Glad you're OK Lee. I nearly fell from my Henchmans the other day. Became complacent and over reached instead of moving them. They feel so safe that I did I didn't think and did something silly. Wake up call.

Sorry to hear about your accident Lee, lucky escape! I fell from steps while hedge cutting 2 years ago and tore the rotator cuff in my shoulder. Couldn’t lift my right arm for months and still has weakness and aches even now. Be careful! 👍🏻

Glad your ok mate. Mine are permanently locked in place. All my customers have flat gardens. But will double check they are clicked into place before I send my boy up them. And he says I don’t care about him 😂

Glad you're OK Lee, it's easy to take things for granted when you use them all the time. My Henchman 8' tripods have got a different mechanism to yours on the back leg, it's a hinged pin that goes right through the leg then drops down. The other 2 legs have got the spring pins like that.

I did the exact same thing last april. I wasnt so lucky i fell back onto a patio fractured my pelvis and broke my coxics.

Mate, be careful. You may recall our conversation some time back regarding the tripod ladder. In California they are not allowed commercially, with the exception of orchard workers. You know as well as I, unless you can wedge that leg between branches or in a hedge, it’s pretty unstable. Glad your like a ninja and landed on your feet.😀

Back in December I was up my ladder winter pruning a customer’s Wisteria, her daughter came round with her dog, he was very excited to see me and came charging in the back garden and ran into the side of my ladder, I came crashing down and hit the side of a fence and broke several ribs, I tried to put a brave face on and thought I would drive over to A&E, but as I pulled out of her drive to avoid her daughter's car, I scraped my van down the side of the neighbour's fence post, it cost me £450 to get the van fixed, that was a painful Christmas.

So sorry to hear that Lee and happy you are ok. Who would have thought it would have missed the other holes on the way down? I have always thought your ladder was cool. I have not seen any in the Southern U.S. I did not know the legs were even adjustable. Good safety tip.👍🤔❤️
Thank you...yeah that's my point about the holes...whatever stopped it locating in the original hole obviously stopped it locating in the others 👍👍( once in locked position they are great)

Now I thought you were going to say that you fell off sideways. As I own some Henchmans and I'm always having to check the level. Even if they are slightly out they can get very unstable. I've often thought about putting a spirit level permanently on the bottom of the step for a quick evaluation! Well good job your ok. And still the best ladders for hedges I've ever owned 👍
Yes they are probably the safest but I've also wobbled to the side a few times...🙈
Hiya Lee I'm just watching your videos with my cup of Horlicks. Sorry to hear about your fall, hope all is well now, I can understand you were shook up when it happened. My Window cleaner James fell off he's ladder at the end of April, he's still recovering, he damaged his Ankle as he landed on the ground. He had a cast on his leg & had to go back to Hospital 2nd week in June for an x-ray to see if its healed, I've not heard from him since, so it goes to show how it's affected him since his accident. I'm hoping he messages me soon to say he's OK now, but I know it shook him up when it happened, so you be careful out there, keep safe 👍🏼

Good to hear your ok brother! Yeh its dangerous being on the tri pods and balancing the hedge trimming and being on ladder. Im in the states and i have two tri pods, and the ones we have here dont have that lock mechanism you have so there suspeciptible to moving. i have a rope tied to minimize that and always make sure im fully implanted in the dirt or if on concrete theres a berm or lip to stop it from moving. Injuries or mistakes always happen when one is in a hurry i feel, so i always take my time to be in place for safety reasons. Take care man.

I have a new set of 10ft Henchman pro, these have a better indication for all the leg extensions and it shows if it is not in place and locked. I bought these and admit although they are very expensive they are exceptionally stable with no wobble or uncertainty about them.
All these ladders are pricey....but as you say ...are invaluable 👍

Good safety tip. I'm not too great with ladders since i fell off one a couple of years a go and really hurt myself. was not from too great a height, but i fell awkwardly. I think investing in a tripod ladder will help me get a bit of confidence back as they look safer than other designs for the sort of work we often do. What brand and size would you recommend? Join my Club my tripod ladders collapsed a few years ago. Totally my fault rushing at the end of a day didn’t check them properly. Result Brocken wrist and surgery. Now I double check everything before I use them

No I wasn’t ok ,I fell off with a Stihl hedge cutter in my hands and was bruised
I’ve lost several of those stupid spring clips off my tripod ladders and stick a screwdriver in the hole now

Glad you are not injured Lee, but it sounds like a close shave with the cutters in your hands. Health and safety is so important, the rules and regs are there because some other unlucky whatsit didn't make it. Sobering thought. As an ex-employer, I spent many hours making sure everyone knew what the safety rules were and followed them. It is the stuff of nightmares sometimes. Have good cuppa and work out a way of making sure you don't make this mistake again as it has shaken you. Once you establish a safe routine with the ladders, you will feel better about it. Positivity. 🤔🦸♂️
