Usually, when a band gets older, they tend to play their songs slower. But it's the opposite with Interpol. It shows that they still have a lot of energy
Hah hah - that was the story with Boris Williams of The Cure. Apparently he would push the limits of how fast some of the songs could be played live to get off earlier.
You're a prick. I know you're not a musician. You can't imagine the level of respect that a musician has for their audience. And you have no clue what the job of a drummer is. They serve the song, the lead, the singer. They follow. You're an absolute idiot I have deep contempt for your comment.
There was a span of time from like 2018-2021 where he just sounded like absolute dogshit. Recently though he hopped off smoking and his voice sounds awesome
I saw them live about a week ago with a stand in drummer because Sam is unwell. Everyone I spoke to that has seen them on this tour has said that the replacement drummer is just that slight bit better at playing the songs as they were written lol. Sad I didn’t get to see Sam play live but the experience I think was overall better.
it got faster and faster as the years went on
it got worse and worse as the years went on.
Saw them live 2 weeks ago and couldn’t believe how fast Sam was pushing the beat. Daniel and Paul were behind the whole song.
When I saw them play Angels, Sam came in at like twice the bpm Paul was playing at lol. Cool they don't use a click.
The editing is so smooth, nice job
damn it really did evolve. gonna end up being a sick d&b ultra-fast song in a few more years..
😂
That Glastonbury 2005 performance was legendary
videos like this make me glad youtube exists
I love Interpol it is one of my favorite bands and also Obstacle 1 is my favorite song from Interpol
i love you too man

What an absolutely amazing continuous compilation of a band playing the same song over a span of 18 years! Whoever put this together! YOU ROCK!
Thank you!
The drummer just figured the faster I play this, the sooner it's over. After all the times playing this I don't blame him.
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard why be in a band if you’re sick of playing

Damn. I can't get over Carlos
Paul Banks has a damn fine set of pipes, to be able to sing that 17 years later almost perfectly is pretty damn good

Recently though he hopped off smoking and his voice sounds awesome
he sounds like a dying goat lol
he was handsome af in 2014
Good job , thanks a lot. A tune for the ages.
Nightcore: Hey can w-
Interpol: Way ahead of you buddy.
God the 2003 cover is godly
2015 sounds like you’re between dimensions
regardless of tha year, i cant hear tha interplay between tha marquee moon esque bass & tha stacatto main guitar line witout goosebumps
This guitar riff remember me the Masterpiece of Television : "Marquee Moon" ! ❤
cada vez la toca mas rapido! de post punk al punk jajaja
Fun fact : in 2001 at ''la route du rock'' in France Paul was drunk...
Absolutely smashed😂
There’s nothing like 2007 Paul banks…
he was nothing without carlos. none of them were
im glad i saw them in 2002
2002&2014 this is ideal and perfection! My favorite!
Best band ever ! My favorite forever! Paul is my god.
Evolution of DK's footwork as well. :D
Wow! My fav song!
great edit!
2017 is when you start to notice the wear and tear on Paul's voice
I don’t know what happened to live Paul Banks since Marauder. He ALWAYS weating sunglasses and singing like a machine
He probably died and was replaced by a cyborg.
@@jetm well, he quited smoking and his performances in this tour are AMAZING. I’m loving it
@@zejrlima_ how do you know he quit smoking?
he became the marauder
what a fab idea...saw em last week in London village
sam the most professional rusher ever

I wish I was there in 2002 in that live. I don't care much for the rest
Alguien aqui ? De los que los hayan visto en el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México en 2024? ❤🖤
2003>
Nice man!
Carlos missing thunderous Bass in later years is like New Order without Peter Hook. Great band but they need Carlos.
2:12 POUR AND AGING
Can you link the 2014 clip?

I'm pretty sure it's this one
It's Glastonbury.
Lol why they go so fast now
It seems more like a involution
it is
A what now?
deevolution???? what in the hell is an involution
What the fuck is an involution?
Interpol fans after making up new words for the dictionary
2014 paul was badass
bruh they gotta slow the song down, it sounds tighter when it's slowed to the tempo of the album version. Fast sounds way to jumbled.
paul only got hotter...crazy
He's definitely aging. Not poor tho, but aging
It only took the bass player 2 years to learn how to bass. Not too shabby
