Dag Peter, even with 80k subs I couldn’t make a living from TH-cam posting authentic content. The simple fact is, if you are not engaging with ‘the machine’ of clickbait and drama and selling stuff and sticking to the formula, you are unlikely to make TH-cam your living. My book recommendation is ‘Break the Internet’ by Olivia Yallop. Have a read and it will hopefully help clarify a few things. For me, I have found that getting a regular job I enjoy and doing TH-cam as a hobby is the only way I can make authentic and genuine content. It’s hard when you are sculpting a life managing pain or a health condition (Migraine and high blood pressure here) as there is so much meal prep involved, but it’s working for me. Good luck.
9:20 oh, that was mean. 😮 Peter: What I really miss is chocolate. Video interrupts with ad for… Twix chocolate bars 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Anyway, good to have you back. ❤
The most direct way to show support is to subscribe your channel! Your previous video about quitting as a lawyer and how you dealt with it gave me support as i am also undergoing such transition now. Welcome back Peter
Dear Sir, the value of Dutch philosophy cannot be easily measured. I had a Dutch yoga teacher for 9 years and it's only watching your vids. that I realise why I think as I do and how much of her incredible snippets of healthy habits I've acquired. I live in Australia though I'm British. It is overtly competitive here and I am not comfortable with it. Fore me, a difficult place to be at times but my kids are here so it's thanks to my ability to get 'the needle' back to the centre, that I can survive happily. I'm 74. Thank you for posts. I'm a keen listener and love your book recommendations.
Your videos helped me so much in a period in which I was struggling with the decision to quit my job. I found so reassuring to watch your videos. Thanks for that.
I’m glad you are back, and sorry you have been suffering. Your actions to heal yourself are very inspiring. I hope you and your GF are ridiculously happy. 🌻🙏🌸
So glad to have you back... and glad to hear you're going to do what you want at the pace you want. I think you have interesting viewpoints on life, so I'm happy to watch whatever content you create. I like watching authentic people talk about their real-life experiences. I am too old for fake people and have stopped watching so many channels because of it. Welcome back, Peter!
Welcome back! you were missed. You were one of the 'older' slow living/ minimalist youtubers i enjoyed watching. When you started almost everyone is in their 20s/30s and I enjoy their content but i didnt relate. Check out atomic shrimp, he grew his channel to 1m subscriber with doing just random things that he enjoys. He is a retiree in the UK. He doesnt say he is a minimalist or slow living but I think he is living a slow living lifestyle. He did cooking collaborations with a guy from Nigeria (so interesting and fun) one of my favourite videos. What I learned is that the more you do things that you enjoy regardless of a niche or not, the algorithm favours people who are consistent. People will follow you because they find you interesting. There are youtubers who defied the algorithm and grows. I would love to see your journey of self discovery and also how your relationship is with your girlfriend now that you are living together. I completely understand wanting it private but as someone who would like to date again and worry about how to bring in someone into my life who isnt minimalist worries me haha i have a clutter-free simple life and most people are not.
Welcome back! I look forward to your new content as slow and simple living are also interests to me as an introvert. **I also have chronic radiculopathy which has impacted the same things for me except I get leg pain not abdominal. Chronic pain is a real thing! Thank you so much for sharing these resources.
Welcome back Peter! I enjoy your videos about slow living and minimalism, and specifically how you apply it in the real world, with the constraints of time, money, health, relationships, work, in other words life. Your being genuine and sincere, whatever you produce, matters.
So glad you are back! And good to know that you prioritize yourself first. In the end, we are just people who enjoy your videos but we don´t pay your bills, we don´t go to s doctor´s appointment with you and we are not in your phone number list if you need anything. I´ll be waiting for your next videos then. Welcome back!
Glad to see you're back, sorry you've gone through a hard time. There's plenty of Slow Living/Minimalist TH-camrs, but what people like about this channel is also your personality - so looking forward to seeing different topics as well.
By the way: since quite some years i skip a lot of the foods you mentioned: no dairy, no alcohol, no very fatty foods and almost no coffee and chocolate. I suffered from IBS and I must say I feel much better!
He's back! Ahh so good to see you again. You even make the difficult things in your life sound interesting!! Sorry to hear about the health issues but happy you made it back and thank you for sharing.
I have been enjoying watching you older videos, but was so happy to see that you have posted a new one. I love the tutorial style in your videos. I think you are an excellent teacher.
Hi Peter, sorry to hear about your health and accomodation struggles. But happy that you have found a house with your girlfriend! Good to see you back!
Thanks for coming back and sharing your story, where you want to go and your new creation newsletter. I signed up. Good luck and we will be waiting and watching. Best M.
Peter, it was a blessing to see your new video pop up today! Your gentleness and warm approach in your videos is enjoyable by your legion of fans and subscribers. You are one of the few minimalist Channels I follow because you are real, and don’t push products or services on your subscribers. Praying for your health and want to say thank you for your Inspiring content.
So good to have you back Peter. Walking certainly improves health, diet alterations take some working out in my experience so hang in there. I look forward to your weekly videos.
Good to see you back. Perhaps more people would “Buy me a coffee” if you mentioned it in your vlog. Maybe something like.. If you find value in my content then consider buying me a coffee-link in the show notes. Good luck and I’m looking forward to seeing future vids.
Great to have you back Peter! I hope that things are settling, and will settle well with a bit of time. Looking forward to watching your new videos. I do like the idea of thinking through what slow living means for regular folks, also us living in cities... I agree that a lot of creators seem more aspirational than practical. Best of luck!
I'm glad you're back! Thank you for sharing your story, even though you've been going through some tough learning experiences. I appreciate your honesty, and I really enjoy how you convey your ideas and experiences. Whatever directions you go in terms of content, keep being authentic, and you'll find what both helps make you money, and also satisfies your soul.
Looking forward to your upcoming videos, Peter. Welcome back! I recommend you the teachings and meditations of Dr. Joe Dispenza. I think that could help with your health issues and even more. See you next week 😉
I just found your channel. New subscriber! I find your content very interesting. I also like the fact that you keep your private life safe. It's great that you prioritized your health and that you share your experience.
Welcome back to YT Peter and congratulations to you and your girlfriend for moving in with each other. So glad that I've stayed subscribed to your channel. Truly a pleasant surprise to see this new video although I'm very sorry to hear that these past months have been so trying. I greatly appreciate your authenticity and wicked cool channel content. Also have a listen to Better Things by The Kinks if you're so inclined. That wonderful song came to mind while watching this excellent video :)
Welcome back Peter! You are one of the most genuine minimalist TH-cam personnel that I have watched and have missed your presence. Glad to hear you are better. I am also dealing with some health issues myself. But it's when you go through them do you realize what's most important in life!
Nice to see you back and hopefully see new videos from you but remember health is the number one. BTW do you know youtuber posy? Some reason you remind me about him :-D
It's good to see you again and am looking forward to whatever you post. It sounds like this is a time of exploration for you. For myself, I prefer the more artistic videos with a smidge of practical tips thrown in! I wish you all the best and am ready to come along for the ride.
So good to see you again, welcome back Peter. Thanks for being so open about your struggles. Your openness about your struggles is something I and many others appreciate and relate to. What a blow to have had to give up caffeine and the good things that come with it. I did it once and never felt better but it is very addictive and it currently has me in it's grip again. Looking forward to watching your future videos and to reading your newsletter. 😀
Good to see you back. Actually today your channel came to mind and there you are. Whatever happens it will be interesting to follow along. Consistency is key, true that - I’m sure your channel will grow, the stuff you put out always stands out for keeping it real 👍
Welcome back Peter. Glad to have you back posting again. Have you moved from Bulgaria? The street scene looks like Utrecht. Best wishes and I look forward to seeing your new videos.
Subscribed. Good Luck! As for your "dislike" of lifestyle of other people's furnished apts -- sounds like hell on earth😅 Better an EMPTY short term apt (cheaper) and an IKEA delivery. As for the noise, read those comments by others very closely ... unless they say it is QUIET, know that it is NOT😉
Maldita sea, jefe, le aprecio demasiado como para no decírselo… usted lo tiene todo excepto una cosa: locura, y un hombre necesita un poco de locura o si no… si no nunca se atreverá a cortar la cuerda y ser libre…”....Zorba the greek....you are inspiring me to create a youtube channel at my 61
Where you pointed as feeling in pain looks like your gallbladder. Galbladder pain is often confused as back pain, which is what I thought in my case as well.
Glad you’re back and talking about real things that we all deal with.
