    I see a lot of people hating on it but I love it.

      I think a lot of it has to do with the added weight of this new AMG GT some sources are saying this new one could weigh 4300 lbs whereas the previous model weighed 3700-3800 lbs.
      I personally think the AWD, longer wheel base, and weight can make this a better street car with more of a predictable driving nature than before. I’m a fan but would like to test it to be sure and check ride quality

    Standing out against that ugly predecessor, and that's it...Oh, Yes Maybe also commendable for being not as stubby as its cousin--- that's Porsche Carrera

    Not crazy about the awd. Adds weight, complexity, etc. I feel the same about the 911, Mcars etc. nice review!

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The complexity of these new cars is beyond hope which is why I only want these cars if they offer good lease deals. You would be surprised my friend, sometimes it's the weight of a car that gives it a sense of quality on the street along with stability which these cars really needed. Hopefully interior is better but I doubt it.

  • @SibRevs
    @SibRevs ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I completely agree with you about the interior. It's absolutely not going to age well. It ruins the overall design elegance of this car and honestly makes it look a bit cheap.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea my friend def has a cheapness to the interior space wish they would really upgrade their quality because these are over 6 figures

    Is Mercedes offering decent incentives for leasing the amg gt53 or 63?

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are referring to the current 2023 AMG GT Sedan then no, there are no good incentives, just a $1,000 loyalty credit, rest you will have to negotiate a dealer discount which I'm assuming most dealers won't budge much on those.
      No details on this 2024 coupe yet as the Coupes were discontinued back in 2022 and those can't be leased

  • @paullee9982
    @paullee9982 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Agreed regarding the creaky crashing squeaky etc interior. I had a 2020 GLE and it was horrible. Also test drove a GLS450 and same thing.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea my friend it's a shame because I do really like the way Mercedes products drive/feel however, the interior and tech can be a let down sadly.

  • @sergiopereira9546
    @sergiopereira9546 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    if you want an AMG GT to be a sports car just get the older model this 650lbs of added weight plus the fact that the car is even bigger just hurt it on the sportiness and dont worry about having less power , downpipes and a tune go a long way in this engines

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nothing wrong with adding weight on a street car honestly improves it in stability and ride quality/predictability in driving should be improved with longer wheel base. Same things I mentioned with the LC 500 solely looking at specs ruins cars that’s why I add the commentary and experiences into the vids for edification purposes

    • @sergiopereira9546
      @sergiopereira9546 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MeynMotorGroup yes but if you actually want good dynamics and good driving feel there's no tech that can beat lightness and unlike the LC this car is a sports car first

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sergiopereira9546 last car was a bit sketch to drive idk wasn’t a big fan it’s like the old Shelby Cobras of the 60s put a big block v8 in a little British sports car chassis it almost becomes undriveable or you gotta level up your driving skills to a high caliber to enjoy cars like that these are just street turds at the end of the day I would like to use them properly on a street 😅

    • @sergiopereira9546
      @sergiopereira9546 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeynMotorGroup well you definitely have more experience than me but more weight doesn't really mean better ride quality and obviously if you floor it in a low gear on a TT v8 wheel spin is going to happen. I hope you can get your hands on emira one day and experience what seems to be the peak of lightness and decent ride quality on a sports car

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@sergiopereira9546 No you are absolutely correct more weight hurts ride quality I didn't put a comma in the sentence. I meant the longer wheel base helps in ride and predictability. Emira is looking pretty sweet yes def worth looking into but dealer support is pretty awful for those 😅

  • @timw2083
    @timw2083 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like this... but completely happy with what I have. At this point I'd go from a coupe to the wagon
    Do you know if both are V8 turbos

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This coupe is available with the 4.0l TT V8 for both the GT 55 trim and GT 63 trim yes.
      The sedan hatch version I’m not sure what their real plan is, on the Merc website the sedan GT is available as a GT 43 and GT 53 with the in-line 6.
      But when I look on CarGurus there are a handful of new 2023 GT 63 sedans with the TT V8 for sale so not sure what’s going on there

  • @salimrandall
    @salimrandall ปีที่แล้ว

    That active hydraulic suspension leads to big trouble. On an Infiniti it’s $10,000 to fix I imagine double for this car. Also history has shown putting turbos between the V leads to trouble. This car looks expensive to maintain and it isn’t even out yet.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea it’s like the TVD on an RCF that cost $25k. But for some reason despite all this, people still don’t understand why I would rather lease and dump these cars 😅 people want to hang on to this stuff like an heirloom and form some emotional attachment to these cars. I really think it’s best for people to get the experience and get out and move on to the next performance car instead of dealing with the headaches after the warranty period ends.

      @@MeynMotorGroup it's interesting you say that in respect that I looked at common problems with GT cars from the 8 series, S class coupe, A7 Bentley GT, Aston Martin and that LC you driving. After a certain amount of milage/kilometers on the road usually around hundred thousand miles or 170 thousand kilometers all these other brands suffer from water pump issues, oil leaks, water leaks. Turbo seals, high oil consumption issues... But the Lexus even at well after150 thousand miles or 220 thousand kilometers it common problem is just oil consumption. That common problem dates all the way to it's original engine which was found in the ISF back in 2008. That Lex you driving is actually pretty solid.

      @@nqobilemahlaba2230 many forget that a modern car is a computer on wheels it goes way beyond an engine & transmission like the 70s. There are too many electronics, sensors, and actuators on new cars causing them to be disposable
