Not a modified car issue, you simply can't drive a car in Ontario without a hood.

the turbo noises from this thing are insane. I have never heard a honda sound like this.
The exhaust is quite so you can mostly only hear the turbo
@@6av1d8 yeah. and thats what makes it sound so good. im used to just hearing straightpipes and full catbacks off of ebay with 4inch cans for a muffler. finally hearing what a honda should sound like makes me feel so damn good

No he has no blow off valve so the turbo surges its actually bad for the journal bearing

K20z3 (The one you've got) stock rev limiter is 8600. My FG2 likes being between 6700 and 8100. I'm sure that log manifold kills power at the top end, but she'll be alright revving up there.

I just want to say Robbie inspired me to get back into hondas, and I just built a K24 turbo eg hatch. I can vouch for the sidewinder manifold, I made 458whp 358wtq on a PLM sidewinder manifold and a gt3071 turbo. I recommend the sidewinder, it just gets a bit hot under the hood.
LOL, I put a similar turbo on a 4.6L V8 thunder bird... in the process of taking a MAP sensor and modifying its output to congruently ramp progressively in parallel with and also eliminating the thermal transfer delay of the MAF sensor. not all tuning is done inside of the ECU. I am fairly sure stock non programable ECU's can be tuned, but its more complicated, resistive wires recalculating physical positioning of sensors, more work.
but anyways at 195hp the turbo free spools with the V8 engine up to -2psi @ 5200rpm, when the automatic transmission shifts the volume flow to pressure ratio goes up. 5psi on a V8 goes over 3 or 400lbft depending on the rpm.
but anyway that 400hp advertisement on the listing is about 48'000 to 58'000 rpm on the turbine spindle free spooling with a old 4.6L 2 valve that has the older cast drop forged steel pistons at -2psi. so if it can be spun up to 110'000rpm it would blow 400hp, but ya needs a proper scavenging header.
Something the boarder patrol will actually get antsy at when they see in in the mirror checking for stuff under the car... cant see in from the engine bay.

I actually like the new direction that the civic is going in. Yeah, the budget build would have been cool but what it has become is much, much cooler. It reminds me of the civics from the OG F&F movie.
imo ramhorn is the move! sidewinder has downpipe heat concerns with firewall brake lines. 3" exhaust is a must on K. sidwinder's boost creep too, so it's hard to control the boost without the wastegate being prioritized/bigger. get some boost control!!

It sounds so good hitting limiter at 8k, some K20's are fine up to 8.5k so as long as it's not going past that you should be alright, I love how much turbo noise there is, this is definitely the sound I'd want if I built a Civic.

I feel like you could tune that car further and stay stafe.
If you had an egt temp gauge you'd be able to tell how bad the chocking is and wether you can add more boost safely, and I bet you can run at least 12psi, landing you at like 320hp, while not suffering too bad from the exhaust backpressure.
Edit : Apparently some dude on a honda forum made 380 on the same manifold, I think he had a bigger turbo tho.

Honestly from a person that doesn't have a car that goes to 60 lol for you to put a motor that wasn't meant to be in there in the first place in a tiny economy box make 260 have plans to make much more that should be a pretty big accomplishment as of right now This is just your phase one of the project constantly learning constantly sharing your journey of you learning it's dope not disappointed at all

1:55 i think your next build should be a turbo VR6 in an VW Corrado, they drive so nice and can take a around 400HP on Stock internals. dont know how much they cost in canada but they are great cheap power in the UK.
