We Thought This Drive Would Be EASY! - WRONG!

  • Tuesdays Shenanigans... today we finished off a roof that was started last week, we managed to do the front and both sides of the garage so all we had to do was the back roof & the drive, sounds easy? Unfortunately the driveway has so much excess sand in it that it made the final cleanup take hours! Oh well, onto the next job!

Good job on mentoring Sid! I'm the kind of person you can't just tell "do it this way, it's how we do it" I gotta know why too! "We do it this way to prevent xyz" if I know why I'm doing something I'm more likely to do it right because I know the reasoning behind it, or if it's not going as intended I know to ask for help 🙂

Well, in training someone else, it also helps us understand all you do, so thank you for tackling the extra work and communication. Appreciate also being called, "TH-cam Family". This roof reminds me of the time and Engineer helped make you a custom scraper for a roof. There can be such variety in styles and the end result shifts. This one needed cleaning, did have material on it but the color change was not as blatant as some places. That was an enjoyable color-shift on the driveway pavers. An interesting problem to deal with, in that you ended up doing the whole street, which certainly looked nicer, but added a lot of cleanup time. Cameron seemed to be doing well and Kevin was doing all the backup work that keeps things flowing.

Watching the mentoring of someone learning the job really shows how much there is to know and how difficult a job it really is. It was sometimes un-nerving to watch the expert but watching a novice really points out how hard it is to do well and safely.

This job is basically 5% learning what to do & how to do it safely then 95% just little intricacies to look out for, certain types of drains, certain types of stones, placement of scaffolding or even parking your van in the right spot, most confusing job Ive ever had at times but the next day it can be the easiest, keeps me on my toes for sure (:

Great job! A lot of your time is spent setting up & taking down scaffolding as well so it's difficult to do more than one or two jobs a day when they're an hour apart. Just do what you can in a day & the other customers will have to give you grace!

I've been hooked onto your videos for a short while now and for some reason you bring up my inner peace with those satisfying clean jobs you do.
You've also flared up a side of me that wants to pressure wash stuff myself now.
Done some stuff at the homebase to help out my poorly parents that can't do everything anymore as quickly as they used to and this is a full on therapy for me =D
I also have to say that watching you grow like this in comparison to the videos of 1-2 years ago is astonishing and respectable.
The day I move to the UK I might call you in for some work when it gets to the point.
Keep up the good work Sid and make my working days more relaxing as you have been doing for the past few months.
    Much love from Belgium

Have you ever had any times you’ve pressure washed and treated with hypo near to artificial grass ? I have a job coming up that I’m a bit nervous about as they have artificial grass right next to the drive. Wondered if it would bleach it the same way it does grass if not watered down properly initially? Cheers!
