Right on Alec, appreciate the comment! I recently got around to testing out the rest of the banks that I hadn't yet- the drum kit is especially nice I think. The velocity sensitivity is incredibly dynamic. It's always cool when the samples are actually different at different velocities.
Thanks dude! Thats a great question, and to be honest, that's probably an issue I've been neglecting. To apply the effect while maintaining the best mono compatibility, you would need to offset the L and R signals by a matter of whole wavelengths, rather than ms. To do that, you might have 2 tracks panned left and right, and then drag one of the samples while zoomed in to make them precise. But that's kind of a clunky process, and I'd rather have a reliable plugin to do it way quicker. I've heard rumors that the free Ozone Imager (with stereoize turned on) applies the widening effect while compensating for the phase conflict. But after a few experiments, I'm not sure this is true enough to say that it's a bulletproof method. However, I can tell you that using the Ozone Imager does produce a fuller sound in mono than the delay method, so it is definitely compensating somehow. Also I just downloaded Wider by Polyverse which is supposedly mono compatible, so I'm interested to see what the differences are. Anyway, I will be searching for the final solution to this and I'll make a video soon to go over it! Appreciate the comment! Wow. Great video. One question, how do you avoid phase problems when using the HAAS effect? Every time I use it, my shares sound shitty in mono.
