    Great tips. I personally have them organized by decades but in them i havesubfolder( that start with THE decade song) and then others that match. I was hoping to see some examples. Thanks

    Picking several songs at once and adding to prepare panel....GENIUS! I'll try it out.

      Using prepared changed the way I DJ'd with Serato forever.

    A tip you could of mentioned is to have “play from start and play from first cue point” checked in setup. It’s helpful for beginners and will indeed load the track faster.

      That's a great one!

    Cool video but what I do with my cue points in Serato is that I name the cue point for example (mix here). I do that because I have so much music that sometimes I forget where I should mix my next song. Especially when I haven’t played that song. Hope this helps someone ✌️

    • @PDot
      @PDot  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great way to use cue points!

    An additional tip that if add would be to not forget to pay attention to the crowd. It’s easy to get wrapped up in everything you’re doing with your equipment and lose track of interacting with the crowd.

    Kid Capri started the quick mixing craz because he only had 30 minutes or less on Def Jam Comedy. But if you DJing 3 or 4 hours straight just quick mixing seems weird

    Great video bro. Question what is a prepared crate? I just started using Serato DJ Pro. I know how to create a regular crate and a smart crate and a sub crate. Hopefully not a stupid question. Thank you

    • @PDot
      @PDot  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Prepare crate is a place where you can throw songs you intend to play soon, and as you play them they automatically disappear from the crate.

      PDotTV thank you! Where do you find them in Serato?

      To the right in the row where Files, Browse, Prepare & History & next to that is the Search. The shortcut to adding songs into the Prepare list on a Mac is command + P

    How long should a song should be playing b4 mixing the next track? I mix it from 1min to 1: 1/2min. Also how long is a mini set? Are you talking 15 more or less?

    • @PDot
      @PDot  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say for quick mixing you would want to play AT MOST one verse and one chorus. And by mini-sets I'm talking about like 2-5 songs that you play together that have some sort of connecting thread. Maybe the use the same instrument, like a piano or flute, or maybe some creative word play between the songs that link all of them together.

    For your quick mixing, are you just dropping it on the 1 between tracks? And how are you transitioning between different genres & BPMs in a short amount of time?

    • @PDot
      @PDot  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually use a combination of blending and dropping it on the 1 when quick mixing. The more familiar you are with your music the faster you are able to mix through it, sometimes just playing the hook or maybe one verse into the hook. I usually can jump 30-40 bpm in the span of 10-15 minutes just blending/dropping without using any sort of transition track.

    • @deejaybalance
      @deejaybalance 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      PDotTV Thanks for that. Do you have any tips for dropping it on the 4? I have quite a few tracks that the verse or hook actually starts on the 4 count and it’s kinda tricky getting the timing right.
