Billy doesn't wanna get in. He supported Axl when he refused G&R's nomination recently so he still holds this sentiment. Kinda ironic how he nominated Pink Floyd in the 90s tho
Not really. I mean I get what you mean, but Its on a platinum album meaning it has be loved by many. So maybe it's not so underrated as you think, maybe the Smashing Pumpkins don't play it as much as they should. But what the hell do I know, take care.
@@beigekiwi6080 not a lot of people know this song tho. What are you a fuckin zoomer who's father told them about this band? This song is underrated and it has to do with it being on a platinum album in which people only cared about the hits not the deep cuts. The singles on this album won multiple awards like record setting at the time. Go back to reddit asshole. Every other song on this album besides zero and bullet with butterfly wings is underrated as fuck and the shits over 2 hours long. They blessed us humans with this. So shut the fuck up and enjoy it.
He actually added a bunch to most of the fills. I'd rather it wasn't exactly like it was recorded because that's the surprise of different shows! He is absolutely a master though.
billy corgan in my opinion doesn't receive enough credit. The guy is a phenomenal rock star . His guitar playing is outstanding. And he is also a great singer. His screams make this song bad ass. Which it is an awesome song regardless.
I love billy and think he’s a great singer too, but I think he kinda sucks here. He sounds like he’s either sick or is extra hungover. That’s just me personally tho. I think he’s incredible otherwise and this is their most underrated song
@@dereklenz3340Billy always has sounded kinda weird live, I think it’s because of the way he changes singing styles mid song and mid sentence so frequently in his songs
Absolutely! He is very smart technically and also extremely soulful. He was a mad genius with the mixolydian mode especially. And in my opinion a pioneer with studio experimentation and recording. Fuck the snobby guitar world for not recognizing a truly great and original player.
+Benji H. oh anyone who doesn't believe he pioneered in so many direction in studio recording just isn't paying attention, all of his greatest hits from this album were so "new" sounding for the time.
Danny355 I went to that tour in Minneapolis. Didn’t get why he was screaming so much and why every time he screamed the crowd went nuts. Sounds like ass.
wow, crazy to think that in the future i will be saying this... been loving the pumpkins since i was 6, now im 14 in grade 9. i hope my love for sp stays as strong as yours. best band ever. first concert i went to was sp and ive never been happier in my life!
The pumpkins have had insanely good eras, but this has to be the bands best. The looks, aesthetic, chemistry, and sound overall is astounding. Greatest band of all time if you ask me
Thanks for posting this footage! This is probably the one MCIS song I'd pick above most to hear live, and I still haven't heard it live. Would love for them to bring it back to upcoming tour setlists. This song is just such an incredible wall of sound, just keeps building and buidling up.
James Iha is playing an Adam Jones signature guitar in this one. I think that’s pretty cool. Or maybe he just flipped the humbucker around on one of his silverburst Les Pauls. Either way, that’s cool.
The year I was old enough for my parents to let me go to a Pumpkins show, Jimmy left and was replaced by a bold guy with glasses for the Ava Adore tour....... F.........................K!!!!

Eminem got in it before them so

Such an underrated song...
Warning: Hot Take- The solo in the studio version is the best Billy ever wrote. The note selections and phrasings are so cool.

Doubt you will find a single true SP fan that doesn't seriously rate this song.
Huge Jimmy Chamberlin fan. This guy never makes a mistake and plays every note exactly like he played it on the album. He is a master.
+Tim Lennon I agree. JC is right up there with Neil Peart & Carter Beauford
+Alicia Buehler more like Damon Che level!

One of the best drummers I've ever heard. He might be the best even; I can't think of anyone I'd say is clearly better than him.
Yeah he is one of the better ones, but far from the best.

and an overrated singer!!!!!!
This is the best song the pumpkins ever wrote its so epic. And the lyrics are pretty awesome!!
Love this song so much!
❤️❤️❤️❤️love it sooo much
Spot on. Very foretelling about the future that is now the present.
*Stares in Muzzle*
Billy Corgan is the ultimate rock star, I just love watching him shred. SP is my favorite band of all time.
As a rhythm guitarist, this is one of my favorite songs to play - interesting, challenging, and fun!!
the way Billy and James look at each other right before they end the song
this dude had supernatural thoughts that we were all lucky enough to capture for all eternity it will be.
just gonna say it, this is probably their best song
Better than Soma?
@@beck204 They're both easily in my top 5
Here in 2023, and this is still my personal favorite of theirs. 💙 SP 💙
Love James. Such a great partner to billy and never a show off. Class act
Love the little ending lick with Billy and James

😢 I miss 2005...would watching live videos constantly, played the albums on guitar and drums. Billy saved me ❤❤
Billy Corgan is such an underrated everything.
Except singing.

yes yes yes !!! You are exactly right.
I’m glad I grew up thinking this is how music is supposed to be.
Right there, at the end, that little look Billy gives James. That tells you, these two couldn't stay apart forever.
This band had it in spades, awesome songs, excellent musicians, class Live....even b side songs were fantastic..
The sound of my youth😍
2:39 Goosebumps. Every time
Same here ! Just insane
Music of the Gods. One of my greatest musical influences.
1:13 look at Iha's hand. his hand syncs with Jimmy's drum fill. love that.
should have so many more views. holy wow what a performance.
those screams give me the chills every time.
Saw them first time '96, Adelaide. Still awesome after many years.
Cool, yeah their farewell(kind of) tour would have been awesome. I missed it, but my sister saw them in Tokyo that year.
Me too! Still the best gig I have attended
2:49 the synth/piano really makes it even more powerful.

First song I ever learned to play completely on my first guitar ❤️ The Pumpkins were pure teenage everything
Che meraviglia.....una goduria per le orecchie e per gli occhi.......
the best band ever!
Le break le plus efficace et le puissant de l histoire du rock !! 💪
Just found out about this song yesterday, and holy cow this is an amazing song. Super underrated.
Ppl romanticize the relationship between the members of the band but my god the amount of drama and heartache that’s between them is insane.
Just one of the great tracks from one of the best albums ever bestowed upon us music fans: Mellon Collie And the Infinite Sadness.
2 CDs worth! And virtually perfect

Maybe his best lyrical effort. Just wonderful all the way around.

Look at the 2:30 mark. He's playing with his left hand only. Love this band.
Man the Pumpkins were brutal in these days, in a good way. Just wrote badass songs on a whim
Never having seen them live I never realized how incredibly attractive D'Arcy was. 😍
She got plastic surgery after she left the Pumpkins so she looks different now
Guardington Keke ... ok
What an incredible performance🔥🔥🤘🏻💯
