Brian, this is another incredible video! Ok, so I recently realised I had become addicted to the internet. I had Netflix on in the background at all times, social media non-stop and constantly communicating with friends. It made me feel so empty. So , 3 weeks ago, I banned myself from Netflix, turned off wifi on my phone from 8am to 6pm, every working day and limited my time to watching TV only during meal time, if that. Oh my goodness was it tough! It was harder to get over the fact how addicted I was. So I ended up having several hours free in the day. I am now, 6 days ahead of my work schedule and use my internet time to watch your videos. I remembered I had a membership with Philosopher Notes... downloaded pretty much 20 audio files yesterday along with their notes, all on to my phone... and when I need a break, I literally pull out a note/audio and read/listen to them offline. I listened to 2 during driving around yesterday. I feel like my brain is on drugs!!! Thank you so much for doing what you do! Your ikigai is on point! From this video, 'Do circle', 'Sat a.m' and 'Advice' REALLY hit home. Will be implementing them from this moment. Listening to each of your videos twice also really gets each point into my head. I've scheduled to listen/read the note on 'The Shallows' in my break today! Super excited. Thank you so much Brian! I truly appreciate your work.
+gagzy1989 WOW. That's all I can say. Amazing. Honored to be a part of your life and really appreciate you taking the time to share such a great note!!!
Having a reason for waking up is really important for sure. I'm curious - do you think purpose is singular/fixed? My belief is that it evolves as we do, and like in Siddartha by Herman Hesse, we change identities and evolve/go through cycles as our lives go on. And throughout this we have to keep re-creating and re-defining our purpose.
The number one piece of wisdom I got out of this beautiful podcast this morning was feelings follow behavior! The due circle! Yes yes yes! Thank you!
