Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out the video. Some of you pointed out that the fan shield doesn’t seem to actually work. After doing some extensive testing, I was unfortunately wrong on that point. In the future, I will be more thorough. Thanks to everyone who pointed it out!
Boomerangs make for interesting fusions. The lizard tails stretch out making the boomerang do damage over a large area. Flame emitters on a boomerang can light up an entire group of enemies easily.
Maybe in shrines that allow you to use your equipment but there are shrines that take away your equipment and force you to use what is available in the shrines
I don't use it often but a great fusion is a zonai cannon fused with a spear. Hold right bumper to throw, and it actually goes into an over the shoulder firing mode, essentially giving you an RPG launcher. Shield plus cannon is nice too, but the spear combo is easier to aim.
About Gibdo Bones: They are one of the only items in TotK you can get large amounts of without glitches. During Riju’s questline, there is a portion where you have to defend Kara Kara Bazaar by using Riju’s ability to take out a Gibdo hive. If you wait for Riju’s ability to charge, you can kill any Gibdo (and sometimes multiple at once) with only 1 arrow (you don’t even have to fuse anything to it.) Gibdos will always drop one bone. What you want to do is *WAIT BEFORE SHOOTING THE HIVE*. Get a bunch to follow you during the Kara Kara defense mission, shoot an arrow in the middle of them, then just collect all the bones and repeat. You get infinite arrows for this mission so just stock up on Bows. I got about 200 Gibdo bones from that mission and I still haven’t run out.
I noticed this when I got to that part and sat there for an hour playing COD zombies. Get them to follow you in a group and then use whatshernames ability when it ls recharged. Just gotta make sure to bring a good amount of arrows. (The Lionel coliseum nets you a ton each time you run it.
rocket arrows are used by constructs sometimes, do +10, and appear to make the arrow go farther than attaching a keese/aerocuda/zonai wing because it flies perfectly straight up until the moment it despawns

The hover stone arrow is awesome, nice tip, not only a good way to recover stamina but could even be used to have the “higher ground” during fights lol
I like the stick or club or any melee weapon + ice sheet, you can use the ice sheet you got to make more ice sheets to repeat the process. the weapon will create gusts of wind, as well as ice damage- so you can freeze and blow away your enemies with a single weapon- it is fragile breaking after a few hits and will melt quickly so its extremely situational. But I still think its an excellent weapon.
if you want a longer lasting alternative, fuse a frost horn to a rito weapon. Naydra's horn, frost gleeok horns, ice keese wings, and ice lizalfos horns give the ice property and keep the wi d effect from the rito blades. Its nice to see enemies get flung into the water in one fell swoop.
Another great video! I think I’m gonna have to try Hover Arrows first! I personally love fusing bomb barrels and rockets to spears, as throwing them at enemies is SOOO satisfying!
@@LionsShareYT You should defininitly try that out! With the Recall every weapon becomes a Boomerang. Speaking of: Boomerangs have some of the coolest interactions, when you fuse them with Wings, Lizalfostails or Zonaidevices.
the wing shield is actually really good to know. wings are frankly kind of useless beyond the early game, so having something useful to do with them is great information, and can save on rocket use against enemies where you need bullet time but not really height. Like Lynels and Gleeoks :p
I tried to shield surf with a wing fusion on it hoping I could sky-surf but it didn't work. I thought that was useless until this video showed it gives you a little higher bounce.
wings have one nice use, If you are in the sky, say, from a skyview tower launch, you can pull one out and itll spawn just below you. With a bit of practice, you cqn land on it and start gliding from anywhere. Its partucularly helpful to deal with stamina issues.
Very interesting list. The Gibdo bone arrows are the only thing I did before watching this vid. I use them to effectively deal with stone taluses that has their weak point at their backs which is quite hard or annoying to attack with a melee weapon.
For those I just use recall on the rocks it throws st me, after it's stunned spears work pretty well to get big damage on the weak spot. Fusing longer things to the end of the spear can help, but it's normal range should work fine
@@Xelief Spears are long enough that you can hit the back weak spots on the ground too... you just gotta walk around it first, and move when it falls over.
I thought all of these were fairly intuitive and discovered all of these on my own…. except the last one. I never thought to fuse a hover stone to an arrow!
The zonai spring box fused with a shield has a similar effect to the wing shield but the spring bounces you up much higher when you shield surf. Its really great for activating bullet time or if you need to make a quick escape
Fusing a dazzlefruit to a weapon one-shots skeleton enemies, which is very handy at night. If you fuse it to a Korok weapon, it won't immediately waste your dazzlefruit either.
I’m about to pin a comment about the fan shield because I was unfortunately wrong. :/ I thought there was a boost, but after doing testing and actually calculating rates, it doesn’t seem that there is. The hover stone arrow is definitely amazing, though.
These were legit some of the best fuse tips Ive see so far. The fan shield while gliding is gonna be a game changer for me. That and the platform arrows.
Whoa, this is super great to learn! Thanks for all these tips! There were times i had no more rock hammers, the rock shield is great in a pitch. Also i was so confused what everyone was talking about the wings fusing to shields to do bulletime and this makes so much more sense. Also another combination that's pretty cool is boomerang + lizalfos tails and boomerang + wings for long throws or massive range Also love the SS soundtrack in the video!
A korok frond and any week melee weapon, it seems like a crappy usles fuse, however, this combo, send monster Flying sky high and fall really fast to the ground, so they can die of fall damage, also it is a los of fun to watch this.
Best fused weapons i always have are the magic staff/rod/scepter. The staff is a spear charge, scepter is 2 handed charge, rod is 1 handed charge. Rod is best. I fuse them with sapphire/ruby/topaz/opal and they summon 3 bolts of ice/fire/lightning/water. Another 2 less useful but fun fuses are korok frond stick and a beehive. Korok stick generates wind, and the beehive summons bees to attack enemies.
I knew about sapphire/ruby/topaz for ice/fire/lightning but I had never tried opal to make water. I also didn't know about the beehive summoning bees. I'm going to have to try that one.
@@sharmilakrishnakumar2499 I saw each trailer as they came out so I'm sure I saw what you're talking about but I didn't remember it. 2:20 No wonder Lizalfos Tails are so freaking rare now. I've been trying to get a Fire Tail for armor upgrades for like 5 Blood Moons now. Also, the floating platforms, man, this is one of those rare "You may not have known" videos where I actually totally did not not know most of them. Except the Balloon and shield rock ones.
I’m glad you found it valuable. For Flamebreath Lizalfos Tails, I would just go to Eldin. That’s the easiest place to find them. You can sometimes find them in Gerudo Canyon as well, but Eldin is much more consistent.
@@VexylObby I know. The problem I'm having isn't finding or killing them, it's that I've killed upwards of 50 of the damn things and not one dropped a Red Lizalfos Tail.
@@NickTheGreatAndPowerful I had the same problem ! Honestly for situations where the game asks you to grind a specific item (like armour upgrade), it’s just not fun so I use the duplication glitch (easier on 1.1 but if you already updated to 1.2 there is also a pretty easy glitch!)
It's one of those massively freeform mechanics that can result in some really amazingly useful combinations in some instances. but the big caveat of it is that if you aren't particularly creative or experimental, and just use enemy horns to do big damage, it can feel kind of frustrating for not using the system to it's full potential.

Interesting. Rocket shields definitely work to propel you further, but they burn out super quickly. I’ll have to do some more testing with the fan shield.
@@LionsShareYT It may not propel you forward, but please test also to see if it slows down the rate of descent while gliding. While you don't fly faster, you fall down at a much lower rate so the net distance covered during flight may be significant to think about. I just have this thought so I have not tested it myself yet.
I did think of this as well. I’ll have to look into it. Thankfully, I think the minimap will be helpful for determining both the glide speed and the rate of descent.

I could be wrong, but I remember seeing another video that the fan shield is just cosmetic, and doesn't actually give you more speed when gliding. I’m generally not fond of throwing my weapons, but I’m sure that’s effective!
@@LionsShareYT collector's anxiety 👀
@@akira_kom maybe a smidge
@@LionsShareYT hahaha
@@LionsShareYT You should defininitly try that out! With the Recall every weapon becomes a Boomerang. Speaking of: Boomerangs have some of the coolest interactions, when you fuse them with Wings, Lizalfostails or Zonaidevices.
the wing shield is actually really good to know. wings are frankly kind of useless beyond the early game, so having something useful to do with them is great information, and can save on rocket use against enemies where you need bullet time but not really height. Like Lynels and Gleeoks :p
Definitely what I had in mind. :)
I tried to shield surf with a wing fusion on it hoping I could sky-surf but it didn't work. I thought that was useless until this video showed it gives you a little higher bounce.
@@burger_kinghorn and a bit of a slow fall to make going into bullet time easier, too. It's nice. :3
wings have one nice use, If you are in the sky, say, from a skyview tower launch, you can pull one out and itll spawn just below you. With a bit of practice, you cqn land on it and start gliding from anywhere. Its partucularly helpful to deal with stamina issues.
finally ma totk video that doesnt cover basic thing's that everyone already knows
That was the goal! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very interesting list. The Gibdo bone arrows are the only thing I did before watching this vid. I use them to effectively deal with stone taluses that has their weak point at their backs which is quite hard or annoying to attack with a melee weapon.
That’s definitely a good use for the Gibdo bones.
For those I just use recall on the rocks it throws st me, after it's stunned spears work pretty well to get big damage on the weak spot. Fusing longer things to the end of the spear can help, but it's normal range should work fine
Standing on their top you can hit the weak spot on their back with a spear, don't even need to stun first.
It’s definitely a game changer.
The zonai spring box fused with a shield has a similar effect to the wing shield but the spring bounces you up much higher when you shield surf. Its really great for activating bullet time or if you need to make a quick escape
For sure, but it’s just one use, unfortunately.
Fusing a dazzlefruit to a weapon one-shots skeleton enemies, which is very handy at night. If you fuse it to a Korok weapon, it won't immediately waste your dazzlefruit either.
I saw that a couple days ago. I probably would have included it in this video if I’d known about it at the time!
You don't need to fuse the dazzlefruit. You can just chuck it on the ground and it'll kill every skeleton in range.
Super helpful tips! Now to remember them all at the appropriate time!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Definitely the hardest part, lol.
It's all academic
Just when you thought this game was amazing. This makes you realise there is another level of amazing on top
For real. I feel like people will still be discovering new things about this game a decade from now.
also, the hover stone on the arrow, when shot upwards, activates the stone at the exact maximum distance of ascend
Interesting!
This channel should get so much more attention than it has. Such a good video
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
wonderful stuff, i feel like the hover stone arrow and the fan powered glider are particularly useful
Glad I could help! The fan shield unfortunately doesn’t work, though. I made a pinned comment about it. It just gives the appearance of working. :/
hover stone arrow is imo the most useful one. octo balloon shield is also extremely useful in shrines
Hover stone arrows blew my mind
Whoa, this is super great to learn! Thanks for all these tips! There were times i had no more rock hammers, the rock shield is great in a pitch. Also i was so confused what everyone was talking about the wings fusing to shields to do bulletime and this makes so much more sense.
Also another combination that's pretty cool is boomerang + lizalfos tails and boomerang + wings for long throws or massive range
Also love the SS soundtrack in the video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! And I love SS. :)
A korok frond and any week melee weapon, it seems like a crappy usles fuse, however, this combo, send monster Flying sky high and fall really fast to the ground, so they can die of fall damage, also it is a los of fun to watch this.
Yeah, I like that one too. :)
An actually helpful tears of the kingdom video?? Insane
Glad you liked it!
I didn’t know about the beehive! That’s an awesome one!
I knew about sapphire/ruby/topaz for ice/fire/lightning but I had never tried opal to make water. I also didn't know about the beehive summoning bees. I'm going to have to try that one.
@@stevenseufert2520 Nintendo of Japan showed it in their yt channel in one of the totk ad on the release day
@@sharmilakrishnakumar2499 I saw each trailer as they came out so I'm sure I saw what you're talking about but I didn't remember it. I specifically wasn't analyzing or rewatching the trailers as much as I usually might before playing TotK so that I could sort of watch the trailers but still be surprised during the game.
@@stevenseufert2520 yeah but it not that much useful in game other than in the water temple lol 😂
i always fuse icy meat to my shield before shield surfing. it’s super fast and doesn’t melt!
Yeah, I learned about that one after the video.
My go to is hylian shield with a zonai cart attached, not sure whether it or ice meat are better or different at all
This is the most helpful TOTK video I've seen. Keep it up!
I’m glad it was helpful!
When you go hunting for them, hit them with any ice effect to kill them in one shot!
I'm not sure, but if you autokill a lizalfos with elemental weaknesses it might be less likely or impossible for it to drop a tail.
Love this video, I haven't thought of any of these or seen them from any of the mainstream youtubers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Make sure to check the pinned comment about the fan shield, though.
I was really sceptical about this feature when I saw the trailer, and it did feel a little weird. But the possibilities it provides are astonishing
It really feels like you can do just about anything you want.
It's one of those massively freeform mechanics that can result in some really amazingly useful combinations in some instances.
but the big caveat of it is that
if you aren't particularly creative or experimental, and just use enemy horns to do big damage, it can feel kind of frustrating for not using the system to it's full potential.
@@Verchiel_ yeah, my wife gets frustrated with the mechanic for this very reason.
Whats incredible is after 200 hours I can STILL discover cool new things that help me play the game, wow!
Glad I could help!
I never would've guessed the Hover Stone arrow! That's so exciting
It’s super helpful!
@@LionsShareYT I struggle reaching a lot of sky islands that are too high or too far from any towers. I'll try creating stepping stones this way.

Glad you enjoyed the video. Make sure to check the pinned comment about the fan shield, though.
One I saw in a couple of vids is fusing a lightbloom seed to your shield, effectively turning it into a lantern.
That’s a good one too
@@LionsShareYT whereas fusing a zonai light will wear down and break the shield.
Thanks mate! This video was awesom!!!! So many good information and straight to the point.

I’m fairly certain fans don’t actually increase flight speed on a shield
Yeah. I was wrong. I’m about to pin a comment about it.
I don't have the time to spend to find stuff like this so I'm very very grateful to find your video! Thank you! I haven't really done much fusing of the shield so can't wait to try during my next go.
Glad I could help! Make sure to check the pinned comment about the fan shield, though.
@@LionsShareYT thank you!
If you find miasma weapons, fuse them to a normal weapon made you get a crazy strong weapon with 50ish damage without the downside of losing hearts.
I do that all the time. Way better than fusing it the other way around.
I like losing hearts, it make me feel like ashitaka from princess mononoke
Demon King's Spear fused to the Master Sword made my whole final battle lol
This is such a great video. Straight to the point with helpful information. It's very much a non TH-camr approach to sharing information. No fake persona or needlessly fast paced editing for 12 year olds all hopped up on Mountain Dew.
Those hover stone arrows and fan shields are brilliant.
I really appreciated this. Feels much more adult than most of the stuff I see on here. Definitely going to checkout some more of your videos.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Make sure to check the pinned comment about the fan shield, though.
My biggest disappointment was when I realized the bokoblin arm bones attached to shields don't do anything
🤣
I mean, you can probably use them for an offensive shield, but they’ll break pretty quickly.
My biggest disappointment is fusing a spring device to an arrow does nothing 😢
My biggest disappointment was realizing that flux constructs don't work well with shields lol
My biggest disappointment was when I tried to make a makeshift guardian sword using an ancient arrowhead... but it only works for one hit 😔
I honestly never would have thought about the tail whip! That’s so cool and will be so useful!
Glad I could help!
I don't think fan shield works. They don't propel you can further.
Watched a million of this videos but learned a lot of new stuff from yours, cheers!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful for you!
DO ULTRAHAND NOW!! You also forgot about the ice meat no friction shield
Ultrahand is next! :) I just learned about the frictionless ice meat shield last night though. It was too late to put it into the video.

I've been playing this amazing game nonstop for like a month and didn't know any of that so good look 👍
There’s so much you can miss.
I could be wrong, but I remember seeing another video that the fan shield is just cosmetic, and doesn't actually give you more speed when gliding. Pretty sure they even had a side by side video comparison showing the speed and distance you get using it vs a normal shield. Could be another good video idea to test and confirm, since I've heard conflicting information, and a solid test would be valuable for the community.
It was a great video otherwise though, the Gibdo Bone idea is really smart actually!
I did a more rigorous test after several people said the same thing. It doesn’t work, unfortunately. I pinned a comment about it. But I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
You can do the same thing with a rocket though, and it does work!
