Omori community keeps creating masterpieces! This animatic is head canon to me now. I like to think Kel, Aubrey and Basil would hang out like this together. Hero is in college and Sunny moved away, so they're only three left now. Your work is one of those that organically expand the game's world and this is something I appreciate the most.
Thank you, I have been struggling with heavy depression for a long time and felt as if I've lost my identity so I felt so numb to the point I couldn't even cry or laugh these past couple months. Watching how you illustrated Basil's journey against his own depression and finding his own strength gave me comfort and hope, even if a little bit, especially when I feel like I don't have anyone but myself right now.

The acting alone would have made this video perfect, but that coupled with the animation and music, makes this video probably the best Omori animation I’ve seen. When the shadow sunny said "You may follow my footsteps, but only you can make the path" it felt like a love letter to Omori. Like here is this game about a man facing through his trauma, and everyone wants to forgive themselves just like he did. But it's just a videogame character, yes we can follow in his footsteps, however only we can make the right path ourselves

Already starting off with Basil throwing away his shears because of what he did to Sunny, not trusting himself with them, and then seeing his grandma's room... how much must his house just feel tainted to him, from everything that happened? At least he can find comfort in his plants. Kel and Aubrey staying good friends is great, and I'm glad to see they've forgiven Basil so quickly. I doubt Aubrey would have it in her to stay mad at him after everything. Seeing him finally forgive himself as well, inspired by Sunny and the reconnection with his friends, is beautiful. Awesome job.
In Omori we see that stranger is the representation of the real Basil that Sunny didn't accept as him, stranger lead the way to the truth for Sunny resemble Sunny's own POV when he didn't recognize Basil (the truth photo narrative) during him following the boy to the backyard. Maybe that's why it's called “Stranger” because Sunny can't believed Basil would do such a thing, but despite that, Stranger is also a symbol of Sunny missing him. Notice how the journey in the headspace literally centered around the time Omori began his journey finding Basil. So in Basil's POV, Stranger Sunny is the Sunny that Basil did not accept as the “real” Sunny, yet still longing to find.

The voice acting is really good the background and art style as well, also can't believe Kel and Basil had the same voice actor all of the VAs were what I would imagine them sounding like. Also this brought back the feels when playing OMORI for the first time... ahhhhh but still amazing video, the random animatic at the end though was pretty random lol but good art

i may sound stupid for not noticing this before but i think basil has separation anxiety he literally *requires* sunny in literally everything i see that has the two of them in plus basil seems over protective of sunny especially in the fight against him idk about everyone else but to me those are some pretty clear sign that someone has separation anxiety
Basil seems to have issues with codependency, specifically he seems to form anxious attachments I never really saw Basil having anxiety in general, the only real reasons I've seen him get anxious are about specific fears and subjects such as: 1. The truth 2. People leaving him 3. Burdening/hurting others 4. Letting his deeper emotions show Anyway that's just my theory, A GAME THEORY
I can’t believe it took me this long to watch this. Basil is a very important character to me, ever since I saw him for the first time I’ve loved him. I’ve never related to a character so much before and I think maybe that’s why I’m so invested in him. This made me cry because it felt so right. I sympathize a lot with Basil so seeing him grow like this, like I’ve always wanted him to, like how I am now, makes me feel complete in a way. Thank you for this masterpiece and for giving my favorite character his new beginning
Oh god, the sequence with Basil and his younger self carrying the chest up the staircase and younger Basil being inspired by older Basil's determination to keep hanging on and facing their trauma. That's so powerful, and the sound and set design made it feel so isolating despite the teamwork, which is fitting since it's Basil working with his own mind. I love the gentle pacing in this animatic, and the voice acting is good too. Of course, the art! Especially some of those backgrounds, wow. x3

Man, this was truly beautiful. In the past I done some unforgivable things. I messed up one of my closest old friends for life since I allowed her near my homes abuse. And it sticks with me every day, I pay the price for what happened. And yet, I want to do exactly what Basil decides to do here. I want to keep it together. To try and be strong, it ain’t ever gonna be easy but I do try and I will keep trying. Bro, I never thought I’d be inspired by a Omori animatic but here I am. I want to be better and happy. I deserve it. The past cannot change, but I can make up for it by what I decide to do now.
This video without doubt made me cry. When basil got back up after he fell down was just amazing. When basil said that, "Even when it gets rough. Even when theres nobody to help. I LOVE EVERYTHING OF THIS. This feels really like a love letter to how the game told the story and its narration elements. The sounds effects, the pacing, dubbing, the drawings obviously and how everything combines to show something that fits naturally inside what we know of Basil's character, communicating an incredible message. The dream scene touched me particularly, those steps remind me of some earthworks that I swear I've seen one time near my place, it's one of those universal images that really pushes you to grow. Thank you, I wish more people could see your work
I came back to this video recently, after immersing myself in Omori again, and I stand back to what I said. This video is so full of hope, and all the characters feel so mature.
If these got in betweens and fully colored in, as well as a Totsukuni No Shoujo (2022) style animation that's closer to the game itself, this alongside the other full length animatics put together could legitimately pass for an official Omori movie continuation in my eyes, the direction and sound design are so good. You could tell me OMOCAT herself was behind this and I'd be like "I believe it."
I loved this series as I rewatched it again and 2nd time. I love how it focuses on the good ending and the after math, however it never reveals what the rest of the gang thinks of Sunny as it keeps in line what the game kept secret. It feels like a genuine attempt to capture what happenend. The moment Basil comes to give himself closure infront of mari's grave was a perfect touch and made me tear a bit up. I love this short series and what it had to offer. I do hope to see much more work from you in the future! As always, keep up the good work!

im a bit late, but i couldn’t go without commenting. the second of this series came in my recommended and i just spent the last hour watching these. from the storytelling, the art, the framing, to the voice acting … it’s so admirable. the still pondering shots in each part resonated with me so deeply. i’m so glad this focuses on aubrey, kel, and basil, (especially basil) sticking together. they made a promise and they’re delivering on it. the group hug at the end brought me to tears, i love them. this is such an organic way of expanding on the story of omori, i love it so much, y’all deserve every ounce of praise for this work. 💗

Honestly I love how you portrayed this especially with the steps and item it showed one of the basils struggling with it but then the other basils helped them and also at the end when he accepted maris death and made peace with it at the end omg as a basil kinnie I loved this
I wish I found this animatic sooner. Your interpretation is perfect in my eyes and the animatic portrays it wonderfully. The voice acting fits well and I could go on and on. Gee you can tell a lot of work went into this. Your version of Kel has pretty much replaced the one in my head. I feel you got Aubrey and Basil's personalities down pretty good too. Though I gotta say after all these animatics I've been seeing recently, you kinda get the feeling that nobody really talks like Basil does in real life. It works a bit better in writing I guess, not that this wasn't great anyways.

I watched this a while ago while I was still in my omori faze, and I think that I was so used to seeing sadness and grief everywhere that this didn't hit as hard. Me rewatching this now, I started tearing up towards the end. Nailed it dude
Finally found time to watch the whole series and I love how there's so much attention to little details and metaphoras, for example the amplification of Basil's footsteps which creates a conflict between everything else and him being the focus of attention in an horrific stage, or the way he has to carry a heavy chest with his younger self over the stairs, which is the equivalent of the sentence "getting over it". That's great stuff you got there mate, nice!

This whole trilogy had me in tears man :( How tragic everything turned for just a bunch of kids. I genuinely think that all this could be canon, and that makes me love it even more. Actually I'm pretty sure that scene with Basil staring out the window was a nod to how he did the same thing before deciding to off himself and Sunny.

Man, this was truly beautiful. In the past I done some unforgivable things. I messed up one of my closest old friends for life since I allowed her near my homes abuse. And it sticks with me every day, I pay the price for what happened. And yet, I want to do exactly what Basil decides to do here. I want to keep it together. To try and be strong, it ain’t ever gonna be easy but I do try and I will keep trying. Bro, I never thought I’d be inspired by a Omori animatic but here I am. I want to be better and happy. I deserve it. The past cannot change, but I can make up for it by what I decide to do now.

This video without doubt made me cry. When basil got back up after he fell down was just amazing. When basil said that, "Even when it gets rough. Even when theres nobody to help. Im still going to be ME." That made me ball my eyes out of happiness- The voice acting, The animation, the story line, And basil just not giving up is beautiful! I LOVE EVERYTHING OF THIS.
This feels really like a love letter to how the game told the story and its narration elements. The sounds effects, the pacing, dubbing, the drawings obviously and how everything combines to show something that fits naturally inside what we know of Basil's character, communicating an incredible message.
The dream scene touched me particularly, those steps remind me of some earthworks that I swear I've seen one time near my place, it's one of those universal images that really pushes you to grow.

I came back to this video recently, after immersing myself in Omori again, and I stand back to what I said.
This video is so full of hope, and all the characters feel so mature.
If these got in betweens and fully colored in, as well as a Totsukuni No Shoujo (2022) style animation that's closer to the game itself, this alongside the other full length animatics put together could legitimately pass for an official Omori movie continuation in my eyes, the direction and sound design are so good. You could tell me OMOCAT herself was behind this and I'd be like "I believe it."
I loved this series as I rewatched it again and 2nd time. I love how it focuses on the good ending and the after math, however it never reveals what the rest of the gang thinks of Sunny as it keeps in line what the game kept secret. It feels like a genuine attempt to capture what happenend. The moment Basil comes to give himself closure infront of mari's grave was a perfect touch and made me tear a bit up. I love this short series and what it had to offer. I do hope to see much more work from you in the future! As always, keep up the good work!

im a bit late, but i couldn’t go without commenting. the second of this series came in my recommended and i just spent the last hour watching these. from the storytelling, the art, the framing, to the voice acting … it’s so admirable. the still pondering shots in each part resonated with me so deeply. i’m so glad this focuses on aubrey, kel, and basil, (especially basil) sticking together. they made a promise and they’re delivering on it. the group hug at the end brought me to tears, i love them. this is such an organic way of expanding on the story of omori, i love it so much, y’all deserve every ounce of praise for this work. 💗

Everything about this is amazing. I normally don't even watch animatics but when this got recommended to me and I saw the amount of work it had I just had to watch it. The art is beautiful, the voice acting is great and the characters are on point, good job for making such an incredible animatic

I feel you got Aubrey and Basil's personalities down pretty good too. Though I gotta say after all these animatics I've been seeing recently, you kinda get the feeling that nobody really talks like Basil does in real life. It works a bit better in writing I guess, not that this wasn't great anyways.

This was amazing! As I've said in a past one of your videos, I have no familiarity with Omori, so I feel I'm missing some context. That aside, this is amazing as a video of itself. The composition and art is incredible. Something tells me you've been studying up on Akio Jissôji, LOL. The lack of music was eerie and made me on the edge of my seat. Overall, excellent work. I watched this a while ago while I was still in my omori faze, and I think that I was so used to seeing sadness and grief everywhere that this didn't hit as hard. Me rewatching this now, I started tearing up towards the end. Nailed it dude
Finally found time to watch the whole series and I love how there's so much attention to little details and metaphoras, for example the amplification of Basil's footsteps which creates a conflict between everything else and him being the focus of attention in an horrific stage, or the way he has to carry a heavy chest with his younger self over the stairs, which is the equivalent of the sentence "getting over it". That's great stuff you got there mate, nice!

How tragic everything turned for just a bunch of kids. I genuinely think that all this could be canon, and that makes me love it even more. This must have been a lot of work, but you truly made a wholesome animatuon trilogy. I loved how you dealt with their friendship after finding out the truth, and how I could get some little references to game events.
