9:25 Now, the endlag on that move if you land with it is even worse that Up-Air's. Like, if you shield Octoslash, you can punish Sephiroth with THUNDER. RAW THUNDER. And given how light Sephiroth is... Yeah.
An explanation of Sephiroth being such a lightweight is *(SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED FFVII DON'T LOOK DOWN BELOW)* By FFVII he's actually dead, during the Nibelheim incident (also covered in Crisis Core) he dies while fighting Cloud, he falls into the Lifestream, losses the lower half of his body and dies but his consciousness is able to fuse with the lifestream because of his pure hatred and he also has Jenova cells which allows him to manifest as fake Sephiroths made up of parts of Jenova.
Put him in the hands of those tournament players who play with their controller's upside-down with only to fingers actually playing, and you'll get to feel true dispair
The only question I have left is how does shadow flare determine the knockback angle? It seems to always send the opponent towards the blast zone. Does it choose to send the opponent away from Sephiroth? Or just towards the nearest blast zone?
Shadowflare will always send away from Seph, you can actually use that for easier kill setups, especially once you get shadowflare's timing down (which is about 4.5-5 seconds for 3 balls, and about 6 for 5 balls.) A perfect example is full charge side B + F-throw at ledge, it's usually a 0-death depending on the match up, and at the very least it's very good at establishing tempo
Regarding One Wing Mode/OWM disappearing, it typically disappears (in singles) when Sephiroth takes a stock and has dealt 65% or more, or he dies. Info courtesy of Sethlon This is why sometimes you get a kill with the wing, and it persists through your next stock before disappearing at seemingly random

fun fact: the amount of shadow orb you get is actualy depending on how much damage the original hit does, as seen when it gets reflected you'll get more orbs on yourself
with characters that have this dynamic hitboxes I think it would be neat to see all of them "added" up to see just exactly how much ground the move covers
The way wing works to leave after getting a ko is when someone dies, the threshold of wing changes, and if your percent isn't in the threshold change damage percent, it goes away

By FFVII he's actually dead, during the Nibelheim incident (also covered in Crisis Core) he dies while fighting Cloud, he falls into the Lifestream, losses the lower half of his body and dies but his consciousness is able to fuse with the lifestream because of his pure hatred and he also has Jenova cells which allows him to manifest as fake Sephiroths made up of parts of Jenova.
I'd have loved to see how these big sweeping hitboxes were interpolated between frames. Regardless lovely work as usual
Put him in the hands of those tournament players who play with their controller's upside-down with only to fingers actually playing, and you'll get to feel true dispair
5:53 "Look at the top of his head!"
Yo anarcho-sephirothism thumbnail let’s go.
The down tilt is the Standardized SOLDIER Slide Maneuver (SSSM) from now on in my mind.
“After all it wouldn’t be a dlc character without a unique state changer”
Byleth: am I a joke to you?
The only question I have left is how does shadow flare determine the knockback angle? It seems to always send the opponent towards the blast zone. Does it choose to send the opponent away from Sephiroth? Or just towards the nearest blast zone?
Shadowflare will always send away from Seph, you can actually use that for easier kill setups, especially once you get shadowflare's timing down (which is about 4.5-5 seconds for 3 balls, and about 6 for 5 balls.)
A perfect example is full charge side B + F-throw at ledge, it's usually a 0-death depending on the match up, and at the very least it's very good at establishing tempo
Sephiroth is my new main, and this was really helpful! And now, I shall give quickplay despair...
Regarding One Wing Mode/OWM disappearing, it typically disappears (in singles) when Sephiroth takes a stock and has dealt 65% or more, or he dies. Info courtesy of Sethlon
This is why sometimes you get a kill with the wing, and it persists through your next stock before disappearing at seemingly random
"It wouldn't really be a DLC character without some game changing mode"
Banjo and kazooie: are we a joke to you?
Yep. Byleth too.
I just realized the video titles joke... Every adjective used to describe the hitboxes start with the same letter as the character's name.
I'm so zetta slow ^^'
POV: Your pocket doc got down air spiked by sephiroth
"my GSP is gone. Doc will no longer talk, no longer laugh, cry... or get angry... What about us...what are WE supposed to do? What is this loss? My stocks are gone. My elite smash is gone.. My smash career is over!
fun fact: the amount of shadow orb you get is actualy depending on how much damage the original hit does, as seen when it gets reflected you'll get more orbs on yourself
with characters that have this dynamic hitboxes I think it would be neat to see all of them "added" up to see just exactly how much ground the move covers
Surprisingly the hit box for the activation of Sephiroth’s final smash is bigger then his forward smash
The way wing works to leave after getting a ko is when someone dies, the threshold of wing changes, and if your percent isn't in the threshold change damage percent, it goes away
10:00 "as far as hitboxes go, its not anything special"
Of course
Its side special
was waiting for it
merry christmas
Can’t wait for the future, where Sephiroth’s hitboxes will be considered small
5:44 so thats why it hits me even when im ducking as kirby like that hitbox is stupidly low
As ridiculously stupid, complicated and overpowered as Sephiroth is, I find him the most balanced fighter to fight against in the DLC lineup
I have never felt like something that shouldn't have hit me did when I play against him
You should do Sephiroth next!
Surely Lucas' Lucrative Hitboxes next, because some of them are or seem very odd
7:08 Why is Sephiroth's direction arrow a Fire Emblem sprite?
Nice edit at 7:08
Still no Ike hit box analysis
oh well Sephiroth is awesome
i love the ff6 music in the background. it really takes me back to when i first played that
0:47 *cries in byleth*
Seriously, Byleth is probably the most honest DLC character if you exclude plant.
Byleth is pretty much a base character with how honest they are. The only gimmick they have is the funny up-B.
@@bobertjohnson4459 And ironically, it's so good as a recovery tool it feels kinda hard to use it's gimmick.
I play pkmn trainer, with ivy as my favorite, and I was constantly going "wait, that grabbed?" When she came out.
@@MercuryA2000 best tether in the game boys
And yeah, I agree, the spike is pretty hard to hit, and I say this as a Byleth main.
@@bobertjohnson4459 I play her sometimes. Not as a main or anything, but definitely one of the characters I pick sometimes.
I don't know why I like playing Byleth honestly. Nothing like my usual character, but she's just fun to me.
It is so fun to reflect the projectile
that's one good ass thumbnail. I don't even play smash and i clicked... gonna watch the whole video even though i kinda stopped caring about 5 minutes in (again, don't play smash). But you earn the full view with your thumbnail game.
I'm sad you didn't talk about whatever shenanigans are happening with his up tilt's scoop launch angles.
Something that I’d like to note is that up air and up smash deal more damage towards the end of the move!
Amazing alliterations!
Not expecting a guy with a massive sword to Claw at you with dark magic
Hmmm another guy with a humongous sword having a move(set) that isnt entirely representitive of his actually character WHAT A COINCIDENCE
3:38
more like the PS1 slide, since the belmonts do it too! (although technically, Simon did appear on SNES, the move that executes is not. I guess)
Wait until they add a character with even more range than Sephiroth!
Minmin
@@tugazu every talks about min min but no one is talking about maxmax
@@rocklettf2die664 Hes too op. If someone starts talking about him there is no way to change the topic to inferior charecters.
@@tugazu okay what about midmid
