
I think they are providing that now. Mine did not. I was a pioneer 😂
Thanks so much!!
You’re welcome. More tomorrow
Does it intergrate seamlessly with the bose sound system? Have you noticed any changes in sound quality switching from the old head unit to this unit?
Thanks for all the info Don. I searched all of the comments but I seem to be one of the few likely having an issue. I set mine up exactly like yours but seem to have a lengthy wait to connect to CarPlay most days for some reason. Any feedback on what could be causing it would be great. Ty
Try restarting your phone and forgetting old Bluetooth devices in your phone’s history. You can also try resetting the screen from the pinhole in the front by the fan knob

who has the best plan for sim card?? Cost versus function?
Did you make a video of how you ended up setting up the antenas mic and speaker
20:35 it would be awesome if they allowed the camera view to stay on rather than shutting off after a short period of time
That’s a GM programming setting. Since this device adds on to the existing system, it won’t allow those kinds of changes
It would be cool though
Does the audio for Netflix and other items that are playing through the tablet come through the factory speaker system?
Yes it does
@DONSLIFE when I go to console and get to my factory looking radio screen and ac controls , my radio screen is so zoomed in I can’t use any of the functions .
@@Donslife okay I will try that . Would I need a special code for that or just the code supplied in the the manual?

I got a SIM card from Verizon to use for the 4GLTE and it didn't work. Verizon said the unit is not compatible. Gave them the IMEI number and device was not found. Not a big deal because you can use hot spot from your phone. Just an FYI if you have a work around to use the SIM card that would be great.
Another owner posted he was able to get Verizon working by not AT&T.
Hopefully that other person can chim in and let us know what he said and what Verizon did to get it to work. The unit reads the SD Card just no network connection. For now we just use the phone hot spot when we want to use the tablet aspect of the unit. Thank you again for your content@Donslife
I have not tried but I’ve seen people are having good luck with T-Mobile sims and t mobile obd2 plug in WiFi
Welp, I’m sold !
does this system work if you have it with subwoofers and amplifiers
Yes
What is the price on that unit and where I can get one I love it
Link in the video description. Prices are different based on your country’s currency
Hey Don, where did you route your 4G antennas and navigation antenna?
Mine are tucked behind the dash. You’d probably want to move them up higher under the dash. The GPS module you might want to have near where the front glass meets the dashboard
I purchased an adapter to where you can tap into the shark fin from under the dash, above your gas pedal for your gps.
How long did it take to get it from the time you ordered it?
Could you send a pic of what and where you changed it?

Does the video and audio not match? Looks like there was a delay when Michael was talking. There is a slight audio/video delay when I pair my phone to Bluetooth and watch youtube on phone and audio from truck speakers is delayed a bit throwing off the sync. It looks like this was happening in this demo video. Can you confirm this happens or doesn't happen and video/audio is flawless and in sync? Ty.
It 100% is out of sync. I cover this in the video. It is very common behavior for bluetooth with A/V devices in vehicles. GMC seems to be middle of the road out of other manufacturers
For the heated seats, do you find it cumbersome to turn them on with the new screen?
It adds a step for sure. Since it is a software thing, I hope they provide an update one day that has the seat controls as a shortcut at the bottom like a few of the other climate controls
Do the factory chimes such as seatbelt, door ajar, park assist, and lane assist beeps still come through the truck speakers or do those come through that small external speaker?
Truck chimes are all unchanged. The small additional speaker is for google maps and waze (example) if you are using your FM radio for example
Does it still support the 360 camera
Yes
Do you think the anti glare screen protector they sell is necessary or needed?
I am installing one soon. I will cover it in a video
Why don't you use the wifi built into the truck?
You can. I don’t have an active plan at the moment
Hey let me know if you figure out a way to bypass or figure out a setting that will sync the Bluetooth properly through video apps to fix the delay issue.
I will 'IF' there is solution
How’s the audio? Is it still as bold as the original stereo? I mostly listen to Sirus or HD radio, both of which sound great. I’m curious if there is any degradation.
I want to confirm this before buying, will the Netflix or TH-cam app work while in motion? And will your current vehicle wifi subscription work with this?
Yes and yes. This is spoken about in my review and other people’s reviews
