THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST RUINED MY ENGINE

  • The dealership always does a great job with the car in terms of maintenance when that time comes around; however, this last time, was a different story. Considering the dealership is roughly 40 miles from my house, I was left with tough decsions on how to fix it or get it there. Luckily, they fixed the issue for free and I had no damage to the engine. Need to mention The car does not have an oil leak. It was checked and I have put close to 3,000 miles on it since the discussed oil service.

    Glad I watched this vid. I go in tomorrow for my 1st and last free oil change on my '23' SS. The car only has 2200 mi. on it but I get one free oil change within the 1st yr. of purchase.

    This is exactly why I always do my own oil changes. I just bought a 23 SS and I would be absolutely livid if this happened to me. Sweet ride by the way, love the interior color.

      You have an warranty on your car for 5yrs or 60k if you have no proof of oil change and something go's wrong with the engine they are off the hook to fix your car . And any mods to the engine the warranty will no longer good.

    I do my own oil changes. Usually the entry level guys are changing oil and changing tires. Even if they put the correct amount of oil in your car you have no idea if they used the correct weight, if it was synthetic or not, or the quality of the oil they’re using. If you do it yourself you know exactly what is going on your car.

    The question is how much damage was done that may not really show up until the car is out of warranty?

    Change your own oil. Dealers use large tanks of whatever oil they want that collect moisture. Then gets refilled and never emptied all the way.

    After you talked about your oil.I went outside and checked my oil. I have gray carpet and I told the dealer about covering up my seat and make sure you put paper down and when he gave me the car my light gray carpet had grees makes by my gas pedal. I when right back into the dealership and told the boss about the problem and he said he would call a detailer to clean my carpet. Yes you have to check everything when taking your car to the dealership

    I have a completely different issue... Starter and maybe flywheel are bad and each time I take it to the dealership they say oh this is normal see ya later. I have gone to several dealerships and I'm on the verge of just selling my Camaro. I know its that issue since only on start do I hear the issue its VERY frustrating. A thud and twice it has made a metallic grind noise (again only on start) Love American dealers am i right?

    I would have been LIVID! Thankfully you didn't have any damage🙏🏼 They got lucky on this one. Hopefully they learned from it and implement some changes to prevent this in the future for other customers.

      What exactly is the range device, I have a 23 2SS and have heard a few things about but not much, thanks

    • @JCSCUSTOMS
      @JCSCUSTOMS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisbartlett708 it’s a device that plugs into your OBD port that keeps your car in v8. Basically bypasses the afm system; therefore you car doesn’t drop cylinders and the afm valves don’t operate. I have a full video here: th-cam.com/video/tpL-0S8nEt0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9vU6s-W96ADAkkV8

      Oil gets low to a point it won't show on the dipstick. If they didn't put oil the car your rods would be knocking like crazy not long after leaving the dealership
