I like the idea of sunny being so skillful, like knowing how to please his friends, or at least how to make them busy and happy at the same time, knowing a lot of lenguages and knowing how to sew, but he just doesnt notice how masterfull or how good of a friend he is, maybe a consequence of mari perfeccionism or his parents(most likely father) expectations, that could also lead to him freaking out when stressed. So he is just as perfect if not more than his sister but never aknowledge it, always seeing Mari as what he wants to be, to be perfect like her

Agreed. I feel like many people haven't talk to kids like Sunny and that's why they can't portray him properly. Though I belive he will become more talkative after the good end and has come to terms with the truth, 12 year old Sunny was definitely like this.

@@burtoncraft Ironically, the fact that Sunny has so many flaws is the reason he is able to reach the true ending. Since Mari doesn't really have anything she can overcome, she can't change which is why the interactions feel so real to how they would be in the game.
WHY DID YOU KEEP PULLING AT MY HEARTSTRINGS FOR THE WHOLE VIDEO 😭😭😭 This whole video is simply incredible, you have no idea how much it resonated with me, I was GLUED at the screen for the whole afternoon and had to pause several times because the emotional punches were too much. Stuff of this quality shouldn't be available on TH-cam just for free! I have no idea how many sprites, portraits and animations you had to make. I feel both for Mari, Sunny and their family (screw our dads), and could project myself on them way too much. (Eg 12:32 the "when we are gone" having an autistic brother experience) The writing is great, you really made Mari feel like a real, three dimensional character with a LOT of flaws; she clearly cares a lot for her brother, but often in the wrong way... So many little details, she really felt human. This isn't just a tribute to Omori that fuses perfectly with canon(for the flashback obviously), it's a wonderful artistic expansion. And then there's the final part in the present... I see this is inspired by an Omari AU, I think I might read it at some point! You even put a song at the end... It's better if I'd stop, or I'd end up overanalyzing everything. I will spam this video where I can, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it. I won't disappoint you, sister...

I see what you mean and as I said I liked how you explored this perfectionist side of her personality; my personal interpretation was a bit different (given my own life experiences), as while she puts the concert (still a year away!) and her perfectionist desires first, and would really love to "fix" this stuff just with some yoga, she STILL recognizes that Sunny needs help phycologically, help that she is not able to provide, and that's even more tragic considering how she's probably the ONLY ONE in her family thinking about this, feeling this responsibility. (I had this exact conversation about my brother some years ago, "his family is not going to be around for him forever", and it also felt like I was the only one who cared about his future in this regard. It forces you to grow up. Thankfully we found some wonderful professionals that are really helping him in building a future for him, and I am so proud of how much he has managed to accomplish since then) Maybe, in the canon story, if Mari had survived the fall she would have realized eventually how she was in part responsible for this situation, and hopefully change her ways... In one way she doesn't see him ready for any sort of romantic relationship (maybe correctly), holding her relationship with Hero as a standar, the tought of Sunny having those kinds of feelings for anyone is too alien for her due to his reputation as the baby of the group. In an other way she thinks (erroneously) that Aubrey and Kel would make a good pair since she projects her early relationship with Hero onto Kel and Aubrey and has become attached to the idea. Hero for his part sees that Sunny has a crush on Aubrey and thinks it's cute and seeing Mari reject that notion for kinda rubs him the wrong way. As for the kiss at the end, Mari is a teen and she has the hots for Hero.

This was a really interesting video to watch. It truly adds another layer to MARI's character as a whole. Especially in the AU where SUNNY died instead. I wish I got the rush of emotions others got while watching this video though.

Just finished watching this, and it was great. Your drawn cutscene in particular was really a great addition. My one question is that is the ending supposed to be a cliff hanger to something else, and open ended ended for us to fill in the gap, or did the worst occur and I'm just too stupid to get it?
On the original story that this was inspired by, Mari survives and is sent to the hospital where she battles Nieta, her alter ego in this AU. I didn't animate that part because... The scene didn't resonate with me the same way Sunny vs Omori did, but I left Hero vs Mari as that's the part that inspired me. So I left it open to interpretation to the audience this time so you can read the original and see for yourself how this concludes or you can make your own conclussion. Thank you for questions.

Holy fucking shit wow that is one of the best Omori animations I've ever seen. With most Omori fan content, the way the characters behave and their dialogue often feels really off and too far from the original game, but with this it all feels natural and like the characters are behaving like they would do, which is something that only a minority of Omori fan animations have achieved. That combined with this realistic depiction of what might happen if Sunny is the one to die and not Mari is why I think this is one of the best Omori animations ever made
Mari and Hero talking about Aubrey and Sunny made me laugh so hard lol the rest of this was actually genuinely pretty sad but i would love to see more of this au 😭🙏
16:42 Ugh. This really shows how much people glorified Mari after she died, and didn't focus on her flaws. What she said here is... not the best. She should have done something to comfort Hero, and not tell him to just "cheer up." We all saw in the beginning how Hero comforted Mari.
To be fair, she did try to comfort him at the start (even though comforting others from their own guilt is something she is not used as she preffers that you do better next time or fix the damage you did) and she did try to spare him the grief for the whole conversation but she is not the most patient or empathetic.
Wait... So basically Sunny died instead of Mari in this Fan animation, Hero and her then hang him just like Basil did originally, then she tried to kill herself too and they end up fighting and she successfully stabed herself and endeup dying too.... And Hero is there to witness take the absolutely crushing guilty that will come for all that happening.... This isnt even cruel anymore its just straight up sadistc

Just finished watching this, and it was great. Your drawn cutscene in particular was really a great addition. My one question is that is the ending supposed to be a cliff hanger to something else, and open ended ended for us to fill in the gap, or did the worst occur and I'm just too stupid to get it?
On the original story that this was inspired by, Mari survives and is sent to the hospital where she battles Nieta, her alter ego in this AU. I didn't animate that part because... The scene didn't resonate with me the same way Sunny vs Omori did, but I left Hero vs Mari as that's the part that inspired me.
So I left it open to interpretation to the audience this time so you can read the original and see for yourself how this concludes or you can make your own conclussion.

Holy fucking shit wow that is one of the best Omori animations I've ever seen. With most Omori fan content, the way the characters behave and their dialogue often feels really off and too far from the original game, but with this it all feels natural and like the characters are behaving like they would do, which is something that only a minority of Omori fan animations have achieved. That combined with this realistic depiction of what might happen if Sunny is the one to die and not Mari is why I think this is one of the best Omori animations ever made

16:42 Ugh. This really shows how much people glorified Mari after she died, and didn't focus on her flaws. What she said here is... not the best. She should have done something to comfort Hero, and not tell him to just "cheer up." We all saw in the beginning how Hero comforted Mari.
To be fair, she did try to comfort him at the start (even though comforting others from their own guilt is something she is not used as she preffers that you do better next time or fix the damage you did) and she did try to spare him the grief for the whole conversation but she is not the most patient or empathetic.

So basically Sunny died instead of Mari in this Fan animation, Hero and her then hang him just like Basil did originally, then she tried to kill herself too and they end up fighting and she successfully stabed herself and endeup dying too.... And Hero is there to witness take the absolutely crushing guilty that will come for all that happening....

Hero and Mari didn't hang him, it was Sunny who did it. The flashback at the very end shows who were the ones who found him on that tree.
