    Hey Guys! Today's video is on my cash envelope system. I'm sharing my step by step process for re-building my month ahead account (which was depleted by home repairs) and how I'm using my cash envelope system to do it. Do you use the cash envelope system? Here is the link to my cash envelope system on Etsy: etsy.me/3GxkuvV

    I use cash envelopes and it works really well for me. I am less than 6 months away from being totally debt free! 👍

    Good video. I do a cash envelope system for my monthly spending. I transfer money every month into my saving account too and have a spreadsheet with different categories that shows how much I need for each category for the year and how much I need to add to it every month so I have the needed money in savings by the end of the year. I slowly, over the last few years, transferred money to savings so that I have $13,000 assigned to medical emergency (our catastrophic yearly copay). We needed that a few years for my husband's cancer. I'm working now on building an emergency fund to cover 6 months of expenses, plus sinking funds for things I want to buy. I'm retired now, on a fixed income and can't believe how much I can save! Having things written down and using cash helps the mindset.

    I really like your cash envelope system but may I ask where you put your coins? do you put them in the clear envelope until you get home, do you have a separate coin pouch, or do you just throw them in your handbag? lol...

      I have a container where I store them all year and then I cash them out. 🥰

    Hi from Australia! Your videos are helping me rebuild my life... Thank you! Quick question: would you divide by 5 if it was a 5 week month? Or should I multiply the amount by 12 and divide by 52?

      What I do is this. I treat every mount as a 5 week one. The month that have 4 weeks are my magical month. I can safe more in this month

    I have saved so much with cash envelopes! I have your wallet in black and it goes with me everywhere. I might need a brown one when I am ready to save a month ahead.

    My mortgage, insurance and credit card are automated payments. I get paid monthly so how can I apply this system to my cash envelopes?

    How do you continue to add for the ongoing months once you reach the initial month ahead? Thanks

      I deposit for the current month and I continue to stuff (every paycheck) in my bill envelope for the next month.

    For your credit card, do you set aside just the minimum or a set amount?

    • @TheOrganizedMoney
      @TheOrganizedMoney  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually do this when I’m supposed to pay something in cash but for some reason I am unable to (or I didn’t have my cash on me). I will take the cash and put it in my credit card envelope so I’m able to pay off the entire balance

    Thank you for sharing this video with us all.
    #Q some places have folks times a bill by 12, and then divide it by 52 to get a weekly amount for the savings/budget, is there any benefit to doing it one way or the other?

    • @TheOrganizedMoney
      @TheOrganizedMoney  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it depends on how you want to save it. By dividing it by 4, I am saving a little more than what I would need for the bill. But if you feel like it might be too much, then you can definitely times by 12 and divide by 52. That will give you the exact amount
