This is a great idea to provide information about places many are not aware of.

I think Soulard is doing the best it can just like everyone else. The restaurants are coming up with new ways to get people in the door and keep people safe. Lots of outdoor dining where it can happen. I just had lunch the other day at Mission Taco and luckily it was pretty nice out so they had the garage door open. Worried about all the smaller mom and pop restaurants that are struggling during these times. It breaks my heart to see how hard it is for some of our favorite bars and restaurants throughout the area.

My son and DIL are moving to St Louis for his job in the Coast Guard and are looking for info on safe areas to live. Is Soulard safe? Or any neighborhoods that you recommend?

@@FoundersHealth They just want to be safe. He will work at Robert A young building. 1300 max for rent and could buy with their VA loan if they found something safe. That is literally their only criteria. Safety. Not in the downtown area.

Thanks for sharing details about Soulard. I do have one question: Is this a dangerous neighborhood?

Hi Bruno! I don't consider Soulard dangerous but as with all densely populated areas (in St Louis or any other bigger city for that matter) I always recommend being smart about personal safety. Keeping eyes open and making smart decisions about your surroundings are a good idea no matter where you are :)

My spouse & I stayed there a couple of nights a couple of years ago. It's a nice neighborhood, but St. Louis is a small city (considering all the things it offers) so you want to stay aware of surroundings..
