- Hey Squad - happy Wednesday, I hope you all are doing well!
Today we take another look at the PSA pop report and what is going on within the grading market. There are some really low pop's on things like the Cinderella, but Elsa continues to dominate the show from a quantity perspective.
Please let me know your thoughts on the current pop report and your long-term outlook/strategy.
This video is just my opinion, you have to make the decision that is right for you and your financial situation!

What is the typical PSA 10 multiplier in the Sports and Pokemon World? Is it 2x? Or does it depend on pop 10 percentages and individual card? Have you seen any variance in the multipliers with the Lorcana PSA 10’s from all the sets so far?
It varies by card but within Lorcana it typically is a 2x the value of a 9.
I think we will see this gap widen as the market grows.
Some cards on the sports and pokemon side of things see some huge multipliers on the more valuable cards because they can be so old it’s very hard to get 10’s. In rare cases you will see a 5-10x in those cases.
The Cinderella is one that is selling for around $700 in a 10, but $315 in a 9 however it only gets a 10 30% of the time and only has 400 in existence.
This would make sense to have a 3-4x premium in my opinion.
The market disagrees for now though!
First, I'm already investing in Floodborn; however, something I've learned from Pokemon is that while Pops do matter, Pops are not King. Demand is King. And while the most recent restock definitely did some damage on ch 1, I feel that chapter 1 enchanteds will always carry a bigger premium simply because of that. The demand for Ch 1 will always outstrip FB imo. There might be a few cards that are the exception, Cinderella as you mentioned, but overall that's my gut feeling for it.
As far as the promos or low pop cards, Long-term I agree on rarity. However, I also feel that some of these are just going to get lost in the shuffle. This has happened to the first chapter foil erratas which have lost their value simply because everyone forgot about them. There will be a lot of play promos. So, which ones will people simply stop caring about and which ones will become grails? It won't be all about the pops. Most likely character, art, etc...
Chapter One will outpace Chapter two as a whole, but some of the characters like Cinderella, Snow White, and Alice have shown staying power over a lot of the Chapter One Enchanteds and there will be much less of them in circulation.
You and lorcana goons are my go-to lorcana guys thanks Mike!
I wouldn’t put myself on par with the Goon’s but I appreciate the compliment Jacob!
I can tell youre a SMpratte fan like me lol thanks for your market watch videos, good content
Hahaha absolutely, love him! Thank you Churmander!.
The 2023 print First Chapter boxes may also carry a premium over time. I have one.
Very interested to see how those play out, I personally would only pay a very small premium as the contents inside are the same apart from the errata errors. Im a sucker for errors though.
I've got a case from December 1. Hope so! Also have several boxes from 2024.
@@Brandonhart100 I saw some boxes selling for more than 2024 on eBay so collectors are definitely mindful
Great presentation! I just mailed my first submission to PSA yesterday. My question is do you clean or wipe down the cards before submission? If so what do you use? Does PSA wipe them down or clean them durning the grading process? Does external elements like dust/debris/fingerprints effect the overall score of a card? Thanks
Thank you Shelby and congrats on the submission!
I do like to wipe them down with a microfiber towel and a very quick drying electronic screen wipe (always test this on a common/uncommon first before any high value cards), just to remove those things you mentioned.
PSA is not going to clean the card what-so-ever, they will take it out of the semi-ridged to grade, then encase it.
A fingerprint, dust, debris, etc usually wont impact the grade and I have found typically isn't visible after encased.
Edges, corners, surface, and centering are what they are looking for.
If by some chance there was a piece of white fuzz stuck to one of the corners and it didn't come off during grading, then it might ding you, but that's incredibly rare.
If you don't mind me asking, what cards did you submit?
@@CardboardKingdom Thanks for the feedback I will look into the microfiber towel and screen wipe. I’m excited about the submission and future submissions and as of right now my package is in Newport Beach CA so getting close to delivering to PSA. I submitted 2x Mickey Mouse Artful Rogue Enchateds and 1 Gramma Tala Enchanted. PSA had a promo for $50 off so I took advantage of that. I wanted to see how this whole process went before submitting my Cinderella and Belle. PS One of the best things I’ve done is buy a thermal label printer, that thing is awesome!
@@shelbyakers1895 that’s an awesome submission, congrats Shelby!
I ordered a First Chapter Booster Box from Peach Cravings on the Mayhem promo day...did I F up?
Not necessarily, was it one of the damaged boxes, or from their other listing that didn’t have pictures?
@@CardboardKingdom The listing without pictures, I stayed away from the damaged boxes I think.
@@ajanco23 you should be good to go then! That listing got a price change to $250 as they were selling out.
When you get the box make sure the pull tab and tape is intact!
Great insights as always. Do you think its wise to hold on to cases of Ursala returns and buy singles in the long run? The enchanted in this set IMO look amazing as well.
I love this set long term - in terms of which to pick that is personal preference and your personal level of risk tolerence.
Sealed product is always deflationary therefore should be a steady increase in price over time.
Singles have greater risk to go up and down, but could see bigger swings in the short-term.
I always recommend to collect what you enjoy and have the patience to hold and you can’t lose!
@CardboardKingdom Completely agree with your take on this! Thanks! But I can't help to admire the artwork on Ariel and Anna in a battlesuit or Jasmine as a night thieve. These are artworks that I feel will go a long way as they are so unique. My 4yo daughter is over the moon when she saw it.
Please keep up the content! Love it!
@@ahkaizz Thank you very much, my 5yo
daughter loved them too! I will say Jasmine isn't my favorite art work, but I love the character so I will for sure grab that one at some point.
I want Minnie, Ariel, Anna, Ursuala, Yen Sid, Cinderella, and jasmine... going to be a while haha
When are we going to stop putting a premium on grading. It's far to subjective.
Unfortunately, I don’t see this happening anytime soon. Until people stop paying a premium for 10’s it’s not going to change and this has gone on for a long time on the sports side of the house.
Kind of a “if you can’t beat em, join em” type of mindset for me.
@@CardboardKingdom after the Logan Paul thing, it really shows the grades aren't what you think they are.
@@KennyDpdx agreed, but unfortunately the market is not on our side. They have shown they don’t care and will pay the premium for a PSA employee to glance at the card and say “this card is a 10!”
I like the art on the floodborn edition alt arts. I’d rather have the floodborn just for those reasons alone. I’d never sell it if I were able to own it. so I’m not one to ask about resell.
I like a lot of the art in Floodborn, but Chapter One is still my favorite.
That is the great thing about this hobby though, collect what you like and you will do just fine.
@@CardboardKingdom sorry I was referring to your one question about the Cinderella. I realize that wasn’t implied in my message. sorry for the ambiguity.
@@samuelbourdeau1545 ohhh that makes sense, I apologize!
im definetly keeping my cinderella psa10...i always preferred the artwork to elsa ..
She’s a rare one!

i did purchase the psa10 robin hood d23,,with the money i made from my psa10 elsa..do yuo think it was a good call?
@@missjennauk I honestly have no clue, once again I absolutely don’t hate the play.
Robin Hood 1st edition psa 10, let’s say max the pop on that is ever maybe 400?
Elsa psa 10 pop will probably end up around 2500?
Does the demand for the most popular card in Lorcana out weight the truly scarce nature of the Robin Hood? I don’t know the answer to that question!
