Unless you are dead set serious about trying to compete then there is zero reason to train insanely heavy. You will only end up like that last guy, busted up and unable to train or potentially even work for months while you recover.
That last guy, those kinds of injuries happen all the time to dudes cycling gear. Their strength goes through the roof and their muscles grow, but none of there tendons and ligaments grow at that same pace. Thats why injuries like that occur more times than not with people runnig gear.

My first thought after reading your comment is that places of muscle-bone connection are facing local bone growth with the increase of muscle mass to fortify that connection, and steroids don't help with that, bone can take years to grow enough, and we talk here about something no human can gain naturally.

Thats why it is always safer to squad without a spotter imo because you can just dip the weight backwards without having to worry about hurting anyone. Even better would be squatting in a rack with the safety bars set up.
@@Natorom exactly, my gym was pretty old and before it was updated the squat rack had safeties that were built with to set to a certain height so you couldn’t adjust it. I avoided squatting on it and just used the smith machine or did Bss. They eventually updated and got ones that were adjustable so I’m squatting again. I’ll never understand these people who choose to squat heavy knowing they don’t want to intentionally hurt the spotter so they decide to roll the weight forward..

the golden rule is make sure you communicate with the spotter what you are anticipating and what you want. when people want a spot for a quick set of 8 and then ask for a spot again but attempt to PR and now want an unrack and rerack assist... and for a squat you better tell em how you're anticipating bailing or getting an assist. if they don't understand, still on you to change the situation or spotter.
I am always amazed by the number of people who don’t have the safety bars set at the correct height. Virtually every one of these squat fails could have been avoided by using a squat rack with the safety bars set at the proper height.
This is why I never squat a weight I know I can’t do more than 8 reps with. Spotter or not I ain’t gonna risk getting a hospital visit for a quick gym session

He lost 30 Lbs of muscle while he was healing up. He got SOME lost strength back. But it took him 6+ months to achieve this. His biceps don't match. He looks like The Toxic Avenger. All disproportionate. It isn't worth it.*

The guy on the leg sled had what - 3 or 4 plates on? Wow! All those spotters :) The second leg press dude has big expectations, but no reps :) Torn quad tendon dude- I had a lifting buddy who did that twice -with 1000 lbs each time so he made a real mess of his quads (tore both tendons). He would tell you that juicing works on the muscle - not the tendon.

Bench press no collars. Squat use collars and what ever catches the bar to prevent you from hurting yourself during ego lift.
