The Pikes Peak makes more sense . This is my understanding . Desmodromic valves were designed to solve valve bounce as the spring material of the day , 1970's , was not the quality that is available to day . As much as I love the mechanical set up of the Desmodromic valve system . A spring valve set up has the advantage of longer service intervals , all the items you mentioned , plus in the real world I don't believe you could tell the difference . As I say this I have never ridden a V4 , but I have many years with V2 Ducat's that have had Desmodromic valve trains.
To answer your question--- I just ordered a 2025 Pikes Peak. The RS is a great bike--but I couldn't do the desmo service interval. The cylinder deactivation under low load and rpm and the 36k valve inspect was what tipped it. Waiting patiently (not really) for April delivery.
Congrats! Wise choice, best bike bar none IMO, for the reasons you gave, and so stunning for ‘25! Sadly out of my league, it will will be a Tracer 9 GT+ for me next, at least it also has radar assisted cruise.. 😊 Enjoy the new bike, eventually..
Fun review to watch knowing how much you loved the Pikes Peak. In terms of it's comparison to the BMW M1000XR, I wonder if a reason why magazines hasn't done the shootout is because they're not really in the same price bracket. Comparably spec'ed M1000XR (without carbon wheels) is $10k+ less than the V4 RS. Without carbon wheels it's like $8k less. I suppose for some bikes you buy it because you just want it and not because it's a better package or value when compared to others.
you gave the price a rating of "10" , I think it should be the other way and get a 1 or a 2, indicating it's a horrible price. A 10 would, to me, indicate a great price that everyone would be able to handle.
If you breakdown the tech, titanium, tolerances, engineering, parts and pieces I am sure this bike should cost much more. It surely is a value thing with Ducati, they don't just overprice their bikes they truly cost a shit ton to make compared to others. If a person cannot afford one it does not mean it is over priced it just means it is too expensive for them. I can say I have owned everything and I have never been as satisfied with a bike or bikes like my Ducati's. I do own KTM, Harley, Beta, Yamaha, Honda etc......they just don't compare which is why they cost less.
It looks so good! If I had money to buy and own one for long time I wouldn't hesitate at all! Desmosedici Stradale engine that is used in Panigale and Streetfighter on a much comfier bike... dream!
I would buy this bike and I DID buy this bike! You nailed it with the comment that his bike is made for two things - the track and touring. I fitted mine with the full Akrapovic race exhaust w/upmap - OMG - it sounds and performs amazing! It's insane how quick this bike is for what it is. I used to have a Multistrada V4 with the grand turismo engine. I don't care what anyone says - the RS is quicker and faster everywhere in the power band unless you have the RPMs way down low like 2-3 RPMS, but honestly, if you're going to be getting on it, who does that? You're going to be in higher RPMs. I'm in absolute love with this bike! My only constructive criticism is the factory seat. For the track it's fine. For longer rides, I ended up getting a heated Sargent seat. It's much more comfortable, but still easy to slide the buttcheeks from side to side in the twisties. Great video - I just wish you had a place where you could really open it up more! :D
I only watched 10 seconds, unfortunately, but I hit like and left a comment cause I appreciate the price tag I can't afford being disclosed before I potentially fell in love 🤝
@@cmaz8547 PP is a better TOUR motor--especially factoring in 36,000 service. I'm already at 16,000 miles on my PP. If ultra fast is the goal--then go watch 650i video of the BMW M1000XR crush the PP and RS--for relatively cheap. But you can't carry side bags on the M. But what about of you transfer the S1000XR luggage set-u? 30 pounds lighter and 30 HP more at $5000-$10,000 less is hard to ignore. You have to third party tune all motors I have listed on all bikes or you are not getting all you paid for. The part throttle power restrictions for emissions/EPA is absurd. Add $800 and be amazed.
40,0000 ??? Sweet, the bike looks like like money and might even be worth more than 40,000 but isnt that like putting the whole poultry farm in one baske???. Also love that the yellow gloves are back.
OC: Between RS, Pikes Peak or BMW GS, I'll take option 4 and buy new Yamaha R9. Buy white and red R9, some new gear, pay year's worth of insurance and still have plenty to buy new PS5 Pro and new gaming PC.
OC crew: if I had unlimited funds, I go with the RS, with the Akra race pipe and tune that you can get through Ducati. Short of that, I'd go with the Pikes Peak for the same reasons you mentioned, mainly fear of the cost of a Desmo servicing.
I would pick the Pikes Peak, I'm a torque fiend and I am also cheap. But I would like to get the RS stickers as well as the tai (I believe there is a shop in the Philippines that makes one, if I'm not mistaken)
@@109rfan1 Being able to see right in front of your tire is kind of important. I don't care what people do. I was only commenting that it's wild that is the stock screen.
$1,2 millions subs and you still cannot afford this bike??? If you put this much afford into any other business, you could purchase this bike. You're wasting your time in TH-cam! Friendly advise! For $10K less, I'd get the BMW M1000XR for sure. This bike is way too expensive for what it is.
I have a Pikes Peak and was considering one of these. I guess it comes down to how you will use it? The Pikes Peak has plenty of power so that would not sway me. They both handle equally well. The RS has Desmo valves increasing service costs along with a dry clutch. Personally, the power is the only real difference aside from aesthetics so it seems like more of a collector's move to get one of these over a Pikes Peak. I can pretty well guarantee that the PP will be a more reliable engine and better for long distance etc.
I own a 4cyl bike and wasn't sure about the sound of this one, until you did de 40-80 pull.
Damn, it turned into MotoGP🏍🏁
If the Lamborghini Urus were a motorcycle, this would be it.

it’s certainly a dream bike but any of the multistrada v4’s are amazing

Surely that would be a value rating not price
so a cheap shitty bike gets a perfect 10?

Now you need to get on a 2024 BMW M1000XR with the full carbon.
best bang for the buck
Chase with this review in mind, I am trying to decide between the 2023,2024 or 2025 Pikes Peak. How was the heat on the Pikes Peak compared to the RS?

I got the pikes peak with Akra system and BT moto tune= TORQUE
i traded in my pp for the rs no comparison , the rs is another level
@@SP-xd8gs after 85 mph the RS has another level, because that is about the speed where the RS catches up to me. Cheers

OC: I’d go with the RS just to have the dry clutch and Ducati trademark desmo valve train.
bro please review the hypermotard 950 sp
I want the GT. It will be my next bike
It looks like the giant rooster Family Guy always fights.
The way EVERY Multistrada should have left the factory, minus DESMO valve train.

Do a first ride on a Harley Davidson Vrod 🤔🙌🏽
Agreed 👍🏻

For the price of a decent down-payment on a house it better be good.

That blacked out windscreen is bonkers for a touring bike.
It comes with both a blacked out windscreen as well as a smoked windscreen.

TH-cam pays for views not subs. He doesn’t get that many views on most videos.
He also has a life outside of TH-cam. He could easily have enough money for it, but it might not be a responsible way to spend that money.
