Hi Joe , Garth Brooks is one of very few singer / songwriters that can turn people to tears through the lyrics of a song . The Dance . If Tomorrow Never Comes . The Beaches of Cheyenne .

"If you love your Job, you'll never work a day in your life"
I'd say that applies to Garth Brooks.
He loves what he does and that's a Part of why he's so damned good at it.
Being Humble, giving credit to the others around him and showing his appreciation for what they do and who they are is a big part of his "Greatness".
It's Impossible for me not to love this guy, and Lord knows I've Tried, but I just Can't Get It Done

Glad you decided to show this part. What a nice guy. It's not "me,me,me" like some artists say BUT THEY. AND he gives credit to his wife for her great career. Wow!
(by the way Joe if you don't know, there's a Russian band called Leonid and Friends that does Chicago cover songs. They have videos on youtube. They are GREAT!).

Hi Mike... thanks for watching... yes Garth is a really humble guy... yes also to Leonid and Friends.... I mentioned them to James Pankow... I’d love for Chicago to pick up their guitarist... he plays Kath note for note!! Best, Joe

Leonid and Friends is setting up a tour in the US starting in July. I think they’re near Nashville @Sept/Oct. Maybe record an interview with Leonid and others? Their thoughts of U.S. music? Interesting...

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum there is a video about them on youtube that tells about how they, as teenage kids of the early 70s, had to smuggle western rock and roll albums in and secretly listen to them for fear of being arrested or the albums being confiscated. An interesting video. I also saw today that they are scheduling a show in Nashville on July 24 or 25, 2021. Info is on their facebook page and website.

Great stuff Joe. I saw Garth here in Ireland 🇮🇪 back in the early 90s. Brilliant. Very sorry to hear of the death of Don, may he rest in peace. God bless you Joe.

Great interview Joe...as ever. It's interesting to hear what musicians have to say and Garth seems to be a thoroughly decent chap. I didn't know that you were a wannabe guitar player Joe but I've always loved that Terry Kath solo on 25 or 6 to 4. I come back to it occasionally when it comes into my head and play a little bit further each time but I know that the fast section will always be beyond me. Thanks.

Thanks for watching rocket.... check out the Russian cover band that does Chicago. Unbelievable. Sounds like studio records live. 25 or 6 To 4 note for note . I never heard Terry play it just like the record live. Thanks for watching...Joe

I met Garth at a big out door country music festival in Ohio when he had his first hit. He was on the show early in the afternoon. It was raining and muddy. I was in the mens room on the stage when he comes in covered in money. he had gone out side the back stage gate to talk to some fans and a couple of women jumped on him and he fell in the mud. He was already dressed and he was onstage next. He was using paper towels and water from the sink trying to get the mud off and I asked him what happened and he said these crazy girls knocked me down in the mud. lol I had no idea who he was. He was new opener. a year later i knew who he was. I also know a couple of guys that were on his last tour before he retired with the sound company. The audio engineer that was mixing the openers told me every one wanted on that tour. There were some rules though. I worked a whole week with those guys in Columbus Ohio a few dates before their last show as minor league ball stadium. Ran a follow spot for 5 shows that were all sold out. We tour it down on a Saturday night i believe and it was about 9 AM when I went home.

Man “the walk” from the dressing room to just right backstage before the lights hit and you get locked in……Aint no better drug in the world and trust me I have tried a few and I live for that walk……Clearly I do it and have done it on a way way way smaller scale to Mr Brooks…..But wiether it’s a stadium full of 80,000 people or a national guard armory with less than a 1000……That feeling is relative

I saw him in 99? 98 or 99...it was one of the best shows! I couldn’t talk for three days from singing every song at the top of my lungs! This was before everyone knew about him and Trisha..she showed up on stage and the crowd went wild!

...Garth’s republican and played for all but two of the past multiple presidents (scheduling conflicts), might want to actually do research before judgement. He stays out of politics, he’s all about love and acceptance...which does make sense that the new republicans don’t like him for. They’re not true republicans.

I couldn’t agree more. My band will never play another Brooks song again. His departure from country music during his “Chris Gains” strangeness was a red flag so far as I’m concerned. And now this !! I’m done with your twisted nonsense Brooks. Perhaps you and your communist pal, Tim McGraw should consider citizenship in China.
