Theresa May's former Director of Communications is a non exec director on the BBC Board. He is now the registered owner of the Jewish Chronicle. If an owner of the Guardian sat on the BBC Board, we'd never hear the end of it. Oh and Lord Gibb now chairs a committee to deal with bias.
Just binned the Guardian app. from my device due to a ludicrous new addition. Imagine reading a paper, when a pop- up informs you you reached some arbitrary limit and can access the rest of the article tomorrow, thereby negating the entire bloody point of it being a paper at all. . . Words fail me on that. To be fair, I ONLY read the paper's 2 excellent satirists, Johnny Crace and Marina Hyde. . . The rest was unreadable and unserious.
I swear, I was about to comment about this. Everyone keeps calling it biased towards everything (and both ways!) It's like people don't know what bias means and just assume it's news they don't like.
I’ve been saying this to people from ‘both’ sides for a while now. I do wonder if with the rise of online opinion news (often left and right), and commercial mainstream news (mostly right, but some left), people cannot cope with news being reported objectively. They need to hear that what THEY think is right about a given topic and because the BBC just says ‘here are the facts, make you’re own mind up’, they see bias because they’re not personally vindicated. I mean, the BBC doesn’t get it right often, but the idea that anyone else is remotely objective is laughable.
@@richardedgar9670 I’m not sure we’re watching the same BBC. Very rarely do I witness them saying “here are the facts, make your own mind up”. I see endless untruths, propaganda, and celebrity-delivered-biased-opinions. For more years than I care to mention I watched the BBC news exclusively, but around the early/mid 2010’s it slowly dawned on me that they weren’t reporting “news”, and when cvid started, it simply became a unwatchable government lie mouthpiece - 5 minutes on the government’s own cvid stats website proved that. I haven’t watched the BBC news since cvid, and I’m not alone in that feeling/action…
Laser sharp as always - Matt highlights the incredible alternative reality that the detestable tories live in - and the sheer laughable culture minister whose ambition clearly exceeds her intellect ! Genius Matt !
I was having a conversation with a guy at the pub once (a family friend, but not my friend) and I was explaining how I think the BBC has a right wing bias, and he was explaining how he thinks the BBC has a left wing bias. Funnily enough we had differing political leanings ourselves between the two of us. I came away and concluded that perhaps it's not as biased as I had previously perceived... I'm not sure he came away with his mind changed though, I'm not sure he was open to changing his mind about things... who'd have guessed!

Honestly Matt, you could be a politician and I'd vote for you. It's all so ridiculous you would fit right in. No one would know you were taking the mickey! 👍😉
Ofcom, Ofsted, Ofwat, Ofgem, Ofcom high paid jobs for the 'boys' provided they do what they are required to do. And that's not regulate for you and me.
I was waiting for all these people who leave comments on Talktv and GBnews to get on your case here but I guess they're too busy ranting elsewhere to watch this 😅
I'm unsure whether this posting on TH-cam was biased against somebody I'm not sure who yet. I think I'm getting confused. Probably ought to just go back to the subsidised bar.
The 'too left wing/too right wing' argument is nonsense. People saying something is too right wing are usually pointing out how something is taking a right-wing talking point as fact, but people who are saying a show is too left wing are moaning that they saw a black, trans, gay, and/or woman on screen. A show may erroneously say that currency is a zero-sum game, but have a gay person interviewed, and you'd get complaints from 'both sides' of the 'spectrum' but wouldn't be a sign of impartialness on the part of the BBC.
Why don't the left ask themselves why the right has been voted in for the last 14 years (since 2010). Might wanna start there and by looking at themselves rather than doing what the dems are doing in USA and constantly yelping : "but what about Trump?" Reminds me of Cee Lo Green : "Cry Baby". Damnit it even says "I'm going left and you're going right." @0:20. Yes, yes I know - that's just a brazen hitch-hike onto some random, unassociated lyrics.
😶 we have now reached a stage where reading mps answers to questions verbatim, is indistinguishable from satire
It’s as tho’ Kay Burley is Matt’s script editor 😂
True!
Bloody hilarious, but sadly accurate.
Watched the interview with Kay Burley, a car crash is an understatement.
Absolutely brilliant, genius.

Quite frankly if you made it up people would tell you you were being ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing Matt! nearly as funny as the "minister for culture's" actual interview.
Wow! This guy is even worse than Dorries! ! Bit too close to Tory reality . And very funny . Thank you Matt 😅
Lucy Frazer the Culture Secretary is the reality.
"It's not a question of examples".

This is completely brilliant Matt. Thank you so much for holding up a mirror to these Tory lies
What I think and how I feel is my reality.
It's very comforting.

Not much satire here, Matt. This is almost an exact transcript of the Kate B interview on Sky News!
I love to see and hear the cognitive dissonance that tories experience every time someone asks them for an honest answer.
"Yes, Minister" has found the writer for the new series. 😮👍
Check out the picked audience, and the panel members for that matter, of Question Time. Much more than a perception.
Great work Matt.
"Alternative facts!"
At that moment the truth disappeared...
Fake news!
Brilliant. Love it.

Hahaha! Yup! Ministers answers really are becoming pure satire these days!
To the Minister, don’t make me laugh, to Matt, please do, again!
Surely politicians complaining about the BBC are like a trades person blaming their tools. Maybe some more searching is needed 😅
😂😂😂🤣😭
'Sorry. Can you say that again?'
'I highly doubt it.'
Spot On Mr Green.
Thank you
Superb Matt.
Top notch!

🤣🤣 Sums it up beautifully! Thank you!
Thanks Matt. Excellent as always.
Topical and outstanding.
Perfect. No notes.
Did you have to give Ms Frazer a writing credit, Matt? 🤔
I wonder if Tory Ministers have the faintest idea what he is talking about?
The Tory culture secretary! there is an oxymoron in there somewhere.

Wait. Was this comedy. I was already laughing , but… was it?
This is marginally less ridiculous than the actual interview with the culture secretary but funnier..
Having seen parts of that interview I'm crying! (not with laughter either)

Nice one, Matt👍
Marvellous

Undermining the state media is straight out of the fascist handbook.
It's funny because it's true and that's the problem this is more like observation than comedy

I'm impartially biased towards liking these videos! 😂

He is. The BBC is blatantly biased. Just not the way he accuses them of being.

Sorry but your "junior minister" is far more coherent than the real character depicted by this sketch Matt!
That's my perception anyway....
The Tories own the BBC it's a propaganda channel for the Tories.
Do you write the scripts for the Tories? Or just borrow them?
I have a "perception" Matt that you dont like the Tory's, can't quite put my finger on it just a "vibe"....🙂

I recommend back to you Gil Scott-Heron’s B-Movie, that starts with “Well, the first thing I want to say is: Mandate my ass!”
Your failure to perceive the BBC as biased against the Tories is, of its very self, a bias on your part? This could go on endlessly...
