It just so happens that I was able to find a copy of the, “I want to hold your hand” RSD single yesterday while visiting my hometown Chicago. Not able to play it until I return home- so cool to hear your take on it. Also, the Target, Meet the Beatles is a lot of fun!!
It was the 1984 reissue of Hold Your Hand pic sleeve that the cigarette was absent from Pauls hand. It came back for the 1994 reissue sleeve. And its back again.
Thank you for the video, Brian! - I don‘t know… in the old days (my days) you bought a record (we didn‘t call it vinyl) and the least you had to worry about was the pressing quality. Everything was just right, and for a fraction of today‘s prices. Now, in the „vinyl“ era, everything is proclaimed to be „super“ and „heavy“. But I‘ve just quit buying vinyls because of too much problems lately. But here in Berlin there are many little shops for used records and trade shows (is that the word?). Less money, more quality. And btw: I‘m a little sick of all the remasters and esp. remixes. Nice on the shelf, but less in the ears. I really enjoy your videos though, you have a very likeable way to present your treasures! - Greetings from Berlin, Harry
1:30 Hi Bob! 10:22 Those were the 2 albums I thought about... But an extra consideration: How long before these are SDL releases which may be Mono. For completists, it's not an issue because it's never either/or. For me, either/or is what it's all about + my age+ life expectancy! How long is Apple gonna delay these releases & can my generation hold on! Woah, hold the bus!
Those 2 US albums won’t be made into SDE’s (Super Deluxe Edition box sets). Beatle SDE’s are based on the UK releases and (in the case of these early releases) have completely different running orders. If any mono is involved they’ll be the UK mixes. So no real risk of doubling up imo
@@TonyRasmussen Oh this type of difference won't matter to me, Tony. Not on those 2 albums anyway. Different running order of tracks still = duplication to me. It's more an equation of Pressing/Mix Quality minus Estimated ETA of preferred SDL x Tolerance of my Patience.
@@BrianBringelson It sure does seem way too much. I'm glad that I still have the original locked up in a fireproof safe that my brother owns along with the original "She Loves You", with the Vee Jay record label.
I am gratified that Universal chose not to be pc and airbrush the cigarette out of Paul's hand, unlike the earlier reissues. I did not like that the disc has an LP sized hole since it is replicating a US issue. The disc just doesn't look "right." Minuscule gripe, I know I still bought both! Lol

Nice presentation/video. So far, I've purchased the single and "Second Album". Very pleased with both. 👍
The actual RSD single 45 disc looks beautiful as well as it's picture sleeve.
My local record store had a copy of the blue vinyl LP so now I have one. It sounds decent and the inserts are intact. Bereft of hype stickers.

The blue vinyl looks like the same color used for Target’s exclusive pressing of John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth” set.
So is that Czech Republic pressing plant the same one that misspelled Revolver on the Target exclusive ? Great review !
@@Onteo1 not sure they were in charge of the target release, but that was pretty ridiculous. I have one. Thanks for the comment
I’d be interested to know what record store in NJ your bought the single from. It might be near me
Why do you think Brian bought the single in NJ?

How does the single compared to the singles box set? Atleast the song IWTHYH.
@@riezexeero7392 the Singles box set I’m guessing will be much better. But truthfully I haven’t A/B’d them yet.
The 45 is selling for $42 plus taxes here in Canada. For just 2 songs, that’s a hard pass for me.
@@vitocasola4309 yeah that’s way too much.

02:46 180gr?? Ahahahhahaha a 7 inch single?? Ahahahahahhahaha
@@portugueseboy5887 misspoke there haha. Meant to say it has the same thickness as some of the 180g long players. I’m guessing this one is about 60g.

Americans never got the real albums, just compilations.
