@ thank you for your reply at first, and unfortunately to hear but i’m wondering as well if they would in general reprint the first chapter globally. But we will see!
thanks so much for these videos. i would never know about these deals unless you tell me! i love these types of products as well, and i'm so happy Ravensburger makes these. i would love to grab one, but going to stores on Black Friday stores might be tough this year. fingers crossed!
I agree, a couple of low level chase cards (1 per 30 or 1 per 45) would be good. I wish the foils were a bit more random and had a small increase in power. It feels as though they are just aesthetic which is nice, but doesn't add for game play.
So, someone on the Reddit thread is saying that it’s actually ringing up for closer to $58. Still a great deal compared to where we are at with the prices, but just wanted to point that out from another source. We will see if it’s true on Sunday
I wonder how we find out which Targets are gonna carry this . I read on Fb that this was fake but I’d love to prove them wrong . I need some TFC cards in my life . I have all the other sets .
What is your thoughts on D23 2022 Prices. Would you buy into them right now? I see a lot of transactions happening. Wonder if I should bite it and grab the Elsa.
I purchased one about 45 days ago, so my actions would say yes, but obviously that's a significant investment, so you need to make that call! I think the only 1st edition cards in Lorcana are going to commands a VERY significant premium if Lorcana continues down the path its on.
To me the fact that we're in a low and the FC is still climbing tells me everything i need to know.. Next year when the hype around Worlds go off the chart Im expecting a huge surge in price setting a new floor for that set.
A little confused, so it runs from the 24-30th but stores will have them out on the 21st and 22nd? Are they just not available for purchase but get set out earlier then their run dates?
I am confused here as well, the dates don't make match up. I will prob just stop in a few times and see if I can find one, if I am being honest I probably won't get my hands on one for retail.
I'm so excited for this product! I was gonna go to the woods, but sounds like I will be hunting for some of these boxes lol I also would agree with the alt art conversation as well. It would be great if they took location/items and made those more alt arts and then have the enchanteds as characters only. Maybe keep the hit rate the same but make it to where you could potentially get both from 1 box or case. Opening a case and getting a $30 enchanted location is miserable. At that point, you have lost money on a case. Making it an alt art and still having both options available could help to increase price for both collectors and sellers
I think first chapter should still have at least one more large reprint, the game is still only its first year and people are already hoping for a spike in first chapter pricing. If the game is to truly grow long term, I think investors have to accept the early sets need to be printed into the ground to ensure the game is affordable and accessibly to a large audience. Ultimately the non holo legendaries and rares should never be over £10, which will allow accessibility for players, whilst the enchanteds and holos can hold the premium and appreciate over time. I have all the staples and cards I need from the first chapter but as someone who has crossed from pokemon, I know many people that consider lorcana to be too expensive and largely inaccessible to new players. Imho, if we truly want the game to go grow long term the narrative that reprints of the early sets aren’t wanted needs to change.
I think its fair to say that Lorcana is expensive to play when compared to Pokémon, but I also don't think an entire large reprint is not needed at this time. Many of the core first chapter cards are cheaper than ever and only four cards from the entire set are over $10 (all legendary's), one being over $20. This is an acceptable barrier to entry IMO. The game pieces shouldn't be worthless and four of a $11 card is within reason as a core piece of the deck.
personally I disagree. In my opinion, your point would be true if decks ran just 4 copies of a single expensive card but the reality is most top tier meta decks run 4 copies of multiple expensive cards from a variety of sets. On top of that, decks run lots of middle value cards, things like the 1 drop Lilo and maleficent from first chapter or Daisy Duck from shimmering skies, all of which contribute to the high cost of decks and the overall inaccessibility of the game. The average price of a deck is easily a couple of hundred and many decks cost significantly more. That is not an acceptable barrier for entry. If the game is to truly grow long term, people should be able to play the game competitively for under £100. The sets need a reprint so that cards like Rapunzel, Diablo, sad beast, etc. all become much cheaper and more accessible to a wider audience. This could be done in a number of ways such as special sets with reprints of the base rarities of meta staples, (think legendary collection or base set 2) pre-made decks or deck building products (plenty of examples in Pokémon) or entire set reprints. There are many solutions. But the simplest is to continue to print the first sets beyond demand. First chapter has strong fundamentals and will gradually gain value over time as the supply depletes, but short term (I.e. the next couple of years) you shouldn’t be able to walk into an LGS without falling over boxes of the first chapter.
I think a better idea would be to make structure decks that come competitive and affordable that can actually compete to an extent out of the box as an option for serious players in addition to a new set that include staples. they could even include new enchantment cards or something to chases since most people probably have the ones they want anyways. out of all the enchantments in packs the elsa is the only one that has a little bit of value anyways.
I think that creates an environment that is destined to fail. If new players get their hands on a booster box open it and have 20-30 dollars in cards to show for it just leads to feel bad
@@JoshDLFC Going to release a video specific to this topic today Josh. I think its polarizing and want to get everyone's thoughts. I disagree with your overall opinion, but I appreciate your insight and can definitely see where you are coming from. I didn't want you to feel like today's video was a jab at you by any means, just a great overall topic. Thanks again for your feedback!
I don't disagree that lorcana needs a box hit rarity, especially sense there are zero cards in this game with texture. As a player of the game I only care about the reprints because there are staple cards in set1. If they come out with premium championship decks that have playsets of Rapunzels then I wouldn't care if they never reprint set 1.
I know people who refuse to buy packs cause they either don’t know the actual pull rates or they open hundreds of packs to get a bunch of $2-$5 legendaries.
