24 hours after getting off a plane at LAX, I was at Troubadour watching Angora on my first night ever in Hollywood! My apartment building neighbors took me to the show and into the dressing room, that night I met John Corabi and his Philly bandmates, ALL were great guys and we've been friends ever since. That was 35 years ago, June 26th 1987. Read about it in the TUFF DIARIES, all found on Metal Sludge!
Great interview Jason. I'm a huge fan of johns singing from scream to motley crue I pull that motley crue cd and cassette out from time to time so many Great songs on that till death do us part is my favorite song .I can't wait to check out his band. Thanks for interviewing him .
When I was an actor on Beverly Hills 90210, we shot a scene at a recording studio in Canoga Park and Corabi and Bruce Kulick were recording a project at the studio also in another room. They invited me into the studio and then we talked in the green room. I grew up listening to The Scream and Kiss in Ireland. It was kind of surreal to be hanging with these guys. Corabi was very charismatic and had a lot of stories. A great memory. The Scream's album was great. I have a lot of respect for these Sunset Strip guys. They provided the soundtrack of my life in rainy Dublin in the 80s and now they are showing a blue collar work ethic of being true to themselves and gigging and doing their thing even though the big arenas are not feasible
I’ve met John twice and he was most excellent to hang with. I love this guy, they don’t get anymore real than this guy. He’s always a great interview and straight forward. Btw The Scream record is perfection!!!
As always, another enjoyable interview! Corabi is a straight shooter, humble, and underappreciated in scene for the quality records he's contributed to. His book is in the ballpark of 400 pages with lots of great music and non-music stories. In any case, thanks, Mr. Green! 🤟
I was in the room for most of the recording/editing of Generation Swine, and John always tells the truth about it. He was a great guy to work with and it was an extremely hard position to be in for him.
Good interview. Would love to see the director's cut/unedited version in the future to get the full interview as there was quite a bit of new tangential items discussed.
Great interview! Corabi has done many interviews similar to his time with the Crue, and his version of events is very consistent. Rock on, Jason and Corabi! Thank you!
Totally diggin' the new camera with nice background bokeh blur Jason. Very nice and professional looking for your channel. Maybe it's a green screen or blur program also. I dunno lol. Looks good though...
Corabi is great. The Union CD's were great, The Scream was great and Motley Crue 1994 is the heaviest and my third favorite Crue CD after Shout and Too Fast For Love!
John Corabi is a great team player. His co-operations are always awesome. With him there is always a great chemistry in the room for synergy effects between the involved musicians. 🤘🤘
I saw The Dead Daisies open for KISS in Grand Rapids in 2016. I was familiar with John from The Scream. Never got to see him with Motley but I've seen Motley live a few times. For the life of me I could never understand why anyone would rather hear Vince warble when you could hear an actual singer.
The Scream, MC (Nikki's -Tommy's testicles finally dropped on the 94 album) Union, Daisies, Mick Mars solo album.... anything this guy does is killer and for some reason or the other the projects fall thru the cracks. Very very disappointed Mick and him did not join forces for that Mick Mars Chinese democracy album. John is a cool dude - great talent! His unplugged album is five stars.
Great interview. Is it me or John have the attitude of I'm too old for that shit bye. I find it cool I'm a Crue fan and I liked what John did with them 👍To John 🤘
Big Motley Crue Vince Neil fan since the beginning, but that Album with Corabi kicked ass,I was blown away by it even tho it wasn’t a traditional sounding Motley Crue I was use to.”Misunderstood” would of been a great band name with Corabi.
Respectfully their first lead singer, also a founding member Jon Stevens got them off the ground well before he was unfairly dismissed and later replaced by Corbai FYI ;) But yes Crab was fantastic and certainly helped them move forward.
In this political day and age, to have someone speak truth without sugarcoating it because of monetary implications is truly rare. Corabi is that someone... Major respect to him for telling the truth without kissing former band members asses.. Definitely going to buy the book..also, great interview...
John Corabi is ALWAYS a CLASS ACT!!! So lucky to have met him multiple times, such a great and humble person!!! Buy his new book, it's a fantastic read!! Still, to this day, IMHO the '94 album is the BEST MC album of all, one of the greatest from any band, EVER!!!
What does he mean he did "three records" when in Motley? Motley The EP Quaratnery that was sold at shows during the 94 tour And what, demos for Swine ?
@@lastyle7363 Ok ... Having the Live Chat... seeing everyones responses ... kinda simulates live.... Like Jason's Xmas blog last week... wasnt live but everyones response made it funner to watch ... if ya know what i mean........ thanks for the response
Crue 94, is amazing. Just heard Mick and John's song from Mick's album. Str8 up. Corabi in Crue was amazing. I like 1 song by the Dead Daisies. I think Scream is ok. But Mick and Corabi have an amazing chemistry
they sounded so good they couldnt even sell a million records and couldnt even sell out theathers... and when they did play theaters 1/3 of the audience would walk out not even halfway through their set.... right on!!! best they ever sounded!!!! WOOOOOO!!! fake wannabe grunge!!!! YEAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!
The SCREAM... that 1 album is n was great n refreshing when it 1st came out. I had it.. all my friends had it, we'd hang out on the weekends n play.. drink beer and i remember talking about their music alot! Idont buy nickie sixx herion addiction either.. not 1 bit. I think he's a great great song writer... but his story about being a herion addict is complete b.s. to sell a book. Herion use and his stories dont jive at allllll, mostly how he remembers sooooo much! Drinking alcohol on tour constantly.... the last thing a herion addict would do.. ya anyways... john is such a great vocalist, so unique.. the second you hear his voice you know 100% who it is! He's a real musicians musician. 🤘👍🔥❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
John Corabi playing guitar made me wonder, why didn't Vince play guitar as well? I'd see him on stage with a guitar, usually on "SOS", but he does nothing with it, just uses it as a prop. Just saying.
Great interview, just too short. Motley Crue has always been a very sh..t band, but that record with Corabi is just awesome. And The Scream record is excellent also.
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Yes, I meant to say Keri Kelli who did ;play in Ratt. And I still don't think that looks like Crabby. But I could be wrong.
Motley and Ratt all hate each other but Crue had the business always sewed up. Ratt were able to do what Crue did if they stopped cutting off their own feet.
I guess, the book is for the die hard fans of John. I mean, if you did love the Mötley Crüe album in 94 and followed him to UNION to The Dead Daisies. Then I think you should be a qualified customer. 👻
Hey, just here to say Vince Neil is a horrible live singer. I saw em twice at there height, (Girls and Dr feelgood tour). He was unbearable. While the band was excellent
The album would have done nothing if it wasn't called motley crue... Nothing other than grunge sold in 1994...... Elektra regrets allowing this CD to this day
For as loudmouth and willing to talk as this guy is, you would think he'd be able to string two sentences together better. And 'is what it is' is one of the most banal and useless sayings ever
I think at this time in their live it would be cool to have him switch songs up in concert it isn't 1985 anymore so drop the ego shit and give the fans what they want to hear and leave the attorneys out
yes he is mostly rythm but he can play lead just as good go way back to the 80s and listen to his other bands Angra/The Scream I think he could handle micks leads no troubles. But i wish mick did not have to go through this crap witha band he co founded. Nikki is a CUNT. cause we all know what nikki says goes.
The Screams CD is one of the best of that era. Loved that band.
Bruce absolutely Rips on that record on guitar
Indeed 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Aggrees
Agreed.
John is a glass act. Always has been 👍🏼
Motley Crue swept the BEST Motley album under the rug!!!
Miss John and Marco in the Dead Daisies great band!
Agree. Also missing Dizzy and Richard.
Checked out of the Daisies when they left. Enough is enough. Love Glenn but for goodness sake, don't mess up with something already good.

Jason Green's the best in the business, in terms of interviewing musicians. Always enjoyable. \m/
As usual fun and honest interview and to the point.. Respect man
"It Is What It Is"......Great Job Jason!
Great interview and looking forward to reading the book... cheers 🥂 That particular Crue record is still sounding relevant and cool.
I've seen Ratt a few times, including when John and Jizzy were in the band. That was a good lineup. They put on a great show.
I was in the room for most of the recording/editing of Generation Swine, and John always tells the truth about it. He was a great guy to work with and it was an extremely hard position to be in for him.
Reading the book at present. Loving it!
Been a Crue fan since they debuted in the early 80s. The Corabi album was THE best of their career.
Great interview Jason. I love people that tell it like it is and dont hold back.

By far musically and lyrically the best Motley Crue album!!!!!
Love Corabi. Amazing singer/songwriter and a straight shooter. The s/t Mptley album is the only one in their catalog I still listen to.
Randy Castillo was in Motley Crue I guess I missed that........
Yep. He was their drummer for a while back when Tommy Lee had left the band.
John is 1 legit fooker… I met him a long time ago with Chris Duncan… John is 1 hell of a nice person
Saw John with Ratt he did a solid job with them
I was blown away when I heard about the legal bill. What a nightmare.

Jason Green, Absofknlutely Fantastic Interview with John Corabi 🦀
Any info on the accompanying vinyl? Is it a vinyl single of his two recent songs or something else?
I read the book, but wanted to keep the lp sealed
What does he mean he did "three records" when in Motley?
Motley
The EP Quaratnery that was sold at shows during the 94 tour
And what, demos for Swine ?
Motley 94 album, Quaratnery, & Gen. Swine. I also heard they recorded a bunch of stuff for an album that never came out. I can’t back that up though.
Great interview but way too short. I wish he was asked about Union and The Dead Daisies.
