A channel milestone! A well rounded interview with an iconic musician. Excellent skill as an interviewer. YOU LISTEN and know when to lead to a different question, prod for more details, or use the answer to go on a slight tangent. Any fan of QR, Rudy, Randy Rhoads(I'm a superfan), or the "80s genre" of music should see this interview! Only 1 flaw- his career is so legendary this could've been about 18 hours long and still not covered everything! 😂 well done!
I had the opportunity to meet Rudy when he was with Dio. I also had the honor to talk to him and Wendy Dio on a radio show in Los Angeles. I meet Dio and many others Dio was such a great guy and story teller. The biggest loss in my opinion in rock/metal history. Thank you Jason for sharing this interview. Rudy is such a fantastic guy.
Icon, Legend, Inspiration!!! Rudy is the model and pioneer of everything any rock/metal player could ever want to be. Class act, consummate professional. Thank you for this interview, Jason!
Rudy Sarzo honestly seems like one of the most grounded and friendly people in the music industry. Especially considering his history and impact on music. He seems to be the type of person you would want to be part of your life or career.
Great interview Jason, seen a few interviews with Rudy yours is the best imo. You are easy to talk to and funny that makes these interviews A+ quality. Rudy is a Legend!! 👍🏼✌🏼🤘🏼
I recall meeting QR after a show 15 years ago. I told Rudy that his bass playing on Speak of the Devil is some of the best I’ve ever heard. I recall him looking at me with surprise. He was very cordial and thanked me, but I still feel that bass tone and playing is some of the best I’ve heard. Love that record. I met him and his brother many years later when they were playing with Geoff Tate. It was an honor to meet such a legend. Read his book twice. Very good read.
I was at London's Astoria during Dio's recording of Holy Diver live and Randy was smokin' that bass. It was an absolute honor to have witnessed a legend. He surely put a huge smile on my face and that's what life should be all about.
Speak of the Devil is an awesome album, Brad did a great job. But that's the album is the straw that broke the camel's back for Randy, he decided he would do it and then leave after the Diary tour. Of course, he never got to play on ut.
In 1983 my cousin came down from Indiana to Kentucky I was 5 years old head Quiet Riot Metal Health on tape with his Walkman because of him and that tape is why I'm Metal Head Today
He looks incredible for his age but wow what a story. Enough here for a biopic. Alice Cooper; Ozzy and Lemmy were inspired by the Beatles. He's so right.
We left Cuba in 1980 to Miami when I was 7 in 83 I discovered motley Crue shout of the devil I started playing drums Rudy I heard went to Miami high I live blocks from there he's famous I'm semi famous
I understand what Rudy is saying. I just don't have any vested interest in religion. I'm glad we have the freedom to exercise whatever traditions we agree with. I'm also glad that Rudy is free from his country of origin to be who he has become. Thank you, Jason and Rudy! You are both very appreciated.
I tend to agree with you about religion. However, spirituality and the belief in a maker, or superior force, it’s self evident for me because the universe is here. No man could have created it.
One of the best interviews that I've seen with Rudy. He's so interesting but I never realized how wise he was. He tells the truth. We need more people like that. If the ancient Greek Diogenes could have lived another 2400 years, and he stumbled across this interview, his search would have ended.
There is some sort of radio frequency coming in your feed. It's very faint but it is there on my end. It's only there on your channel. My speakers are not picking up a radio signal. It's very faint but is there and it's talk radio of some kind. I'm an audio engineer and guarantee it's not my speakers. I'm not sure if it latency which it could well be or radio. Sounds like a talk radio channel but it's so faint I can't understand what they are saying.
It takes someone with real character to leave the juggernaut that was Ozzy for Quiet Riot, a band with no sign of a successful future. Rudy cared more about being true to himself and it paid off. I was lucky to have seen him with Ozzy and Randy in early 1982. I’d also seen him with Whitesnake and Geoff Tate’s Queensryche. Btw, I’m guessing that Banali’s wife and Dubrow’s estate probably own the QR name. With what needs to be paid to the business owners - maybe 20% - plus travel, agency, and miscellaneous expenses, it makes one wonder how the band can make a living playing those fly dates.

Jason you do a good job of letting the guest talk without interrupting too often.
Thanks, not too often

As much credit as Rudy does get, it is still not enough. Absolute icon. Thanks for the great interview, Jason.
Agreed and thank you

Rudy is one of the nicest guys out there and a legend and loyal to Randy. His book is awesome, and he tried to help get Last Train Home done.
Really great interview ❤
Thanks Erin!
Thank you for providing this interview. It was the best one todate.

Saw that guy on stage 42 years ago for the Diary of a madman tour in Montreal and he still look the same!
Great interview Jason, seen a few interviews with Rudy yours is the best imo. You are easy to talk to and funny that makes these interviews A+ quality. Rudy is a Legend!! 👍🏼✌🏼🤘🏼
I appreciate that, this was a tough one for me, as there was so much to try and cover
I have seen Rudy in the tour diaries but never seen him interviewed. What a class act! Ty Jason for the great interview.

Marvelous interview. Amazing rudy is 20 years older than me and is in better shape!
Thank you, was tough to fit in so much information and yes he looks in better shape then most of us
Rudy is a Vampires.....❤😂 eternally youthful. 😉💋⚘️

1 of the great inspirational musicians in rock music!
Very good interview. I learned a lot about Rudy. Interesting to learn y he rejoined Quiet Riot.
Loved the interview..would of loved to hear him talk about the Disney record he did
I wish I knew about it? I’ll have to ask him next time I see him
Thanks

Hello Jason&Rudy

We left Cuba in 1980 to Miami when I was 7 in 83 I discovered motley Crue shout of the devil I started playing drums Rudy I heard went to Miami high I live blocks from there he's famous I'm semi famous
so nice, so cute, little innocent rockstar!!!
1980 we were picking out songs by ear from records and cassettes Just tune your guitar and hope it’s the same on the recording 😊
What are the biggest challenges about being a musician and what are the best rewards?
I keep missing these lives
I just learned a lot from this Rudy interview. 🤔
Cool, I’m glad you liked it Joe!

Great interview as always, but the background chatter whatever that may be is so annoying.
