This method will age leather fibers faster. I am a leather repair pro. Leather has a pH of 4.5. The leather has a clear resin protective top coating w/ micro-pores that allow water and oils to pass through. Water beads up because of surface tension, but when you wipe, some will go through and remain forever. Any pH difference causes leather fibers to break. All-purpose household cleaners, like Spray Nine have are very basic pH 12.7 (= 500 million x more basic than leather).

Age Faster VS what? How do you experts clean leather? Dont clean it? Do you scrub it all day long because your cleaner is week? Is better for the leather?
Body sweat is acidic, we cannot sweat on our seats?
Is better for the leather to keep it dirty?
Did you listen the video witch he talked about neutralizing the cleaner with rinsless wash? To you pro repair experts understand what neutralizing is?

@@marioskosmidhs9454 Leather that has a protective water resistant coating can be safely clean with leather cleaners made for upholstery. These use surfactants to loosen dirt and float it off the surface. The pH is been corrected to match the leather below because some of the cleaner will pass through micropores in the water-resistant color coating. If you repeatedly use products that do not match the leather pH, chemical bonds in the collagen protein fibers will be broken. Leather is 98% collagen protein fibers and the ones at the surface are holding the color coating on. When those fibers break then color comes off and creasing / surface cracking accelerates. When that accelerates more fibers are directly exposed to absorbing everything. Cleaners with a high pH are designed for cutting grease rapidly but surfactants alone will do the job for leather they just require a minute to sit to do their work. You can accelerate this by using an exfoliating glove or terry cloth to scrub it into the grain and five minutes later remove it. An excellent cleaner is made by ADV Leather. Buy direct from them.
As far as body oils entering leather, you can't prevent it especially in a car where insensible perspiration passes through thin clothing and through the color coating. It takes years usually for damage to become visible. Body oils accumulate in the leather gradually and spread in all directions. if you clean leather frequently you can prevent a great deal of those body oils from making it all the way into the leather below the coating. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth using full strength leather cleaner will remove body oils that are still on the surface. Visible soil that does not wipe right off can be removed best by letting the leather cleaner sit for 5 minutes before removing with a damp cloth. Soft scrubbing is only advised for getting soil that is already loosened out of the grain. It should not be abrasion that removes soil.

I wanted to use the eraser on a 2003 Cadillac Deville tan leather interior. But decided to use Weiman's cleaner and Mother's VLR. The cleaner is $4.12 and the VLR is $7.97 at Wal-Mart. Those two combined with warm water and a micro fiber towel. Worked great. I saw where the eraser took the coating off the leather. So I decided not to use the eraser. One other way is Coconut Shampoo and warm water on a micro fiber sponge. The Shampoo cleans and conditions the leather at the same time. I use the Weiman's conditioner to finish up on the door panel's and the front's and back of the seat's. The Weiman's leaves a lemony smell too. Shawn

hey nice vids. BEST way to clean cloth seats FASTEST and BEST:
get a big bucket of water, add some dawn detergent soap, and then 2 spray of LA's awesome all purpose. mix
get a sponge, soak in the liquid then wring most of it out. wipe the cloth. You can know how wet to get the seats

Sorry but this is a typical what you shouldn't do video. You shouldn't apply any liquid directly to the perforated leather seats to avoid filling pores. You shouldn't wipe the seat with any cloth back and forth to avoid filling pores and spreading grimes back to the pores and leather surface.
I strongly recommend leather cleaning liquids instead of multi-purpose cleaners. And you don't need two different cleaner for this level of grime/dirt.
Magic sponge would be another alternative.
But I always prefer leather cleaning liquid to wipe by spraying onto horse hair brush. If it won't be enough, I use magic sponge as a last resort. In the end, I always apply leather cream/conditioner to keep leather seats moisturized, smooth and make it barrier between skin oil and seats.
I don't wanna write any brands for leather cleaning and conditioning, you can find easily by googling.
    All the best,

Magic eraser is good but far from being as fast as a micofibre cloth like Scott just showed here. And the magic eraser falls appart if you use it very fast and too hard.
It is good of course. I use it a lot but not as fast as this.

Hi Scott. Quick question. How do you know when leather seats are coated? I want to maintain my Lexus RX 2014 F Sport which has leather seats. I am planning on using Super Clean diluted 10:1 or woolite diluted the same and finishing with meguiars hyper dressing. Can you please advise? I dont want to ruin the interior of my car..
